  1. a buddy and I talk all the time about how the NHL would be a lot better if they cut back to about 65 games, and a best of 5 opening round series. I know it'll never happen because $$$$$ but for the quality of the game, the health of the players, etc....it would be so much better with less hockey but higher QUALITY hockey... ...Oh, and cut it back to 21 teams.......
  2. Darren Dreger is (almost) always wrong.....?? Really?? Eklund, I get, but Dreger's a really connected guy.....
  3. I'd be more willing to join the "injury prone!!11!" crew if it was the same thing being injured all the time. Different stuff says "fluke" to me...or, maybe his whole body is just fragile...I dunno. But I'm willing to give him time yet.
  4. If anything, my love for all things Manitoba grows larger with every passing year that I'm in Alberta. Being around Calgary sports fans just makes me an even bigger Bombers fan. I consider myself an Oilers fan, too, but that's been a thing since Gretzky, and it's amped up now that I live around Flames fans, who just make me ill. They're basically Riders fans.....a gross society unto itself.
  5. that's what a "loge" is, I think (??) and as the previous poster said, the cost of those is going to be extraordinary for this event, so quite a few might opt to pass on the weekend...
  6. “I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN, MAN. I TOLD MYSELF, ‘I’M NOT GETTING CARTED OFF THE FIELD IF IT’S THE LAST TIME I’M EVER OUT HERE. GET YOUR ASS UP’.” -- Keeping, to Darren Cameron, after the game... That's a man, right there. Cameron says: "That's a guy you win championships with...and for...."
  7. Anyone remember the 2003 TiCats? That'd be too good for the Riders sometimes-faithful....
  8. Fwiw, I feel the same way about Iso...
  9. Fwiw, Bauming said McDuffie made a ridiculous highlight-reel grab in practice today. Ball thrown behind him, had to fully twist around back to it, arm fully extended and velcro hand to haul it in. Not too worried about the one drop from the other night...
  10. http://www.bluebombers.com/2016/06/09/197886/ Trent Corney's post-game blog post. Good stuff there...
  11. You'd be surprised..............or not.................
  12. I said to 17to85 this morning: "When Butcher was a Manimal and got the deflection which was caught for INT by Waggoner, I'm pretty sure Walters was sporting a giant rager on the sidelines" It's nice to see, at least for now, that the recruiting and CIS drafting is starting to pay off....
  13. Pow...right to the solar plexis....
  14. God, I sincerely hope not......
  15. Jacob Trouba has not justified an asking price of 7m+ yet.....I'd be passing on that, too.
  16. I was asking about that in the chat last night, and I believe someone said he's dinged up and didn't play last night...
  17. Posey....
  18. I would doubt that Harris plays much (if at all) vs Ottawa, and you'll see the import RBs get most of the reps to continue to duke it out...
  19. First mandatory cut day isn't until after our 2nd game (thanks to quirky scheduling) so we really don't have to cut anyone. They'll likely use that second game to further evaluate a few positions that have a really serious battle going on. MOS said in the post-game that they're going to take just north of 50 guys to Ottawa for Monday...
  20. on the post-game show, Corney told Irving that he used to be a kick-returner and RB in high-school, so he has done that before, but admitted that when it happened last night, he was "absolutely terrified"...
  21. Other than the one dropped pass on the goal line, what makes you say that?
  22. I set the PVR to tape the 1am replay, so at least I have it on the PVR now...
  23. Curious -- what, specifically, concerned you about the OL from last night?
  24. They know we cut him so they'll wait...
