We're making the trek out for the June 5th weekend (first full weekend of TC) just to hang and take in some camp, and I plan on posting thoughts throughout. Apparently the word is, they're looking at Chiarelli for KLowe's old gig, which was President and head of hockey ops. So MacT would be doing grunt work, but the final word will always be Chia. I'm only okay with this if it means that MacT isn't allowed to make any kind of decisions...

For everyone complaining about the lack of coverage at Mini-Camp, trust me, I'm with you.....but I also understand that with the Jets in playoffs, the media has a pretty clear focus. That's what the majority wants to hear about, so mini-camp is gonna take a back seat. I have no doubts that the Bombers woulda been a little more of a priority if not for Jets playoffs...

They won't make a lot of trades, but Chiarelli in for MacT is the quickest and surest way to respectability for that team...

I'm inclined to want to agree with people saying Buff is a liability, bit it's difficult to disagree with Coach, who is playing Buff big minutes...

The only time the Winnipeg media wants to talk to an assistant is when they don't have access. I bet you wouldn't even need one hand to count the number of interviews with assistants that were done when the media had unfettered access to them. This is all the result of the media talking to Gary Crowton and hearing the opposite of what they were hearing from Tim Burke. I think it was a reasonable reaction by the team, but the ban should be lifted now that we are in the second year of O'Shea's tenure. There has never been a suggestion that it was a club rule. Mike O'Shea has said it is his decision. Absolutely this...MOS was an assistant under this rule, liked it, and implemented it here. I, for one, like the idea of a unified front. One voice, one message.
