I looked at the league stats page, and I don't see knockdowns listed on there... but when you combine that with his sack totals, Willie had a really great year. I'm not saying he's going to beat Betts, I'm just saying that Betts is wildly overrated.

funny, we've been so consumed talking about Brady, we didn't talk much about Hardrick's chances...... with our running game being as dominant as it is, usually that team gets represented for MO-OL... combine that with the general love-fest surrounding Yoshi, does he have a shot? Is there voter fatigue for the Bombers winning MO-OL?

Honestly, the only reason people are talking about Betts is because he's Canadian. His season wasn't that different than Willie's... they had stretches of dominance followed by lulls then put up more stats again. As Booch says, Brady was consistently great all year long and is far and away the Most Outstanding Canadian... and possibly the MOP of the league.

this really comes down to a lot of people with votes who don't really understand what they're voting for.... and there is going to be a league-wide desire to jerk off the Argos for their nearly-undefeated season. Simply put, as the "most important player" on this Argos team, Kelly will get the MOP votes. Not for anything he did, really, but for what the Argos did as a team and his role within that team.

financially, for sure.... I think my thought is more that the RBs might see them as redundant. Both as "upside/potential yet unproven" guys, and would be looking for someone with more experience, if they've already got an "Our Next Guy" in the stable. I'm sure they'll hope to keep Piggy as the 3rd, so if they're going to bring someone in, it'd be more likely a proven veteran. I know those are in short supply, but just saying that's my thought on my why I think the RBs (and other teams) might not necessarily bring in Dru Brown... that they don't necessarily see him as a step above the Crums, Dolegalas, etc... of the league...

fwiw, being that it's a Saturday, I've got no problem with them pushing back the time of the game. Yeah, it's November and it's going to be chilly but whatever... it's not like an hour makes THAT MUCH of a difference. I like that Hardrick got the nom. In a year where Stan didn't necessarily stand out as his usual dominant force, it feels like a good time to mix it up. I would have personally gone with Paddy, but I feel like everyone LOVES Yoshi and there's a good chance some of the national media give him some love. At any rate, it's a nice feather in the cap of a guy who's been incredible, but living in the shadow of the best OL of all time. As for the other stuff... I want to believe Brady O takes West MOC/MOP, but never underestimate the media's ability to make truly stupid decisions. It should be Kelly vs Brady for the MOP and Kelly wins because he's a QB, and as Dunny said on a recent broadcast "they just have so much more to do on the field... so much more responsibility".... so they'll give it to Kelly. Plus, anything to jerk off those assholes a little bit more. I do think Brady wins league MOC, though... Betts will win MODP for sure. At any rate, I'll trade every one of those awards for a big silver chalice on November 19th, so I can put my "Defend The Cup" sign back up again...

I don't know if other teams see Dru Brown as a better option to what they have now, as much as fans here do. Like we all love him and think he's got a future but does Ottawa think he's better than Crum, when Crum had most of a season to get reps and Brown came in two or 3 times?
