I'm not completely averse to trading Janvier, but the return would have to be something really necessary...don't trade him "just because". He's done too much good for us during some really trying times to just get rid of him because we have a few imports kicking around that *may* be able to fill his spot. All this said, it really seems like silly talk...unlikely to happen.

MOS says in the FP today that the Bombers *need* to take someone (regardless of position) who can step in and start this year. Needs to be a Day 1 starter....so take that for what it's worth...

No GM with half a brain is going to tell everyone else who he intends to take in the first round, so the entire list is, essentially, a sham. As Mike said, "smoke and mirrors" because nobody wants to show their cards. Therefore, "off the board" is a silly term, because you don't really know what the board is...

There's something to be said for instilling confidence in a guy by letting him know what his job will be in June, so he can just go ahead and prepare for that. Also something to be said for not having any swirling controversy going into the season. Everyone knows where they stand...now go do your job.

Lots of tall DBs...but tall DBs who can play are the rare commodity. Even rarer because the tall ones who can play are in the NFL. If we can find one that can maybe be coached up...that would be something.
