  1. Got a RTP against us a few weeks ago in fact if I recall correctly.
  2. A chance to get ahead of the curve when it comes to the crossover. BC crapping themselves against Ottawa in the final moments was a huge help. This week they are on the bye and Toronto and Montreal are tied at 1-4.
  3. Considering the giving mood Kavis Reed was in yesterday its a bit surprising Kyle Walters wasn't able to get more of a return. (Sort of kidding)
  4. Good luck selling that to a new GM once Kavis is fired at the end of the season.
  5. You'd think not. But it's Montreal so... In all seriousness I hope Manziel does well. It helps him personally if he does well, and it also helps the league too significantly. It has already helped the league and he hasn't played a down. Unfortunately given the state of the Montreal roster, I can't help but feel this is career suicide for him.
  6. Granted there are other parts to the deal, but 2 first round picks and a Canadian starter for a QB that hasn't played a down yet is beyond lunacy.
  7. 1. Andrew Harris. Harris = Touchdowns. Harris = Wins. It's nice to see him with 20+ carries after last week's baffling total of 13 given his YPC and that we had led the entire game. 2. The o-line, but specifically Paddy Neufeld. I've never been a Neufeld fan because of his inability to stay healthy and his previous work on the line when he played on the right side, however left guard has treated him quite well. I was worried about the drop off between him and Bond prior to the year but you haven't really noticed Neufeld much this year, and of course for an o-lineman that's how it should be. 3. Drake Nevis. After a poor showing most of last season he's bounced back nicely. Great to see the tandem of him and poop in the middle. HH - Dressler, and the point I want to make is he always does the little things right. I don't remember what quarter it was, but there was a catch he made on the sideline where not only did he have to high point the ball (to the best of his ability given his height) but he also turned his body in mid air to protect the ball from being knocked loose by an incoming defender.
  8. Scheme fit it was just an odd signing to begin with. Outside of Adams we really don't stretch the field vertically much. We use a lot of the intermediate game coupled with misdirection and play action to free up players in the flats to gain YAC. What made Bowman so successful in Edmonton over the years (last year's down year noted) is that their passing game is dependent largely on going down field and taking advantage of the fact with Walker and/or Zylstra, you couldn't really double team anyone with safety help because the free receiver would kill you. Live and learn I guess but the inability of this regime to find a new, serviceable import receiver is a bit concerning given how long this scouting department has been in place.
  9. Franklin is going to be sick when he watches that on film. Wilder wide open in the flats, waving for the ball, but forces it to Cross on the corner route.
  10. So poorly coached. To have this happen in back to back weeks against awful football teams is baffling.
  11. Hurry up offence trying to get points before the half and you run three times. Brilliant.
  12. Hurry up offence, trying to get points before the half, and Lapo runs three times. Wow. Like I said in the Lapo thread. Great creativity in his plays overall but his situational calling is absolutely terrible.
  13. And I did. I said his creativity was probably the best in the league. His situational calling however is average at best, and that's reflected in the game tape and our overall record.
  14. Which is why I referenced more than 2002...but thanks for coming out.
  15. ...I was referring to 2002 when Lapo was the OC here as well, and Khari was the quarterback, hence why I also mentioned Charles Roberts and Milt Stegall - not Khari's success, or lack there of as a playcaller. Thought that was obvious. Lapo is a guy that would rather give a carry to Andre Sadeghian with the game on the line (and he did for the folks that remember that name - and failed miserably) than give a guy more than 13 carries with a YPC over 10 in a game that you led all the way until the final moments of the fourth quarter
  16. You can easily apply the same logic to Marcel Bellefeuille. If you can't make it work with Khari Jones, Charles Roberts, and Milt Stegall, you aren't going to make it work period.
  17. He's been fired as many times as he has in his career for a reason. Is he the best in the league when it comes to creativity? Yeah probably. Does he call plays effectively based on the game situation? 50/50 at best.
  18. Just finished watching the game. As Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells said: "You are what your record says you are.", and without a doubt the Bombers are the worst team in the CFL west. How a team looks on paper is truly irrelevant.
  19. I see the same thing is happening again that's happened the past two seasons.
  20. Agreed. This team has been "good", and content with being "good" long enough. 11-7 and a first round playoff exit is getting a little old, and at this rate, 11-7 would take a miracle. This team isn't going 9-4 down the stretch. Not a chance.
  21. If this team took the points when they were available it's a moot point. That falls squarely on us.
  22. Good enough to hang to for a few years but will never take you to a championship.
  23. Nichols in the clutch period is something I have no confidence in - especially on the road, and especially against the Lions. His track record in the playoffs and regular season speaks for itself. Anyone have confidence against Bo Levi or Reilly come November?
