Week 5 - Back to Back Champs at Lions - Week of thread
Mr. Perfect replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
There's only so many balls to go around. Ellingson and Schoen are undoubtedly our top two receivers. I would say Demski is firmly the #3 target, when playing. Factor in the running game, and it doesn't leave many opportunities for Bailey. I don't think it's a reflection of him per se. I wouldn't be surprised if he put up great numbers in an offence where he's designed to be the second or third target (I say that because I don't see him as a #1 but that's just my opinion) but when the roster is as stacked as ours, he just isn't going to be a focal point of the offence. -

1. Zach Collaros - I mean, it's crazy how three games against mediocre teams can make some people think a given player is the new best QB in the CFL and forget about Zach's body of work since coming here in 2019. Best pivot in the league, and it's not close. 2. McCrae - Only 6 touches but looks like a threat every time the ball is in his hands, and apparently very capable of running routes down the field too. Perhaps an evolving X factor in our offence as the season progresses. 3. The hogs and the ground game - How sweet it was to watch our big boys pushing our running backs from behind like they use to. Also great to see the YPC stats of both Johnny and Brady. HH - Our leadership core. Jefferson, Jeffcoat, Biggie, Collaros. A lot of chatter after Monday about how the Bombers have been winning, looking and all the jazz. All led by example last night. Hope the haters and the critics enjoy their quiet time and chalk up yesterday as a learning experience not to doubt this team. It won't always go our way, but, you can rest assured when push comes to shove, we'll be there in the end.

Always great to see old "faces" from the OB days.

Not surprisingly absent from the festivities

Yes. He was. -
BC scores at least 7 points less with BA at safety

Imagine....imagine thinking a Rick Campbell led team with a rookie quarterback was going to beat a Mike O'Shea coached team with Zach Collaros. People need to step back and keep things in perspective a little.

You're welcome. -
Rourke so legendary he doesn't even finish the game. Enjoy the Gatorade and the shower lol.

Big **** Zach!
-
Sure - but you can still make a better play on the ball than that. Judged horribly.
-
Misjudged the ball horribly in the air.

What will the excuses for Winston Rose be now?
-
Absolutely a push off Stop making sense.

In the jungle, the "mighty" jungle, the Lion sleeps tonight....

It's almost like this is a well coached team that has won the Grey Cup the last two seasons...
-
Vanilla offence, Bombers in trouble, Ottawa playing better teams, blah blah blah... Taste it.

Modern day Ed Philion

Yes AC, it was very clearly you that was offside by 3 yards. No need to pat your chest repeatedly about it.
-
Given his age and declining production I'd be surprised if he had many offers - and Ottawa had money to burn given their joke of a roster last year.

I have to give TSN props on one thing, I'm TOTALLY digging the playing of the old CFL and FNF football themes as part of the 25th anniversary of FNF. They're so much better than the current themes TSN uses.

I wonder if Lapo still makes his players stand up in the middle of the locker room after games and state why the penalties they took in the game were bad and how they will try not to do it again...
