  1. You mean running hitch passes to Dressler five times in a game for negative yardage isn't a good idea? Well damn.
  2. Wind is blowing pretty good from the north right now (parallel with the field), especially when it gusts. It will be an important game for the kickers if it doesn't die down.

  4. Goodspeed I believe was part of that crew as well, unless I'm getting my years mixed up. I thought he did well for us until his final season with the team.
  5. Damn Curtis Steele letting me down in the end. Was a fun/lucky week, especially with two debacles in the opening two weeks.
  6. I love Milt, I really do. Just as much as the next person. That said, considering Earl Campbell was the first to say that - and given his spot in the history of pro football, Milt's point is a weak one at best.
  7. It's 2016 and tie games still exist in football. Awful.
  8. If your lock of the week scores twice, does it eliminate a strike? Kidding.
  9. I was hoping for them to pound it up the gut there too. Unfortunately when Goossen is your centre, you're probably looking at a wasted play.
  10. This is the issue I have with just about everyone declaring doom and gloom for us (not saying that you are) before tonight, and still after tonight's win. It's week three. Hamilton beat Toronto, Toronto beat BC, BC beat Calgary, Calgary beat us, we beat Hamilton. For anyone to pretend like they know how things will play out this season for us, or the league as a whole, you're kidding yourself.
  11. Some random thoughts in no particular order... - Another week, another gradual improvement. Would we have won if Collaros was playing? Likely not - But many teams have wins over us the past few years with us playing our second and third string QBs - Early Brandon Banks TD aside, the special teams coverage was outstanding tonight, especially from Waggoner - Ian Wild had a nice bounce back game - Front four came to play big time - Shayon Green has no business starting ahead of Hubbard next week should that be the decision O'Shea/Hall go - Nice to see a running back in a gold helmet fall forward as he's being brought down - Clutch plays from Macho Harris and Mo Leggett - Medlock was outstanding on his kickoffs. Still missing too many field goals considering his paycheque, granted its only been three games. Personally I would not have been opposed to bringing back Lirim this year, and I say that without hesitation. You don't put up the numbers he did as a rookie by accident - The offence wasn't flashy by any means, and seeing the TSN replays it appeared the majority of our routes weren't testing the DBs deep - Which is fine given the cushion they were allowing across the board - That said, the rare times we did try to stretch the field the plays were there, they just weren't converted aside from the Adams play - Anyone wanting to disagree about the offence improving - Only one two and out tonight. Chew on that - Still some infuriating play calls by LaPolice - QB draw on 1st and 20? - Ryan Smith - Madden '99 glitch - Loved seeing Shologan blow up Gable on that shovel pass - Masoli clearly a student of the Cam Newton school of fumble recoveries - Neufeld and Goossen are painful to watch. Thought Hardwick and Bryant had decent games - Liked the work from Jace Davis tonight. Not jaw-dropping, but steady and reliable. - Hoping next week the offence can continue to get better against an Eskimos defence appearing to be missing Chris Jones calling the shots. Improvements were made tonight. Still need to get better to be consistently competitive however.
  12. Well said. I was surprised by how Steinhauer had his DB's playing all game. Still giving plenty of cushion well into the third and fourth quarter despite us only stretching the field a select few times.
  13. Two weeks of play, regardless of how good or bad provides very little as to how a division will play out over a full season.

  15. Always been a fan of Mark Nelson. I liked what he did defensively for the most part with our team when he was here under Mike Kelly.
  16. It's far from "this administration". Most franchises in pro sports, football and hockey especially are like this.
  17. "If you listen to the fans, you'll be sitting up there with them." - Buddy Ryan. Defensive coordinator of the '85 Chicago Bears. I get quite the kick when fans act like like they know more than coaches who are not only respected, but respected on both sides of the border. Comical and priceless.

  19. I get that everyone has their opinions as to what went wrong tonight/what is wrong with the team and they're entitled to that regardless of how incorrect they are in terms of legitimately understanding the X's and O's of the game and what they're actually watching. So with that it's refreshing the select few that actually understand what's going on and why this team has issues. Well said JBR.
  20. Mike, curious for your thoughts on BC and Ottawa in some detail when you have time.
  21. West Calgary 12-6 Edmonton 11-7 Winnipeg 9-9 BC 7-11 Saskatchewan 6-12 East Ottawa 11-7 Hamilton 10-8 Toronto 8-10 Montreal 7-11
  22. May I kindly suggest you pick someone else this week? Or for the season for that matter...

  24. Unfortunate considering past history that Bomber STH could not get dibs on seats as well...
  25. I like the haul as well all things considered. I just hope at some point the magic beans start to pay off. Here's hoping.
