  1. Glenn's peak and Nichols peak extremely similar players.....my only real point.
  2. ...and if that player wants to play for that management team...
  3. I'm always blinded by the "hometown" thing and a guy who legitimately would be stoked to wear the colours, but I really feel like that kid is LOADED with potential as both a returner and receiving threat...
  4. For everyone freaking out about NI Rec, this is Demski's last year on his ELC in Sask, and we all know what a diehard Bombers fan he's been his whole life. I'd really like to see some groundwork being laid behind the scenes to make sure he's ready to head east as soon as Feb rolls around next year....
  5. @Dave_CHED #Eskimos have released the following players: LB Alex Hoffman-Ellis, LB Donnie Baggs, DB Mike Dubuisson, and DL Jabari Hunt. #CFL @Dave_CHED #Eskimos have signed INT. OL Colin Kelly. Played tackle for the REDBLACKS in 2015 and played it well. Was in the NFL last season. #CFL
  6. No they won't, because it's the farthest and most difficult throw for a QB to make...
  7. Just as "a couple of 12+ win seasons" wouldn't be entirely Nichols doing. The both of them are upper-mid-level QBs who you can absolutely win games with, if you surround them with the right pieces. They're not going to be elite guys who win you games all on their own, a la BLM/Frito Ray/etc, but if you give them enough to work with, both (Glenn moreso 10 years ago) can definitely win and you can (could) win a GC with either...
  8. More: http://3downnation.com/2017/05/08/cfl-teams-play-big-role-new-canadian-soccer-league/ "The Winnipeg Football Club, which owns the Blue Bombers, will also own the soccer team and play out of Investor’s Group Field, where the Bombers play."
  9. Bombers sent out a presser about it....no mention of TNSE anywhere. I think some people just assume they are the only ones capable of running sports teams...
  10. I actually really enjoy where they've gone with Nashville now. Very curious to see what happens going forward.
  11. there was a lot of talk leading up to the draft that Wally was going to be taking Vandevoort...I think Ham tried to trade up, but couldn't make something happen (or so was tweeted last night). As Walters has mentioned several times, it's no surprise that every team's personal "board" was different. For Ham, they really liked McGough....nothing wrong with that....
  12. I think you missed the winkie-face, sir..........definitely not a TNSE project.....
  13. Nichols is NEVER going to be elite. At his best, he can be Kevin Glenn, and that's fine. You can win with that, with the right pieces around him. We're as close as we've ever been, but winning the cup takes as much luck as it does talent, so we'll need some breaks along the way...
  14. This... People need to forget about the whole "elite level NI Rec" thing. Why would you even want Getzlaf? For what we ask them to do, I'm more than happy with who we have...
  15. Yeah, Ekakitie signing was announced before the Riders had picked Judge......never mind before the end of the draft.
  16. not sure why people are freaking out about a 4th round pick in a universally-accepted weak draft. Medlock is a) Old 2) not a great punter 3) Expensive. I have no problem taking a guy that might be awesome in a few years...
  17. thanks Rich -- I never even looked to see if it was there....
  18. Honestly, at this point, I think I would......I think he's "BPA".....it's a crapshoot of a draft. I know we "need" a NI DT that can spell off Thomas, but man...it's tough to leave a kid potentially this good on the table...
  19. he's signed a relatively long term deal (by CFL standards) so I'm sure he's good to go as long as Sask will have him. You really gotta let that whole thing go...he did what he did, it's over, and now he's seemingly happy in Sask.
  20. Not sure how many were planning on it, but I'll head to the chat in about 45 minutes and hopefully we can have some fun discussion picking apart every move made by ever GM.....see ya's there...
  21. Man, if the Riders get Judge, they've got him and Muamba in the LB corps... Could be deadly real soon.
  22. Darren Cameron says Walters in a conference with scouts right now discussing a potential trade that's come through.... Stay tuned....
  23. So, getting things back on track, here's a really neat piece from Duane Forde about some "sleeper picks" for today's draft. I remember hearing some time ago about how there was another Ralph brother (Brock and Brett's youngest bro) coming, but then I lost track of it.... http://www.tsn.ca/cfl-draft-six-sleepers-and-four-not-so-sleepers-1.744990 "6. Jimmy Ralph (REC, Alberta) – The younger brother of former CFLers Brett and Brock might be the best athlete in Raymond, Alberta’s first family of football. He began his college career at Weber State and, after a redshirt season in 2013, transferred home to join the Golden Bears. In 2015, he ranked fifth in the nation with 862 receiving yards but sat out last season. The knock against him is his size (5’10”, 185 lbs.)...but that’s also what they said about his brother Brett, who led all CFL rookies in receiving in 2005."
  24. I think there's a lot of Wpg people who are just obsessed with all things True North, who are just overly hopeful that this is a TNSE thing. Personally, as much as I have nothing against Chipper and crew, I'd like the Bombers to do this on their own...just to prove they can, and that not everything in this city needs to be a TNSE project.
  25. Except nothing to do with True North.....
