  1. ...In my mind, he'd be unquestionably the greatest of all time, if he had ANY kind of work ethic.
  2. All of the bellyaching is based on unfounded information at this point. You may all turn out to be right, but it's too soon to tell. Let's wait and see what Kyle does.
  3. The problem is that, other than Higgins (whose qualifications are questionable), the person you are looking for doesn't exist. If they really did their research and determined that Walters is the best guy out there, then I have no problems with it.
  4. ...also of note, going in next year: Uzooma Okeke (awesome!), Ben Cahoon, Neil Lumsden (for his CIS work) and some Coach/GM named Wally...
  5. ...as per Penton. Congrats Blink!!
  6. Yeah, I was thinking "assholes stick together"...
  7. ...and for what it's worth, Madani says "If Jones is indeed Esks new HC, look for Doug Berry to be his OC..."
  8. ...the hell.....what happened to Hughey Jr?
  9. The impression I got from reading the papers all week is that Miller has been talking to everyone and anyone during GC week in Regina. If he talked to a bunch of front-office types from other teams who said "We like Kyle, we respect Kyle, we'd have no problem working with Kyle as an equal in the league..." then, I've got no problem with them moving forward with him. If they get McManus or someone like that to work the connections south of the border while KW does the CIS stuff that he's clearly gifted at, then what the hell. Just because he's an "easy" hire, doesn't make him a bad one. Time will tell if this is the right move, but for the time being, I'm willing to give it a shot. Now, who the hell do we get as HC...
  10. http://ht.ly/r69YU Kyle Walters all but official as Winnipeg Blue Bombers GM 0 FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2013 01:45 PM CST is all but official that the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will make Kyle Walters their permanent general manager, and it will likely happen early next week. According to a CFL source, Walters has told at least one potential head coaching candidate that he will have the interim tag removed from his title. Walters, who became Winnipeg’s assistant general manager last December, has been the team’s interim GM since four days after Joe Mack was fired in mid-August. There has been speculation the Bombers might ask around the league and interview other GM candidates, but that does not appear to be the case. It has been expected for some time that Walters was going to get the job full-time, even though there are more qualified and experienced candidates out there. After Walters is officially installed as the GM, the next task for the rebuilding Bombers will be to name a head coach and then have him construct a coaching staff. According to the source, the Bombers have asked for permission to speak to Toronto Argonauts defensive co-ordinator Chris Jones and Calgary Stampeders defensive co-ordinator Rick Campbell. Winnipeg is also expected to ask for permission to speak to Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterbacks coach Khari Jones, who appears to be the leading candidate to get the gig in Winnipeg thanks in large part to his relationship with Miller. The Bombers have to wait until after the Grey Cup if they want to speak with Jones. There are reports the Bombers have also asked for permission to speak to Argos special teams co-ordinator Mike O’Shea, who has connections to Walters, about the head coaching gig. In addition, the Sun reported earlier this week there are rumblings that Canadian Football Hall of Fame quarterback Danny McManus, currently the head U.S. scout for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, is being eyed by the Bombers, likely for the assistant general manager position .
  11. Those guys swore up and down during the pre-game of the last Bombers/TiCats game, that there was absolutely no way they'd be behind schedule at any point. They had assurances, and yada yada yada. They were snickering about what happened with the Bombers site, and said without any hesitation that it wouldn't happen to them and everything would be done on time, no questions asked. God, how I'd love to see them get ****** right around, too...to hell with those guys.
  12. totally where I'm at...
  13. While I'm not declaring Willy a world-beater yet, I'd say that I like what I've seen from him about as much as Collaros or more. I'm no more sold on Collaros than I am on Willy.
  14. exactly. And to the poster who said "so you'd take Taman back??" -- Yes, in a heartbeat.
  15. It'll be a small fine...
  16. It's so unfortunate that the moniker "Old Boys Club" has gained a bad rap, 'cause there's something to be said for it...
  17. And as for the SMS, they basically had no choice, as there was so much pressure to win this year at home. In fact, if reports are to be believed, he was told to "do whatever it takes" and that they'd worry about any potential SMS cap penalties later...
  18. I finally saw the Big Bang episode where Sheldon used the line you have adopted. Funny stuff. we're pretty sure they have hidden cameras in his house, so they can record new dialogue for Sheldon to say on the show...
  19. was yesterday's FreeP...a re-hashing of a text convo with his BFF Lawless. I love Taman, but take one look at the guy and you can see that football life has been ROUGH on the guy...
  20. Can he? He's never been a GM with a salary cap. I believe he was for 1 year, and he failed epic-ly at it....but I could be mis-remembering.
  21. I honestly don't know enough to know who would be the best coaching candidate. I would like to hear from Miller as to what exactly they're looking for in an HC. I'd like to know what their list of qualifications is and why....
  22. He's a died-in-the-green-wool Rider, through and through...he KNOWS he's going to be the GM there before too long....he has zero interest in coming to Winnipeg. And that's not the kind of guy I'd shell out big bucks for, to try and pry him away. Totally not worth it.
  23. Token interview...I just can't see O'Day ever coming here. Taman would come back here before O'Day...
  24. Jones vs O'Shea is the same risk, and I'll take Khari all day because at least he has Bomber history and you know he desperately wants to be in Peg City.
  25. Jeremy O'Day.....*fart noise*......**** that ****. I'd rather have Mike do it....seriously.....
