So now we gotta organize a tastin'....
-
But what about Reds, Ambers, Wheats, etc.....

Shopping trip to the beer store? **** yes! Bring some of that Arrogant Bastard if it hit the shelves yet. That's actually out of some place in the states, I just happened to find it in one liquor store randomly. There's some decent offerings from local stuff here that I think would be the way to go. They're small enough at this moment that they won't have much distribution outside of Alberta or even Calgary yet that are a worthwhile try. The debate would be whether to bring IPAs and other hoppy things or go for a wider variety. There's stuff we think is great beer, but "Does Mike only want IPAs?" has been the question...

Imagine Sheldon Cooper and Richard Kiel had a love child....
-
So don't look for this guy then? Fatter and slightly balder.....

I believe our GC tix are in the north endzone just below the Rum Hut. Sitting with a buddy who's a season ticket holder. Mildly concerned at just how insane that concourse is going to be during GC....

We'll be an easy crew to find, even in a big social hall like this, because Dave's 6'4" and his big shiny bald spot on the back of his head stands out like a beacon!

Last Best is the Banff/Jasper Brew Co, and they just opened up a shop in YYC, I believe. They do have some decent stuff... If you're ever out in Banff, go to the Banff Brew Co brew-pub and try their sampler...

Nice to see the support...horrible, flukey tragic thing...coulda happened to anyone at any time. -
I'll see what I can come up with....cops are twitchy about bringing booze across borders, so I generally don't, but I'll talk to Dave and see what he thinks about putting together a Taster Pack. On this topic, have you seen the "Manitoba Social" taster pack that Ft Garry and Half Pints are doing? I literally don't want to drink anything else ever again.....

And Ryan Rishaug says Oilers have been working on a deal for Hamonic since September......

I'm trying to remember if Barley Bros has a bunch of the Alberta stuff on tap there, where it'd be just as easy to try. I'm planning on loading up at the MB LC when we get into town. But yes, we are driving...never fly......f*** is that expensive.

Black Friday......half the games that day are matinees.......
-
well, he DID say Western Canada...and Snow's going to take the best deal he can get......
-
So who's all going to what next week? There's 3 of us making the roadie from Calgary next Wednesday. So far, other than the game itself, we've just got tix for the TD MB Social at the Convention Centre on Friday afternoon. Hoping they have the Jets game on a big screen, as the Jets play Minnie that afternoon. Either way, should be a good time! A lot of the team parties, like Riderville and the Atlantic thing....are cheap or free....so we'll be at a lot of those I suspect. What's everyone else taking in?
-
Ladd and Buff are absolutely going to be the first two things offered, in terms of O and D, but not sure it's either of them that go, if this trade happens. It's really going to be interesting to see how this deal gets done, and with which team. Everyone talking Oilers and Jets, for obvious reasons, but imagine it's something like Minnesota maybe? (Close to Winnipeg...) or Vancouver or Calgary even?? Can't wait to see this unfold...

That was one thing I read....Yakupov, Schultz + a prospect or pick.....which I'd grudgingly do, as I like both Yak and Schultz.

New Zoolander 2 trailer is out....shocked that it looks REALLY funny. First one is awesome, but I really thought, after this much time, the sequel would be awful....

Edmonton Oilers LOL (perhaps Calgary Flames LOL)
Noeller replied to IC Khari's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Been a Gretzky and Fuhr fan from the early days. Love for Jets, Leafs, and Hawks but living among fLames fans, I cheer loudest for Oilers. -
Tait says been hearing the Isles asking for Little, Hellebuyck, Pick as part of the package and he says there is no way the Jets part with that.
-
Probably hire someone cheaper to do itMost likely automated. Someone in another city does the job remotely. Doesn't do the job as well, but does it cheaper.
-
It's gonna be a lot of automation soon. Somehow more than they already do.

Lotsa solid hits out there. Every day he's Scheifflin'....

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/business/19-jobs-cut-at-Winnipegs-Bell-Media-radio-tv-stations-351531761.html#st_refDomain=www.facebook.com&st_refQuery=/ axe on several employees. At least 19 people have been cut at CTV Winnipeg, 103.1 Virgin Radio and 99.9 BOB FM as Bell Media, which owns TV and radio stations across the country, continued the nationwide restructuring it began in August. Pamela Roz, 103.1 Virgin Radio’s host on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., was cut, along with Kristin Marand, 99.9 BOB FM’s midday host. Roz tweeted on Wednesday that "to use a #sports term, I’m a free-agent, friends! No longer on-air, but full of fun skills to use as I please. Thx for all the support." Marand tweeted earlier this week that "the great @halanderson once told me "kid, you’re no one in this business until you’ve been fired at least six times." Seven other employees in radio production, sales, street team and engineering are also gone. At CTV Winnipeg, no on-air staff were cut, but the TV station lost its operations manager, promotions manager and payroll manager, as well as a camera operator, editor, floor editor, feed and play operator, web producer, traffic manager and receptionist. Bell Media had announced earlier this month it planned to eliminate 380 positions across the country, including 270 in Toronto. A spokesperson for Unifor, the union that represents the workers, said at the time that 220 of the positions would be in editorial and production, 45 in sales and marketing and five in administration. A local spokesperson for Unifor and another for Bell Media could not be reached for comment on Wednesday. Across the country, other notable cuts included CTV News Channel anchors Dan Matheson and Amanda Blitz, and TSN co-host David Bastl. TSN’s Off The Record was also cancelled, but its host, Michael Landsberg, will continue producing shorter pieces for the station. Bell Media owns 30 local TV stations, 34 specialty channels like TSN, and 106 radio stations across the country. kevin.rollason@freepress.mb.ca

Add another 19 to the list, as Bell Winnipeg let a bunch of Radio/TV people go today. Just f***ing brutal.....
