  1. The **** I do during the 15 minutes post-game...........Christ almighty.......
  2. I remember being ****-scared during that time. I have no doubts that Mr. Asper (as with most of you here) is a very nice person, but as with all overly-passionate lunatic fanbois (and fangirls...) you don't want them in a position of power like this, where rash, knee-jerk decisions can get you in a LOT of trouble.
  3. My issue with Asper goes back to when he was head of our BOG and ran on to the field that one time, screaming at the coach. (Was that during Daley's time?) Asper is way too much of a fanboi, and anybody that's spent enough time around here knows that you don't want ANY of us in a position of power with the team, because we're all lunatics. Asper is a lunatic fanboi in a position of power. That's terrifying. Now, having said that, I don't believe (necessarily) that he's "Running the team" with Gene Dunn. That seems like a lot of speculation and conjecture from people who don't have access to the inside, so they're just making **** up.
  4. Really interesting presser. Offensive staff will have a meeting and give their recommendation on QB to Burke, who will have the final decision by game time, tho Burke said they'll likely know tomorrow as whoever gets 1st team reps will likely start. Sounds like MB really didn't think much of Crow's offense. Said it was an American -style that just doesn't fit the Canadian game. They tried to re-shape an American offense for Canada, but it just doesn't work that way. CFL is such a unique game, and requires a unique mindset. Will be really interesting to see what MB can do just by switching the play calling a bit...
  5. He changes when it's convenient for him. If the Stamps are doing well, he's "rah rah Stamps!" and if the Bombers are playing well, then he cheers for them. Whatever's convenient. His Stamps fandom shines through when he's shitting on the Bombers all the time. *cue* "Harumph! Harumph!! I was a season ticket holder in 19-dickety-6!! Cal Murphy! Bud Grant! Maaaaaatloooooooooock!!!!!!!"
  6. 5/7 came in the one game vs Calgary, which people just can't let go of for some reason. The rest of the time, he protected the ball really well. He showed a hell of a lot more than any QB we've had in a really long time. But again, if the kid is a dope and the coaches don't like him, that's a whole other thing....hopefully he grows up one day.
  7. How about a coach that is willing to try and improve a guys habits? How about we try a QB with some actual potential instead of trying to get a dud like Elliott back? Yep, them POWs showed what a dud he is...
  8. It's ridiculous...completely unfounded.
  9. No kidding...what a giant pile of **** this is. **** Rod Pedersen.....
  10. Boooo....really wanted to bring the kid in.
  11. talked with a reporter yesterday who said the coaches hate that Elliott doesn't watch film and doesn't prepare properly. Said that Tim Burke really doesn't like the guy and that's being polite about it. So, no....no JE under Tim Burke's watch...
  12. Anyone who actually takes messageboards seriously needs to really get a reality check. I couldn't care less if my real name is used or a handle. I'm pretty open about who I am and what I do. Whatever...
  13. And Irving says to expect Max Hall, so who knows...
  14. I think it's such a simplistic thing to say "Defense gave up points, fire the DC". It's what fans who don't know the ins-and-outs of the game say, because it's easy to process. He's shown too many good things with this team to just can him outright. Let's see how comfortable Burke is with Bellefuille at the helm of the offence, which will hopefully mean that he (Burke) can spend more time being hands-on with Creehan and the D, which can only be a good thing. I still really believe there's enough talent on this team to win, and they just need to get away from the circus atmosphere and just play football. Things can still turn around.
  15. Fwiw - Irving thinks Max Hall gets another shot, Jim Bender says they'll go back to Buck. I'm not 100% convinced Crow was the issue, but whatever. If yournna clean house, then clean house. Crowton's an easy one because he's not owed any outstanding money.
  16. Talent is NOT the issue. Mack haters have an axe to grind, but the roster has lots of great players. They just aren't playing for whatever reason. I dont know if canning em now and paying all those salaries is the right idea but something has to give. Too good to lose this way...
  17. White owl is dangerous 'cause it doesn't have the burn...next thing you know i'm yelling at things off the back deck.
  18. Moved from Morden to a town of about 8000 in 2007. About an hour north of Calgary. There's a lot i miss about MB (fishing at our Victoria Beach cabin...sigh) but AB is pretty great. Once you've lived in the mountains, its nearly impossible to live anywhere else. I just bought for 230k but its a 2007 1300 sq ft starter bi-level. Housing is steep but Wpg has gone up a ton, too...
  19. Not sure about hop city but yes to the others. Good stuff!
  20. When youre a grown up, you will understand how great that taste is...
  21. If i *have* to drink generic mass produced stuff, Kokanee is the way to go. Craft stuff is what its all about tho. Good beer and good rye make life worth living. Just shoot me if i ever get into wine, tho. Gross.
  22. Alright, just got to the city... 1) Mike i did think you were black 2) Love the devolution of this thread 3) While im primarily a rye guy (crown or gibby's only), 17to85 got my girlfriend and i into beer snobbery quite heavily. I was a kokanee guy for a long time, but only drink craft beers now. I love a wheat ale, but a red is mighty fine. Buddy in town owns a liquor store and can order in anything, so we get a whole section of great stuff like Grizzly Paw, Wild Rose, Pumphouse, Granville Island, Fort Garry, Half Pints. Bottom line - life's too short to drink swill...
  23. Would be a huge fan of bringing the kid in. I like Palardy and Renaud, but O'Neill is a gooder, and that beard is something you could build a franchise around. Get 'er done, Mr. Walters!
  24. ...and still, somehow, better than us or Montreal. No question Hamilton is the logical choice after Toronto...
