I would say that just because the OL as a whole played well, doesn't necessarily mean Foketi had a good game. Thing is, Foketi himself said it was going to be a rough game for him because he'd only ever played LT, so playing RT meant having to do everything backwards. I think everyone expected it. Woulda been interesting to see how he progressed into Game 2, but good to hear Hardrick is back. He's been solid on that outside....

If he takes his faith really seriously it makes sense.....and radio doesn't pay well in Manitoba anywhere. Outside of guys like Wheeler and Burpee, nobody's getting rich.

Kelly as show host was my first thought. I've never listened to Edmonds call a hockey game, but I don't think anyone's going to be leaving the post of NHL PBP to take on a friggin' morning show in Winnipeg. What might be interesting is a print guy with some radio experience coming over...those guys are all trying to find a life raft to get off the sinking ship, so a guy like Penton or Wiebe, who've done a little bit of radio, might be an interesting option. I still think you need an experienced jock to take on a Morning Show Host spot. It's the anchor for your station...the Morning Host brings in your audience, and it's up to each show after to try and maintain the numbers as best they can.

Ya you need an actual radio person to be the host. I would think if he's just a morning jock, they can find anyone to fill that spot. There's a ton of guys in the city with radio experience who can talk sports. You can bet that the current "next in line" at the station will want the gig pretty bad, but it'll be up to the PD to decide if he's ready or not. I know JR is currently looking for radio work across Canada... Have seen tweets to that effect recently... But if he's got a bad history with current management he won't be coming back anytime soon...

What is Leibl's role, exactly? I know of him, but not familiar what he does there. They'll promote from within if they feel they have the talent to do it, but they're not scared to spend money if it's the right fit.

On this topic, I'm curious where Nichols contract tops out, with max playing time bonuses and stats bonuses, etc....because Tait mentioned in a piece over the weekend that there is a bit of a cap crunch for the Bombers if Nichols earns everything he's got in the contract...

The CBC cuts away from the Olys, which they paid through the nose for, to show a concert which they're losing a boat load of money on (paying expenses, not taking in a single cent of income), and people are going to complain about it.....******* Christ. Was a fantastic concert....but more than that, it was a fantastic EVENT. Had a blast watching it on Saturday. I'm never going to be considered one of those hardcore Hip fans, but I definitely love the music and it was fantastic to be a part of something with the entire country. More than 11-million people tuned in (one third of the country!!) with more than 4-million watching on TV alone. Unreal. And really glad The People's PM, JPT, who is very much part of that generation that grew up with The Hip, was able to come and hang out.

It's an interesting read because the guy clearly knows football, but there's some bias showing, for sure.

Lotta hindsight here re: Harris and Ray. Second half of last season Harris didn't look all that good, IMO, and there were questions about whether the first half was a bit of a fluke. Ray is a legend... One of the best of all time. It's not as cut and dried as some would like to make it based on this season so far.

I think we're dealing in relative terms, but he did take a cut. Thing is, none of knows the actual dollars and cents...

Hope the Riders beat or are at least competitive vs Edm next week. Want them thinking they've righted the ship before LDC...
