@CFLCapGuy
#CFL teams received audited 2016 cap results today. Statutory waiting period, then media release to follow.
Really hoping the Riders got dinged as hard as they should.....
In fairness, I said "closer to 200k" (than $120k).....now, I may have Smith/Dressler contracts mixed up, but I could swear it was north of 150k, for sure...
The thing is, knowing Manitoba, there's probably people who think this is "misspending the budget" and that the players are asking for too much. "WE'VE GOT A STADIUM TO PAY FOR!!!"

I thought this was neat enough to start it's own thread. We know, from players talking about it, that the Bombers started spending more money on little things, and really acting like a pro organization. Jamal Westerman said they operate exactly like an NFL team. This article has a little more in depth on what that means...
I have hereby decided that this kid is *OUR* Brendon Labatte, only more talented......I'm not ready to call him New Walby yet, but, if they're SURE he's not NFL-Bound, take him....done and done.
...not to derail a pretty good thread so far, but this is actually a thing that has pissed me off in 2 different workplaces. I've been a victim of it, re: holiday time, where people with families get priority because "well, they have kids"....get f***ed....don't punish me because I wasn't stupid enough to knock up the old lady.....
Okay, /Rant
Not that it means anything per se, but fwiw, Bauming says the Bombers had a very large contingent on hand today. Not really surprising, I suppose, since it's right here in our back yard, so they may as well be there........but still.....if they figure the kid is CFL bound, I'd be okay with him at #1...
Waiting for @SpeedFlex27 to chime in on this, because I believe he was the one complaining (no, seriously, guys!) about how pricing was way out of hand and not affordable for the average family anymore.
Definitely commend the Bombers on making this a priority!!
