Just curious (and am being sincere...) what makes O'Shea a good candidate, other than the media saying so for every open job the last few years?

What's worse, I know people who were "fans" of other teams, who went there and bought IN to that bullshit, and are now Rider "fans" and tell everyone else that same bullshit about "you have no choice..you live here..." Get ******...

No thanks. How you can do it I have no idea. True story that I would never get hired to do radio in Regina because I couldn't talk up the Riders. I've had that discussion with people from there before, and it's probably the only market in the country that I can think of, where you absolutely have to buy in to the Rider culture, because it's so ingrained in the entire province. "You're one of us, or get out" is truth there...

In fairness, it's a pretty fun place. Just don't tell 'em where you're from...

There's no question Berry was an ******* who let things get outta hand, and forced Bauer to get rid of him. Probably some credibility to the idea that he'd be better suited as a position coach...

Noeller had a room mate back then who was a diehard rider fan and I remember quite clearly one night while we were all drunk this guy says with a straight face and in all seriousness that Nealon Greene is just as good as Khari Jones... The level of delusion amongst that fanbase, I also recall rider fans at some point trying to claim that Szarka was as good a FB as Mike Sellers. I am not looking forward to the week long circle jerk that's going to happen for "Canada's team" I hate Burris very much but I have no doubts that I'll be cheering hard for him by the weekend just because I'll be so sick of everything green. ...To this day, you go down to the Flying Goose Inn, in LaFleche SK....they'll fight you, if you say otherwise.

and, revisionist history aside, we had a pretty good offense with him, too. Our opening drive, in particular, was very good under DB. He always had something scripted that almost always worked. The man might be an *******, but he was a good football mind...

This is all true. Also on the impossible to like list are Durant, Sheets, & Chamblin. I took the Stamps loss last week almost as badly as I would a Bomber loss, just b/c I so badly wanted Calgary to have their dressing room and win a Cup in their home. There problem with some Ticat fan posters, yourself excluded, is they seek out other sites to troll. For the most part Rider fans just take part in being knobs on their own site. But at least these guys "trolling" our site actually know something about football. They're clearly fans. The biggest issue with Rider "fans", by far, is that they're among the least knowledgeable in the country. As Dave mentioned, they know less about their OWN team, never mind the rest of the league, than the average person on this site knows about the Riders. Yet, they go around talking like they're the best football fans in the world. They make me sick, period.

Absolutely -- but that doesn't mean we have to accept everything, "just because". That's the kind of thing only Spuds does....and nobody wants that. You still have to be a critical thinker and question everything. But yes, people who actually know....are far more knowledgeable than those of us who frequent these forums.

I've never ever showcased this mentality via this statement...not once. When there's proof to back up this kind of statement, then I make it, but I was very quick to call down Mike Kelly's insanity. Did you type this with a straight face? Yes because it's the truth. If people prove themselves worthy of my trust, as Mack did, then I believe them. Kelly earned distrust very quickly.

There's absolutely nothing to back this statement up. I dunno which one of 'em will be better or if either of 'em will be worth anything at all, but at this point....nobody knows anything.

Southern Alberta.......life here is tough when the Riders are doing well. Praying for Burris to somehow find a way to absolutely bend the Priders over and give it to 'em raw.
