Bombers Sign Macho Harris and DL Sheyon Green
Mr. Perfect replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
If Macho Harris is on this team come the start of the regular season, that's a massive fail by our scouts. -

Sooooo....do we get compensation? -
League will fold mid season.

The trickshots were indeed a CFL promotion, and shot way before Lirim's kicking struggles began.

When you sign a one year contract with clear intent of trying the NFL again, I don't think being a leader in the Als locker room is a priority for him. Doesn't mean he's bad in the locker room, but he clearly doesn't want to be a leader and that's fine. -

When your quarterback was Jonathan Crompton at the time, he's both. -

He isn't wrong... -
Glad you brought up Mason Crosby. He had one year (2012) at 63.6 per cent, and followed that up with seasons of 89.2, 81.8, and 85.7 per cent respectively. No reason why Lirim can't respond, especially given the fact, like Crosby prior to the down year he showed he can kick at a high level. Off years are a part of sports. It happens. It doesn't mean a player can't rebound and be very productive. I'd hate to see Lirim sign elsewhere and be productive while he pay a hefty price for someone (granted, proven if it is Medlock) given the passports of the two.

As was pointed out ad nauseum for the people who want to female dog just for the sake of female dogging...again...running backs coach is the typical starting point for any person getting into coaching REGARDLESS of what position they may have played during their playing days. -
Makes all the whining about what was taking so long rather comical. Just relax and sit back and let the process play out. Fully agree with Noeller's comments. It's a big upgrade over Nick Moore despite his age for around the same money. Familiarity with Willy and Lapo is a definite plus as well.

So much this. Find me one Rider fan whining and complaining when the press releases came out that these guys were signed. -

Agreed. That being said I'd look at Dressler for the right price (not sure what that would be admittedly) given his familiarity with Willy and Lapo. Chick I'd lean more towards passing on. -

Chick finished tied for fourth in the league in sacks with 11. Couple that with Westerman's 17 on the other side and that's some legit pressure coming off the edges. However as you mentioned Chick is on the wrong side of 30. How long before double digit sacks become a thing of the past for him? -

According to the press release Jones tried to negotiate more cap friendly deals. Couldn't come to an agreement. -

Sask. Roughriders @sskroughriders 1m1 minute ago The #Riders announced today DL John Chick and WR Weston Dressler have been released by the team. http://ow.ly/X4HRD -
Kind of odd how the NFL has done this. Basically the Chargers have a year to negotiate with the Rams to come to an agreement. If not completed the Raiders will then get dibs to negotiate according to Adam Schefter's Twitter account.

#SKOLVIKINGS!! Absolutely priceless and comical. There's a reason why they have the history they do as a franchise.

Come on now horrible?? http://cfl.stats.com/cfl/playerstats.asp?id=336211 His stats are way better then the crap we fielded in the last several years and he runs real hard. I'd have zero issues if they signed him. Too bad he carries the ball like a loaf of bread, hence why he's been benched multiple times because of his inability to hang on to the football. -
My bad. Thanks.

Thoughts?? Shut up and take my money!!

Personally I don't see how it's a dangerous precedent when it's clearly a promotion for Jones. As for the assistants, as has been said the vast majority of them have had their contracts now expire.

Apparently while doing his TSN gig he's attended 10 NFL camps held to improve and come up with new offensive Offensive plays. A guy who is willing to do that on his own dime and time is serious about improving his OC abilities. Time to forget about the old days guys. Give him a break. The old days (02-03), the not so old days (10-12) - Neither of which produced the ultimate goal, nevermind the fact that he has 13 years of coaching experience in the CFL and no championships. Pretty weak in an 8/9 team league. Sorry but I have a hard time trusting someone who had faith that Gary Crowton would be able to run a capable CFL offence.

We know what the changes will be. Build leads, decent rush stats, good play action calls, and ultra conservative in the fourth quarter with leads which is bound to cost us a couple games a season. Ok. We're 12 and 6 instead of 14 and 4 I highly recommend you do some fact checking before offering rebuttals. Rick Warman was the team's offensive coordinator in 2001 when the team went 14-4. The Bombers went 12-6 the next season, and 11-7 the year after under LaPolice. Steady regression as has been the theme throughout most of his coaching career with the exception of a few outliers. There's a reason why we fired him...Twice.

True and in my opinion this is starting to be an issue for the league. I believe it was Madani who tweeted something along those lines either yesterday or earlier today that there is a lack of blue chip coaching prospects out there at the moment league wide. One could make the argument that in some regards the team didn't have a lot to choose from, but at the same time it doesn't make me feel any better about this hire as we've seen the end of this movie twice already...
