Fans are morons and can't be left in charge... I wouldn't let any government agents near these selections. You may as well keep the board the way it is if that's the case. The city and province both appoint board members currently. Some strong arguments for communist dictatorship here from some of the most conservative posters. I'm curious who people feel should be at the very top of the food chain. At the end of the day, SOMEONE has to have final say. There has to be a top of the pyramid.......so who should it be??

Only way this idea works is if there is a pre-selected pool of "candidates" that the fans get to choose from. If it's an open-nomination situation where the fans get full selection on the board, God help us all.....

Bullshit. Don't tell me we can't afford him. We've got just as much money as anyone, even if a lot of it's "hush hush" under-the-table stuff. If we've gotta overpay to get the right guy, then they'll do it. I'm certain Miller knows the story, and the mucky-mucks have learned their lesson. They'll target the right guy and make sure he's taken care of.

I don't care what kinda dollars you gotta pay DD, or if you gotta get him an "Ambassador" job with a Crown corp, and throw a bunch of $$ under the table. Whatever it takes.

We parked for free at the BPs on Pembina, had a few pre-game pops and a bite before the game, and then walked to and from the stadium. Worked out really well, actually, and isn't that far of a walk. Seems there's lots of options like that...

I dunno.I guess we'll see as time goes on, won't we? I make it to a couple of games a year because I live in Calgary. So, what happens in Winnipeg really has no affect on me. I just know here in Calgary that the C Trains run right to McMahon Stadium & carry thousands of fans on Game Day. There's also places to park around the stadium so fans have a choice to take the train or car. As far as Corus Apps go, I have a Blackberry with another 3 months to go on my agreement. With a new phone I can start downloading apps like that. I have the Corus app on my BB (old 7.1 OS) and use it all the time...

I'm not disagreeing with the ratio, but what I'm saying is that none of us actually knows who's making the decisions on that stuff. I mean, we ASSUME Burke does because he SHOULD be, but we really don't know anything. I think there's a lot of people making decisions and a lot of bad ones are being made.

this is why I don't really care for all the Tim Burke hate...sure, he's gonna eat some, but there's a LOT of people to blame here.

I think it's interesting we haven't heard a peep out of Miller's office in awhile....he's due.

Definitely going to be some backlash after last night, if only because it was in front of a home crowd. Inexcusable. Attendance the rest of the way is going to be horrid. Only real reason I'd agree to Burke firing at this point, is to just put the guy outta his misery. This current mess certainly isn't all on him, but it's not fair to keep putting a guy through this. For his own good, and out of mercy, let him go so he can get a good night's sleep.

The only thing in the last decade that really got the fan base to rally around the team, was Swaggerville. Best thing to happen to the franchise in God only knows how long....

At the very least, I am extremely excited to bbq a steak on the back deck, tip a couple ryes and watch a (hopefully) good 'ball game tonight. Been awhile since I've had a Friday night off, so this will be good, come hell or high water...

...I mean, I do....but does anyone else? I'm not rose-coloured enough to think about playoffs, but I'm not ready to start thinking about next-season-auditions yet, either. So, I dunno about y'all, but these days I'm watching for the sake of watching a good football game. It's always fun to watch the team win, regardless of what it means in the big picture. Here's hoping for something to cheer about.....
