Good one.I'm interested in seeing how our goaltending situation is after 15-20 games.
By far the biggest question for me, and I personally believe that's what decides if this team takes another step forward or falls back again. Jets get quality goaltending, they make a strong push for playoffs. If not, they'll really be in tough.
The only tweet I saw after the game said the team was not making him available to the media. I think some people just like to cry and think the worst all the time.
I think apologizing for missing 4 field goals & a convert was unnecessary as Liram didn't mean to do it. He shouldn't have run off the way he did after the game as that was wrong. He has to learn how to face adversity & deal with it when it happens. Not 3 days later. Hopefully lesson learned.
He didn't run off -- the team made him unavailable to the media to shelter him.
Massive understatement. This team is a shell of its former self. Their D is so bad right now, it's almost unbelievable. All they really have going is that Tuuka Rask is still pretty damn good.
Bucknor plays way too far off the receiver. I don't know if it's because he lacks speed or what but throwing under him is easy as pie. Somehow he still manages to get burned deep too so I really don't think much of him. Not sure why he is even on this team. Surely Walters could have done better by now.
Every corner in that position plays off the receiver. Better to give up a short pass underneath than get burned for a big play over the top and if the qb floats the ball out to the wide receiver then the DB has a chance to break on the ball. Playing off is simply playing the way he's asked to because there is help under neath from half backs and linebackers, there's no help over the top.
Wait......you know you're defending Bucknor...........right?
You remember that Willy did play in 17 games last year right? I'm not on the fire Oshea bandwagon (yet) but we can't use that excuse for last year as Willy did not go down early. This year, certainly we can.
Sorry...."start and finish and was even relatively healthy"........
Tough to judge him when his franchise QB has gone down early in both his seasons at the helm. At least now we have a competent back-up. Gotta give him next year for sure...
Payroll is lower this season than the two before, right at MLB average.
Nice of MLB to schedule the Jays ALDS home games during weekday afternoons so nobody can watch.
What is this about it being scheduled in the afternoon? They haven't even determined the time.
For us in the MST, it's like Noon on Thursday, and 10:30am (!!!) on Friday...
Really surprised about Draisitl, but they figure it was between him and Slepyshev, and that was no contest. "Dr. Drai" will benefit from seasoning on the farm.
The optics of the situation do not allow for extending him, unless something really crazy happens the rest of the way here. Now, if he starts off fast next year, you extend him early...absolutely.
He set a club record for completion percentage last year on his way to being the East Div MOR. He's having a sophomore slump and I guarantee you, there's nobody who wants to fix it more than him.
Kid had the yips real bad. Can't forget all he did last year. He'll get this worked out but it might take having a separate punter. This stuff happens and I just feel bad for him more than anything.
Yeah, Drew Willy is outstanding and I think a lot of people have just forgotten for whatever reason. I like Nichols, and what he's doing right now is actually admirable, but there's a big dropoff there...
