Barker saying that they'd been trying to do this deal without Heath involved for awhile now, but Walters long-cocked him on the porch....refused to do the deal without Heath, and then Barker realized that this was the best deal they were going to get, so he had to cave. Good on Walters for holding strong...

Dave and I were talking this morning about how it's similar to when Michael Bishop was 11-1 in Toronto in 2007, including a 9-game win streak. People were like "BISHOP!! ALL HE DOES IS WIN!!!11!" while overlooking the fact that he was an awful QB who had an incredible Stubler D and ST led by MOS and Co (still playing).......eerily similar situation. Fwiw, I think Nichols is a much smarter QB than Bishop (notoriously one of the dumbest) but still...there are some similarities...

The number of times Nichols has badly under thrown a receiver and they managed to bail him out...cripes.

I think this year is a write-off, but I think he'll be their starter next summer and will look good with a much better team...

Drew Willy has never played a full season in the league, fwiw. If you want to judge him for his injury history, that's completely fair game.

Being in the other division, even in a worst case scenario, he can't haunt us that bad. Ricky Ray and Drew Willy on the same team makes me a much bigger Argos fan, that's for sure. Hope Willy has a killer season next year...5000 yards and 40 TDs...

Funny story: I found that tweet and posted it here. Less than 5 minutes after that, I happened to notice it was deleted. I was talking to 17to85 on FB chat and told him about it and he says "just watch, Walters saw that and said 'ehhhhhhh might wanna pull that one, Bob...'" And wouldn't you know.....

Bruce Johnson has been next to awful for a good chunk of this season, so I'm glad to see someone come in that can take his spot.

Lefevour was mostly outstanding in a 33-21 win over Hamilton today....Willy's not doing anything important for them next weekend.

we're running two quality back-up QBs right now and hoping for the best.....I'm not totally averse to it, for this year.

I'm a Drew Willy fan....I've never made a secret of that. Was a fan of his when he was a Rider and here. But I think we're a better football team right now than we were this morning, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

Healthy or not, I'm not sure I would ever trust that guy long term. But hey, we've got Matt Nichols on a run.... Anything is possible....
