  1. Healthy Drew Willy wins the Argos game that Marve nearly did, likely wins the recent Stamps/Esks games and who knows what else. I'll fight to my death that this is a playoff team with a healthy Drew Willy. Having said that, I know it's a fool's errand to play What If.....so I won't. I'm just not even close to being as negative about the entire organization as most of you seem to be.
  2. If your win loss record reflects who you retain as an assistant how can it not point to a problem with the HC decision making process? Who else was available? It was rumoured that Oshea had wanted MB out mid-season but was told no by walters or miller. Probably because nobody better was able to step into his role. Now, offseason at least gives us a fair chance to lure someone or bring someone else in.. Can anyone really argue against the fact that our offense was the biggest glaring issue on this team? If we had even an average offensive performance most nights we probably come close to .500 and a playoff betth. But, again, the question is going to be "What would the offense have looked like if Drew Willy was healthy for 18 games?" Is it MB or the lack of a competent starting QB? For what it's worth, I'm on the team that says a proper OC would find a way to keep DW from getting killed every game, and for that reason alone, MB needs to go. Better OCs have found ways to keep their QB healthy with worse talent than we have at OL.
  3. ...I know everyone would rather scream and yell and mope and, generally, be negative about the state of the franchise right now, but there is still a game to be played. Here's hoping that the new kid shows some promise and gives us something to look forward to going into next year...
  4. Regardless of the gravity of the climate change situation, optically it looks good to change the name of the portfolio....
  5. Rock died sometime in the late 80's and early 90's. Everyone knows rock attained perfection in 1974. It's a scientific fact. u must be a grand funk railroad fan Just heard 'em last week on the King Biscuit Flour Hour....
  6. Broken left clavicle and while no explicit time frame given, Chia says "months"....
  7. If it brings in non-football fans who may stick around and watch the rest of the game, I'm all for it. The half time act is really about the TV audience.
  8. Who says it's gotta be rock and roll?
  9. Anthony Crispino, is that you? Did ya hear disss?? Also Ballard was around late 80s and died early 90s I think. ******* punk kids.
  10. Contracts aren't guaranteed....doesn't hurt a damn thing to sign 'em all up, if you can, and then recruit like a bastard in the off-season, and whoever wins the job in camp, so be it.
  11. I'd take pretty much all of 'em back, especially the NIs, and then if someone loses their spot in camp next year, because you recruited SO WELL, then perfect....
  12. Lots of planning went into not only ticket sales to the game, but also the events during Grey Cup week, all which have exceeded budgeted expectations. The gala dinner alone will be the largest indoor banquet ever held in Winnipeg with over 200 tables sold. So what has hurt the football club in ticket sales to the game so far, has been made up and then some with the huge response to the festival events. I don't think there is any concern with the amount of revenue the football club will earn, which is a big win for this organization. This is fantastic news! Saw that a lot of the festival events were sold out or nearly, so we bought our TD MB Social tix online the other day, just to be sure, as that's the only one we really wanted to attend. Going to be a really great time. Can't wait to make the pilgrimage back home in a few weeks to take it all in!
  13. that's how I know you're good people....
  14. Like the link states, picking a cabinet has never been about "Best Person Available", so if that's the case, why not make a positive statement with it? If we can find competent female MPs to take half the positions, I'm all for it.
  15. Gotham was good last year, but it's great this year. Last night might be my favourite episode of the series so far. I didn't want it to end...
  16. The whole point of the half time act is to bring in an audience that isn't there for the football already (why Bieber was a perfect choice) and if you're telling me that Fall Out Boy is relevant again (I honestly had no idea they'd done anything since 2003) then this is a great option. And Brody for the opener will be cool. His piece of **** "Bring Down The House" aside, he's a solid Country radio act right now...
  17. Yeah, only reason I care is because I don't want to give CFL haters another reason to tell us "CFL SUCKS!" This...100% this....
  18. I grew up in Pinawa....we're taught from birth to beware the anti-Nuke voice out there. My grandfather was a nuclear scientist who worked his way up the ladder at Atomic Energy of Canada and created Whiteshell Nuclear Research Establishment in the 60s, along with his team. We were taught various "emergency protocols" throughout school, just in case something should ever go wrong out at "The Plant", but nothing ever did. The amount of safety measures in place...especially after incidents like Chernobyl and Three Mile Island.....really kept the dangerous stuff at bay.
  19. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2oyksr Super Girl, in a nutshell.....
  20. The girlfriend wanted to get into Super Girl, so I watched the pilot with her....holy **** was that bad. She likes it, because it's basically a Katherine Heigel movie. Ugh.
  21. well about an hour till they announce it apparently. Not that I really care about who the half time act is, but the music nerd in me says "**** please don't let it be a ****** band like Hozier"...
  22. It won't be Danny Barret, and honestly, I don't have a hot clue who might shake loose. But it better be someone damn good...
  23. Ultimate hipster rock band. Only know of them from SNL last year. That would be a gigantic yawn for me. Eric Church however... Now that would be epic.
  24. Hmmm Linkin Park. Interesting. Have they had a hit in the last decade? I'm outta touch with the rock world...
