  1. It's really the only possible explanation...
  2. I would bet you that Assiniboia Downs spends money with them so this is a bit of a back-scratch. I know they bring Dunn a lot...
  3. Very interesting to me to see Collaros really not looking very good this year, aside from a few moments. Also neat to see DB97 get inducted. Nobody played the NT position that we'll, and certainly not for that long.
  4. **** I hate **** like this. Simple solution: Don't knock your broad up. Christ...
  5. Johnson hasn't stood out to you in a bad way regularly this season?? What games are you watching...?
  6. I know they're totally different positions and all, but man I hate seeing Freddy Frederick sitting while Rented Mule Johnson continues to see the field...
  7. Where Toronto is trying so hard to be New York, Calgary is trying to be Toronto West. And it's NOTHING to do with economic downturn... It's been like this as long as I've been in AB (9 years) where the CFL just doesn't get any respect or appreciation from Calgary because they don't care. Even the Flames had a similar "fan" base until 2004,and then all of a sudden it became cool to be at the rink. Dave is right, worst sports fans going, period.
  8. A UFC event... Seriously, they're not Riders fans bad, but they're just awful fans who take an incredible team for granted.
  9. In Caro's defence, Zurkowski can be a ****** canoe at times. He's kinda like Friesen if Friesen was a beat reporter. Sooooo maybe more like Bender, then...
  10. thanks for updating this...I know the team has been keeping quiet and taking the high road, but I was legitimately VERY curious about what was found (if anything....)
  11. I haven't heard anything about Heath starting this week. Everything reported so far suggests he's been working with scout team only....
  12. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/winnipeg-blue-bombers-fan-feedback-banjo-bowl-1.3763589 Fans who went to the Banjo Bowl last Saturday are being asked to weigh in on their overall game experience. A fan experience survey for the 2016 Banjo Bowl was sent to fans this week, asking for input on everything from the cleanliness of the stadium to customer service at concessions, and the helpfulness of staff to the game experience. The survey comes after Janelle-Marie Emond said her 9-year-old son was bullied and had beer poured on him by Bomber fans for wearing a green sweater at the Banjo Bowl last Saturday when the Blue Bombers beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 17-10. The football club has sent a gift basket to Emond and her son with complimentary tickets to future Bomber games as well as a chance to meet some of the Blue Bomber players. Feeling better Emond said Thursday that her son is still feeling overwhelmed by all the attention, but he's also feeling better. She plans to take him to another game as soon as this Saturday. "We're going to take a look at the schedule and pick a game together," Emond said in an email to CBC. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have not commented on the survey, but Emond called it a positive sign. That is fantastic to hear. It is nice to see that possibly some things could change," she said. The questions in the survey include: How often do you attend Blue Bomber games? Where was your seat located? How did you get to the game? How likely are you to recommend purchasing tickets to a Blue Bombers game to a friend, family member or colleague? There were also questions about parking and whether fans parked on campus or off campus. The survey also asks for any additional feedback about fans' overall experience at the Banjo Bowl.
  13. Gary Lawless tweets that word is the Argos have Josh Bourke on the trade block..........does the guy have much juice left in the tank? How old is he?
  14. Yeah, that's fair in a specific context.....I was thinking of it in general terms that it seemed absurd. I've seen Bruce Johnson whiff on so many tackles this year that I would desperately like to see him take some time off...
  15. wait....did a guy say that we "needed" a DB?? The deepest part of our team?
  16. Just to tack on here, when asked in post practice presser, MOS said those injured guys don't necessarily need to practice this week to play. He was going to check on Harris/Wild on Thursday and make a determination then. Smith, they figure, is a couple weeks likely.
  17. We're all aware, by now, about The Trinity's policy re: player personalities. MOS, especially, looks for players who are even better human beings than they are players. Duron Carter does NOT fit his mould, clearly...
  18. Lawless tweeted out something today about how the Als might be having a fire sale right away. They're going to be cutting ties with expensive vets and using their younger, cheaper players to both get an idea what they have and also to shed some salary...
  19. Fwiw, when I first read the story, I also felt like something wasn't right. Definitely not saying that nothing happened, but I wouldn't be shocked if this was really being blown outta the water. If "pouring beer on the kids head" was actually "accidentally spilled a bit of beer on the kid in front of me", It'd be a lot easier to believe. That happens a lot....especially at an event like this.
  20. This year he might not look much better cause their team is ****, but next year I expect big things...
  21. Barker saying that they'd been trying to do this deal without Heath involved for awhile now, but Walters long-cocked him on the porch....refused to do the deal without Heath, and then Barker realized that this was the best deal they were going to get, so he had to cave. Good on Walters for holding strong...
  22. Dave and I were talking this morning about how it's similar to when Michael Bishop was 11-1 in Toronto in 2007, including a 9-game win streak. People were like "BISHOP!! ALL HE DOES IS WIN!!!11!" while overlooking the fact that he was an awful QB who had an incredible Stubler D and ST led by MOS and Co (still playing).......eerily similar situation. Fwiw, I think Nichols is a much smarter QB than Bishop (notoriously one of the dumbest) but still...there are some similarities...
  23. The number of times Nichols has badly under thrown a receiver and they managed to bail him out...cripes.
  24. I think this year is a write-off, but I think he'll be their starter next summer and will look good with a much better team...
  25. Drew Willy has never played a full season in the league, fwiw. If you want to judge him for his injury history, that's completely fair game.
