  1. the entire bullpen was outstanding in the playoffs, and IMO, worth bringing back...
  2. It's interesting that AHL takes a back seat to WHA......I get it, but........
  3. that's awesome to see...great job, 'Tobans! Heard both 50/50 draws were off the charts....fantastic!
  4. JB is a big time declining asset. His D gets worse and worse every year, and in spite of his home runs, his average continues to dip. And seems to be injured more often, as well. If we do keep him around, I sure hope it's not a lot of money. IMO, he's not worth it anymore...and it'd be a waste of cash we COULD be putting into someone else..
  5. Something like 13-4 for visiting teams...I wouldn't put too much stock in losing the outdoor game. The alarming deficits after 2 periods, however.......that's something that needs to be addressed.
  6. ahhhh yes, that is a far cry from true Rapid Transit....but........it's a start. Good for Wpg.
  7. I am really surprised they didn't let JB walk.....but it'll be most interesting to see if EE decides to spurn the offer and just head to Boston or NY for a supposed better shot at winning.
  8. If it's about "Winnipeg hockey", should some retired Moose (Keane, Arniel, etc) have been invited? Also, I didn't realize how far along you guys were with the Rapid Transit thing. I thought the various levels of government were still arguing about whether they'd even do it. That is fantastic that it's going to be up and running by next summer. It'll make a HUGE difference for getting to and from games. I love the C-Train in Calgary!
  9. Edm will beat Ham for sure. Sask will be lucky to get a split with BC, but let's be generous and say yes. Ott would be very fortunate to take either game from Wpg, but again, let's be generous. I still see us in 2nd when it's all said and done...
  10. This was mine, too!!
  11. I was 10...don't remember that game, specifically, so I'm thinking I was in bed before OT. I remember Game 6, tho...remember Kurri walking in and wiring that one over Essensa...vivid memory...
  12. ....my nose is sore......
  13. Bombers doing an informal "1st Annual Fan's Choice Awards"...have your say! http://www.bluebombers.com/fans-choice-awards/
  14. But it's pretty tough to tell when you start with a team that good. If anything, give DD credit for not taking a HC gig until it was the perfect one...
  15. the point is -- people are giving DD too much credit for the Stamps success this year...
  16. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/hockey/jets/the-night-the-roof-came-off-397838311.html A great read here from Turner.....
  17. well, as long as you give him credit for SOMETHING.......
  18. I love that we are getting zero respect....Ritchie would be LOVING this right now.
  19. Neat bit about our road record. Probably the most impressive thing about our season so far. . .
  20. I'm far more interested in the alumni game, but you can't expect that those guys are going to be trying that hard. It's gonna be a glorified shinny game...
  21. It was sarcasm....mocking an earlier poster....
  22. Honestly, I'd like to see Calgary win out until they (hopefully) play Winnipeg again. Get 'em real fat n sassy heading into the West Final......
  23. Funny, I can't help but wonder what MOS would be able to do if he inherited a championship calibre team with depth at every position on the roster.....
  24. Lotta people in this thread who've never been in a sports locker room and have no clue how things operate. Keeping's resume gives him a ton of cred in the locker room. No question he's a leader who can help the young guys...
  25. The thing is, you can't look at it as "2 bad years, 1 good" in a vacuum. It was 2 bad years in the start of a full body off restoration. This team was in such dire straits, talent-wise, when they came in, that nobody could've done much with that. I choose to believe that it's only now that we're starting to see the fruits of their labour...Where some people want to give Walters the longer contract because they think he's done such a good job finding talent, I actually feel like MOS deserves the longer contract for what he was able to do (anything at all!) with what he started with. He's a good coach who's still learning to be great. Terrified we'll lose the both of them to Toronto or Hamilton one day...
