I like Manibertans! Not too shabby.....the girlfriend, while born and raised Calgary, is actually full-blood Manitoban. Parents are from Sandy Lake and Brandon, and all family from there. So our house, in terms of decor, is basically a shrine to The Bison. Bombers, Jets stuff everywhere, and plenty of pictures of "back home".... Definitely Manibertans.... No Wheat Kings merch? :o :o I have one hoodie, and need more stuff!! The greatest shame is the lack of Goldeyes stuff! Need both Wheaties and Goldeyes merch in here....that's a project, for sure!

What disease do Winnipeg Sports teams have?
Noeller replied to IC Khari's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Let's maybe bump this over to Hockey Forum, eh....? -
Sweet -- thanks -- we'll definitely make a run. Have had success at the LC along Regent (across from KP mall) in the past....

I've gotten into some stouts, but I just can't enjoy them most of the time. That Phillips sampler has good variety, but I keep just falling back to the IPAs anyways. I'm biased. Dave will try and sway you toward the ESBs....I'm a big fan of Red's. There's a new one from Village Brewery called "The Huntsman" that I really enjoy. Earthy....ton of flavour. I'm a fan.... I've had a few ESBs and I liked them. I even enjoyed one so much (the Super Cooper 14 Year Special that Phillips did) that I bought another one. Some good reds out there too. Just not a lot of options at my local LC, they're big on the IPA train right now. We'll be getting in late next Weds night for GC Week, and one thing I'm really stoked for is wandering the LC to see what kinda options they have while we're home. Curious how the selection compares to some of the "private" stores we have here, in terms of craft beer... What part of town are you staying in? There are a few specific LCs I would recommend. At a buddy's place right smack dab between the Stadium and Barley Bros, on Pembina......but we'll be all over attending events. Spending time in T-Cones, as well, to visit the family.....

Both Pascucci and Dave Naylor get the nod this year, and both are huge CFL fans. Nice to see that passion being rewarded.

The longer I'm away, the more I'm reminded how much I love it, and how much I need to defend it. The funny thing is, I've never lived in Winnipeg, and as a Rural Manitoban, I'm not always a fan of it, but living in AB, I find myself defending Winnipeg all the time. But yeah, absolutely, the longer I'm away, the more I realize I'm #Manitoban4Life. Just a matter of time before I find a job to get me home full time.

Lol....Nenshi is unconfirmed as of now...but this is super funny and likely true.

I prefer late-May/early-June....."No question, we'll be at least a 10-win team this year!!"

Barrett is an interesting name to me, if only because he and Willy have done some good things together in Buffalo.....curious if he'd leave the NCAA, tho....

True. Myself personally, I would find it hard to separate so many in a short period of time. If I'm going to binge on the weekend, I'm usually going to keep it to 1 or 2 different brews, max. Usually, it's rye for me on a weekend bender. But every now and then.....we had us a tastin'.....

I'd take just about any of those options on the list except for Lapo.....Jesus Murphy that's not a whole lot better than Bellefeuille.....

Dat would be the record completion percentage in 2005, Bob!

All I’ve heard for three years is how no one wants to sit in minus-30 conditions for playoff games in CGY. Fair. I guess plus-10, too. — Scott Mitchell (@SUNMitchell) November 16, 2015 When the marquee franchise can't get 35k or so to a semi final their is something wrong Look back over the past couple decades and see how attendance was for semi-finals in both conferences. 26 is probably right around the median, maybe slightly above. For back-to back semis in 2002 and 2003, the Bombers drew 22,000 - 23,000. For the 2007 semi-final Bombers drew 23,000. BC, Edmonton and Calgary have never been know to draw great crowds for semi-finals either. Sasky was 3000 short of a sellout in 2013 for the semi. Seems like a reasonably fixable problem for the spiffy new commish. to solve...seriously. Makes no sense that attendance drops off for playoff games. To start with don't crank playoff ticket prices up above regular season prices and start the season 2-4 weeks earlier to keep the fair-weather fans interested. They didn't crank ticket prices up in Calgary though. Tonnes of $35 - $45 tickets available too which is the same price those seats sell for in the regular season. If teams choose not to sell playoff games as part of their regular season packages, which I believe Calgary does not do, then it will be tough to sell 35,000 individual tickets for semi-final games. The best the league will do is move the season up one more week so the first week of the regular season does not overlap with the final week of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Another factor is the draft. The league will not move the season up any earlier than mid-June (late-May for training camp) due to the NFL and CFL draft. People need to accept this. If by some crazy chance we see a 10th team in the CFL, the Grey Cup will happen an additional week earlier in mid-November. Here's hoping... Calgary isn't as rock solid in their attendance as people want to believe. Too many NFL only douchebags in this town who don't give a **** about the CFL. Too many economic migrants that have no past connection to the Stamps or Calgary in general who just want to jump on the flashiest party train, basically soulless zombies attracted to bright, shiny objects. Like I said, douchebags. In polite company, we simply refer to them as "Calgarians". All present will normally respond with a knowing "ah, yes, Calgarians" and nod sagely I refuse to even refer to myself as an Albertan because of this known fact of them. I prefer, simply, "Manitoban-in-Alberta"....

You tried all those over the weekend?? Indeed I did. It was a slow weekend. Good for you. Wait til you have kids. Don't put your evil on the rest of us.......*knocks on wood*

Back in the good ol' days, when I first moved to Alberta, we'd start around Noon on a Friday and kept the good times rollin' till late Sunday night..... There's few things I enjoy more than a good craft beer tastin'. This is how you find out what types of stuff you really enjoy.

Oh please....that's a Tuesday night watching SHIELD around our place....

I was trying to find a way to say exactly this, and you hit it on the head. This is Calgary to a tee...."What's the cool thing right now? We need to be a part of that!!"

Owens started tailing off a couple years ago. He's a special player, and still has enough gas for a few big plays per year, but he's not the elite level guy he once was. Years of wear and tear....

Do the LCs just sell generic growlers, or do they sell ones specific to the brewery? We picked up a growler directly from Half Pints this summer, but the people at FGB had no clue whatsoever. Would like to get one from them at some point...

Watched nothing but CFL and curling all day. Proud to be Canadian. Have zero interest in American stuff.

From everything I've heard and been told, that's essentially Wade Miller. He's an ******* in business, but thankfully he's OUR *******...

The sheer volume of racism and xenophobia I've seen on social media today makes me physically ill. Ashamed of our society.
