Is Henoc Muamba pi**ing away his football career?
While I want the league to be strong, I'm also sick of us being responsible for bailing out these Eastern teams (plus BC) because they don't have enough fans to make a go unless they're winning all the time. Toronto especially....just makes me sick how much has been done to prop them up over the years.

You could not pay me enough to sit through an entire NFL game. I would be more likely to sit through a soccer game, if it featured a Team Canada of some sort...

The Day Before The Game Thread
The way I look at it, if you care about the long term health of the team, this game has a ton of meaning. Knowing that the US Scouts have finally been doing some good work (questionable the last couple years) and the CIS drafting is making a mark has a lot of meaning to me...

Is Henoc Muamba pi**ing away his football career?
Funny thing, I was just thinking back about 5 years......remember when EVERY spring we'd go "Is this the year Montreal takes a major fall-off??" and they never did. Then *BAM*.....they didn't just blow a tire, but the whole engine has seized up on the side of the highway. That team is a wreck right now...

You beat me to it -- 90% of Sask "fans" don't have a hot clue who anyone in management is. They see the team lose and go "FIRE EVERYONE!!!" and that's about it. Again, it's *mostly* passive fans over there...

Effort will be the biggest thing to look for. Schemes and things will be vanilla and there's bound to be a lack of precision overall, but there's no excuse for lack of effort. Balls out every play..- Coach's Show

Well, they've created this "If I'm from Sask, I have to wear the green, because everyone does..." but all that will go away with some losing. Make no mistake, it's not a myth that all of this ramped up because of the 2007 GC....- Around The League Off Season Discussion
I have the utmost respect for people who had seasons tickets through the Al Ford years and carried on as hardcore fans through Danny Barrett and Roy Shivers, and got rewarded for their loyalty in the good times. The problem is, there are VERY few of those kind of fans. Real fans. No question, the Riders have way more passive "fans" than any other team in the league, and that's how they get so much merch sales. But I've said before, and I'll fight for this forever, that the Bombers have way more hardcore, real fans, who are there through the bad times and good. We just don't have as many passive fans... - The Day Before The Game Thread
