So if the best coach in the world loves Toby, how come you wanna trade him?
-
It was the young Rogers kid that did it...effectively the CEO of the organization......but AA turned it down. Wanted 7 years and full autonomy, apparently, and they were only willing to give 4 or 5, I think I read. And man, if you don't know how much AA gave up in the David Price deal, you need to go and check. AA sold his soul to the devil for a chance to win a WS and it didn't pan out. And the grand irony is, it was the prized pick-up Price (who they paid the most for...) that didn't deliver. And he's likely to bolt during this off-season as well. So THAT, in a nutshell, is why AA got chewed out by Shapiro...

17to85 was just saying to me in FB chat, never mind the fine, they should be guaranteeing him MODP for doing everything he can to get rid of Burris... -
Anyone who said anything negative about Harper hiding immediately, is an idiot, period. And this is coming from one of the most anti-Harper people ever. He's your chosen leader, so you do everything to keep him outta harms way.

Myers is an absolute beast. Him and Trouba on the same team is an absolute dream. Hell, Chiarelli would kill some of you talking about your D depth...
-
You're a team with depth enough to run Tyler Myers, Toby Enstrom, Dustin Byfuglien and Jacob Trouba as your Top 4 D, and you wanna DEAL 2 em??? Good lord....
-
I laughed...apparently in the year-end meeting, the first thing Shapiro did was give AA **** for trading away their entire future. Cupboards are pretty bare now, after AA sold his soul for a World Series. AA apparently wanted total autonomy for 5 years, and Shapiro laughed at him, so that was that. Those two were not going to be able to get along.
-
I was on the team exec committee during the 06/07 season. There's First Nations members on the team and they don't want it changed. This is white people complaining for the sake of complaining.
-
Myers and Trouba are your untouchable D.....gotta have 'em. Every single team is looking for guys like that.
-
Good to see after all that a loony tune can still walk into Parliament and start shooting people. All I know is it's likely Harper's fault......................
-
This....each one is tuned to a different key, so you can swap out from song to song, without having to stand there and tune while the audience gets bored. Standard practice.

Prior to his retirement, my dad worked in protective services for a federal agency (firefighter by schooling, later security and first response as well) and immediately after 9/11, they got a MASSIVE increase in their annual budget and the perceived importance of their job changed completely. They began training with the RCMP out of D Dvision in Winnipeg and a bunch of other stuff. Short story: the government took security at all federal facilities EXTREMELY seriously post 9/11, so if I had to guess, I'd say the PMs personal detail 24/7 woulda been beefed up...

If True North is involved in helping book the band, I wouldn't completely rule it out. TN already handles the IGF booking iirc. Nobody in Winnipeg has anything to do with booking the entertainment for Grey Cup. The league itself is solely responsible for the Grey Cup and it's half time entertainment. The team is waiting on the announcement as much as anyone else. It's all up to the league.

The pre-taping for stuff like this, and awards shows, has more to do with timing than anything. They need to make sure that the half time fits the TV schedule, and it's easier to do that when they have the exact time ahead of time.....thus, pre-recording.....
-
So an American, semi-relevant Rock act.......very interesting.....
-
If it's not Getzlaf or Perry coming back, I'm not interested...
-
Because that's what a sitting MLA needs.....**** sakes....

For years, people lost their minds around here because our management team didn't do enough. They screamed about how other teams were proactive, even if it meant bending the rules a little bit. Finally, we have a 3-man (Maybe 4, if you count Wade as 2 people...) crew that works together in lock-step on all issues (as has been reported ad nauseum) and is reportedly so angry about how this season turned out, they're now already working toward fixing things for next year. And people continue to wail. Let's all just take a step back and relax a bit....

Don't contact any team during the season. The season is over in a week. If it's a playoff team wait until they're eliminated or win the Grey Cup. Play by the rules & at least have integrity. Like I said, how would we like it if the roles were reversed? As fans we would be upset. What goes around, comes around. If you think that this sort of stuff doesn't go on all the time in this league, you are very naive. And you are.... what GM??? You have no clue if it does or doesn't. You just think it does. If this was the Stamps doing it, you'd be all in favour and screaming about why Miller and Co aren't. This is why I don't take your bitching seriously...no matter what you rabble rabble about "old school Bombers fan!!11!", you're a Stamps fan first and foremost......

Should wait until the stink is off. It'll take awhile to air out that legacy...

I'm gonna guess Arkells. Not Canadian. Check again. He's saying the band that is tentatively scheduled is not Canadian, therefore it's not the Arkells.......(...not saying the Arkells aren't Canadian, as they obviously are...from Hamilton area...)
