At least 19 people have been cut at CTV Winnipeg, 103.1 Virgin Radio and 99.9 BOB FM as Bell Media, which owns TV and radio stations across the country, continued the nationwide restructuring it began in August. Pamela Roz, 103.1 Virgin Radio’s host on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., was cut, along with Kristin Marand, 99.9 BOB FM’s midday host. Roz tweeted on Wednesday that "to use a #sports term, I’m a free-agent, friends! No longer on-air, but full of fun skills to use as I please. Thx for all the support." Marand tweeted earlier this week that "the great @halanderson once told me "kid, you’re no one in this business until you’ve been fired at least six times." Seven other employees in radio production, sales, street team and engineering are also gone. At CTV Winnipeg, no on-air staff were cut, but the TV station lost its operations manager, promotions manager and payroll manager, as well as a camera operator, editor, floor editor, feed and play operator, web producer, traffic manager and receptionist. Bell Media had announced earlier this month it planned to eliminate 380 positions across the country, including 270 in Toronto. A spokesperson for Unifor, the union that represents the workers, said at the time that 220 of the positions would be in editorial and production, 45 in sales and marketing and five in administration. A local spokesperson for Unifor and another for Bell Media could not be reached for comment on Wednesday. Across the country, other notable cuts included CTV News Channel anchors Dan Matheson and Amanda Blitz, and TSN co-host David Bastl. TSN’s Off The Record was also cancelled, but its host, Michael Landsberg, will continue producing shorter pieces for the station. Oh please...Nurse, Klefbom, Schultz.....any one of those could go back (but won't...) Oilers are THE front-runner, no question, because they have to be. They can't pass this up.

I think you guys forget that Garth Snow is kinda over a barrel here. His guy is demanding a trade, so the onus is on him to make something happen quick and put this behind them. But honestly, the Oilers need this too badly...I can't see anyone out-bidding them.

Edmonton needs him BAAAADLY but Winnipeg would be lucky to have him as well. Dude is a fantastic stay at home guy on a good contract. I'd take him on any of my teams.

Re: Andrew Harris.....pretty sure nobody's against bringing him in, in principle, but the question is how much is he going to command on the open market, and how much are you willing to pay the guy? I don't think anyone thinks he's an elite level guy anymore, but is he going to ask for elite level money?

Been a bloodbath at major market radio/TV today. Tough one for a lot in Toronto and Vancouver, among other markets. Likely more to come soon....

Curious question that I'm not sure needed it's own thread, but: What do people feel is the Bombers most pressing need this off-season (aside from an OC, obviously...player personnel only)?? Do we need to retool the OL, or were schemes the problem that got Willy killed again? Do we need better receivers, or again, is it the offense? Another DE opposite Westerman and an upgrade at DT? What's the #1 thing to look for in both recruiting and FA this offseason.....?

Moore, Denmark and Matthews on the starting core, with Dough Alert and Gudino.....Adams as depth or in some situations where you run 4 IMP REC......unless they can somehow recruit a young quality receiver outta the states....

Moore is absolutely our best receiver and there's no reason we couldn't have both. You push Darvin Adams back to depth player, which is where he should be.

So I finally watched Goldfinger on the weekend. It was neat to see, but man old movies are just so awful. And the action sequences comical.

Curious how much gas is in the tank for Harris. He hasn't looked particularly great the last couple seasons, but not sure if that's him or the Lions...

Ottawa beat guy also reporting on it, saying the RBs nearly had him signed a couple years ago.....so *if* he came back to Canada, certainly wouldn't only be Bombers in on him.
