  1. solid? Ian Wild was one of our best D players last year, period. Not only is he going to make it outta camp (barring injury -- knock on wood) but he'll have a monster season if he can, again knock on wood, stay healthy.
  2. I honestly thought the number would be WAY bigger when you factor in the people who just wanted to be there for the new stadium, and then how bad the team has been. This is a drop in the bucket. Hell, if you're anywhere near 21k in ST, you're going pretty damn good. Hopefully the WBB FC realizes how fortunate they are to have a fan base this passionate and loyal to a team that really hasn't given them a whole lot in return lately.
  3. Wait...was someone in here actually trying to say that there's national support for basketball in this country? Lol...awesome.
  4. if I had to pick a final, I'd hope for Chicago/Boston just to get the best hockey possible. Two truly GREAT teams that would provide incredible drama and entertainment by way of some high quality hockey.
  5. Can't it be both like the late Earl Warren?
  6. ha!! Poor Ol' Shrek Bezemer...
  7. I will sacrifice as many 17to85s (see: virgins) to the gods as necessary in order to appease them and break this terrible curse we're under...
  8. nah, make it something truly painful: They have to sit and listen to Iso and Nate talk about how everything WBB was great in 1965, Osborne Stadium was better than anything currently in the league, and that they wore onions on their belt... Well, Noeller. At least I've seen the Bombers win a Grey Cup unlike you. I never went to Osborne Stadium as that was before my time. By the pictures I've seen, it looked like an interesting place, though. I was born in 1980...I've seen 3, ftr...still have the 1990 penant on my wall. I want a new one...
  9. Oklahoma, I believe...
  10. I'm not completely averse to trading Janvier, but the return would have to be something really necessary...don't trade him "just because". He's done too much good for us during some really trying times to just get rid of him because we have a few imports kicking around that *may* be able to fill his spot. All this said, it really seems like silly talk...unlikely to happen.

  12. MOS says in the FP today that the Bombers *need* to take someone (regardless of position) who can step in and start this year. Needs to be a Day 1 starter....so take that for what it's worth...
  13. No GM with half a brain is going to tell everyone else who he intends to take in the first round, so the entire list is, essentially, a sham. As Mike said, "smoke and mirrors" because nobody wants to show their cards. Therefore, "off the board" is a silly term, because you don't really know what the board is...
  14. There's something to be said for instilling confidence in a guy by letting him know what his job will be in June, so he can just go ahead and prepare for that. Also something to be said for not having any swirling controversy going into the season. Everyone knows where they stand...now go do your job.
  15. Yikes...not even through mini camp and we are tossing the first coach under the bus for not being good enough. Typically Winnipeg reaction
  16. In MOS We Trust, I suppose...
  17. It figures that Nate would go ahead and compare this to what happened in Southern Alberta last year......where the entire downtown of Calgary was under water, never mind nearly the entire city of High River! The sheer volume of water that consumed those places, vs some melting issues on a new building......I'd call it a crass comparison at the very least. Least surprising thing ever from MJB...
  18. a question: Why is Friesen the only "media" seemingly trying to make a big deal out of this?
  19. The self-entitlement from Friesen is stomach-turning. If Miller says there's nothing to see, then back off...
  20. Lots of tall DBs...but tall DBs who can play are the rare commodity. Even rarer because the tall ones who can play are in the NFL. If we can find one that can maybe be coached up...that would be something.
  21. Lotta new imports...gonna hopefully be a ton of competition in camp.
  22. C'mon, no love for Chicken On The Way?? It's one of the least healthy things I've ever had, but as far as greasy chicken and a mountain of fries goes, it's solid every time...
  23. 6' DBs...have to assume they can't cover for ****, otherwise they'd be in The League......?
  24. ...Because everything is offensive to them...
  25. A lot of what you guys are saying smacks of hyperbole if not for Patrick Neufeld absolutely backing it up. Gonna be really interesting to watch the OL through camp...
