Should we "lose out" on Burris, it's really not the great loss some might make it out to be. Hell, some would say we dodged a bullet. Ending up with Glenn and Willy would be a-ok with this guy...

Unable to do so as he is still property of the Riders. Do we know if the Riders made an offer? Last thing mentioned is that they're going to let him go to FA because they like their 3rd string more than him...

I think it's more because he knows this is probably his last stop and he's trying to suck out as much money as he can before he retires. And that's totally fair on his part. I never fault any pro athlete for taking as much money as they can get, while they can get it. Careers are short, you gotta max it out. He owes it to his family, at the very least, to get what he can.

If he does end up in Ottawa, I'm more than okay with Glenn and Willy, which should - in theory - cost less, too...

With the cap going up and the new TV deal and all that, 350 isn't really that bad, actuallly....it's not 2005 anymore.

The truth is, nobody except management actually knows what the Plan A truly would have been if all players 3 players had hit free agency at the same time. We only assume Collaros was Plan A because he was the first one available. he was offered legit starter money. he was plan A. thats not what Penton said. Call it spin, but WBB apparently didnt offer huge money to ZC because HB became their so called Plan A.

there's no question about whether he's a douchebag or not...it's about whether you're willing to accept it in exchange for him putting up big numbers in the summer, and fading in the fall...

Which should be a very real concern. Burris has said himself that he doesn't like to be challenged for his position. He's basically a player that you need to coddle and if you even think about questioning his position on the team he pouts. Not a good team mate or leader. Hell of an athlete but dumber than a stump and very needy. You really have no way of knowing whether what you are spouting is true or not! It may be how you feel about things, but that doesn't make any of it true! ...There's actually a lot of history behind his statement. Burris has proven it in Calgary and in Hamilton, and we've seen it via quotes and things from coaches and teammates...

I kind of sort of agree with this, in as much as I think this is worst case scenario for us. I think there's also a best-case scenario, and what happens is just as likely to be somewhere in the middle. I think we have to assume Walters knows what he's doing and has other plans at NI Reciever.

He's been begging for a situation like this because after his brother moved out to Calgary and became a Stamps fan, Dave moved out and does everything his brother does, so now that Richard is a Stamps fan, Dave has to become one. I've been really big on that kid since last summer. I have way more faith in him than Collaros, to be honest. I'm no Burris fan, not by a long shot, but having Burris (for a stop gap) and Willy and Hall, would easily be our best stable in a long LONG time...going back to maybe McManus' playing time in Wpg...
