  1. Okay, I'll be the guy: He's a giant *****. He complains and begs for calls all the time. They call him "Palms Up Crosby" for a reason. Bottom lip always out. Skates constantly with his head down, and when he gets clobbered for it, everyone else is the villain. Bullshit.
  2. The point: MOS knows NIs playing the MLB position. Sam Hurl is not likely to be that guy...MOS knows better.
  3. Well, you'd better let MOS know, 'cause that guy doesn't know a damn thing about NIs starting at the MLB spot...........
  4. Potential for him to be a big part of things this year, even as a rotational guy and ST. He's a quality NI.
  5. Yeah! Thats him! Safety/WIL, I believe.....do you seriously not remember Graig Newman? Was a really huge deal that we picked him up last off season and was projecting to be our starting Safety (??) and was a fairly significant blow when he got hurt....
  6. 95% of the criticism he gets, I don't understand at all. He gets the most attention from the media, so it comes with the territory. People criticized Gretzky & Lemieux as well for being floaters, whiners, etc. It will happen with McDavid too. Could you imagine how much hate Gretzky would have gotten if he'd played in the age of the internet and social media? And mighta been even worse if cell phones had existed in those days, considering the amount of public partying those kids did back then around YEG...
  7. This, 100%, is something that's very important for me. I'm in NO WAY a comic book nerd, and have a really hard time with anything "out there" that requires any kind of nerd imagination. All the stuff in the Thor movies is not for me, and Guardians of the Galaxy was really not for me. I love Captain America because it's grounded...it's reality, in a lot of ways. The biggest way AoU slipped for me was being a little too fantasy-sci fi-nerdy....
  8. Both Quenneville brothers will stand out....guaranteed.
  9. logo is cool, but I'd hoped for a True North compass point in there somewhere...
  10. Seemed to me that they weren't trying to make him a cold, emotionless killing machine for this movie. They were really trying hard to blur the lines between Good Guy/Bad Guy, and they made Ultron a character that really believed he was the good guy in all of this and made you question whether or not he was right.
  11. Apparently Varga went according to Drew @ Hamilton Spec...
  12. He was our best RB throughout camp. Really quick and able to find seams.
  13. ...and by all accounts stood on his head...
  14. Real good news...excited to see what the kid shows this summer and hopefully fall!
  15. Good for Goltz who was (is?) a good guy and loyal ball player. Awesome for Pinball Clemons who is one of the best things to ever happen to the CFL...
  16. I'm curious.......are there a lot of people on here that think Willy's play just declined as the season went on, as opposed to being a victim of injury, and that it wasn't necessarily the same QB in the 2nd half....?
  17. When they first came back in 2011, and people in AB were asking me about it, that was the line I used a lot. That's what I remember most from growing up in the 80s/90s...
  18. It really is the exact same thing. It's getting gross.
  19. That's just a silly game to play. If we played that game 2 months ago, why sign Stanley Bryant, cause he might get hurt. Go with the smart money, start Taormina and save 80 grand. What a silly answer. Bryant is a known upgrade over January and we sorely needed O line upgrades. Well worth the money especially over a guy who shouldn't be starting in the first place. Willy's a sophomore starter who was great for the first 5 games then looked like a rookie for the rest of the season. If he was one of the top 2 QB's in the league, we'd not be having this discussion. BTW: The point I was trying to make, which went over your head, is that we have a lot more on the line if we give Willy his 150K raise, 100K of it as a signing bonus than we do if we simply wait and let him earn his raise. You're right there's hardly any risk involved in allowing him to play out the last year of his contract and test free agency while we also have his heir apparent (to some) hoping to head to the NFL next offseason. Worse comes to worse, Bombers lose Willy to 2016 free-agency. Marve wouldn't commit here and wanting to exhaust his NFL options. Brohm might take the same route. And we end up with Portish. ...FINALLY!!!!!!!!!
  20. ...and they've known for a very long time that an extension would be (hopefully) necessary, so there can be no doubt that this wasn't part of their plan all along.
  21. I never said we were against the cap when I said Vega's cut may be related to a Willy extension. You're talking like you know, when in reality you have no clue what our cap situation is.Let's say Walters projects to be $300k under the cap before the season starts. A Willy extension puts him over that, so he cuts Vega to sign Willy and still allow that $300k cushion. Regardless of your thinking related to the cap, you're making it sound like one had to be done, in order to do the other. This...people thinking we're hard against the cap, so we need to clear out space to make room for 100k. Can't possibly be true...they're not that stupid.
  22. And? All Winnipeg reporters had to do in Florida was focus on mini-camp... Point is, still gotta get to Florida. I'd think it's easier for a media outlet to send people down the road to the stadium than it is to send people all the way to Florida. $$$$ That's the point... if the newspaper has spent $$ sending these guys to Florida, send back actual content. "Ehhh...good enough. Everyone's focused on Jets right now anyhow..." There is room in the media to focus on 2 things you know. something something ADD Generation something something......
  23. All of you who think that 100k is going to put us in a financial bind re: SMS, must really think Kyle Walters is a moron....
