He'll get a look from other NFL teams. Highly doubt he'll be in the CFL in the next few weeks.

Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming 26s27 seconds ago Henoc Muamba, former #Bombers first-overall draft pick, has been waived by the Indianapolis Colts. He is a CFL free agent.

Tom Higgins was obviously the problem... -
Exactly. That's the other thing. It's quite convenient that Marve is hurt. But who knows.Marve did his post game presser too after the game and no issues were raised. Bombers don't usually let injured players do interviews. Very good point.
-
I was thinking that too. Maybe I need to remove my tin foil hat, but I don't recall Marve hobbling around terribly before he was pulled last week (granted, Joey Elliott finished a game on a torn ACL for us), and there seemed to be no reason to believe up until just now that this was going to be a long term issue. He was well documented knee issues of course, but yeah, I was thinking something seems "off" here...Pure speculation on my part of course.
-
Except for the fact his throws have always been errant, as evidenced by his low completion percentage whenever he's seen game action.

Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming 2m2 minutes ago Robert Marve's leg injury is apparently serious. The #Bombers have placed the quarterback on the 6-Game Injured List.

Arash Madani @ArashMadani 3m3 minutes ago Per #CFL sources: The BC Lions are out of the Shawn Lemon sweepstakes. Down to Winnipeg and Ottawa.

Couldn't have said it any better.

Oey... gary lawless @garylawless 2m2 minutes ago Early thinking out of #bombers camp is that Nichols will be on roster but won't start Sunday. I'm told Marve is hurt - expect Brohm to start
-
Pretty much echoing the comments already, for a conditional 7th, I'd do this in a heartbeat. Not a big Nichols fan but he's a hell of a lot better than Marve or Brohm.

Good for Bobby Dyce. Highly doubt his interim basis will go beyond this year but I'm certainly happy for him.

Do or Die Detailed Half Time Report...
Mr. Perfect replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
One problem....actually a few... Yes there of course is such a thing as rookie mistakes, but there are also mistakes that you simply should just know better as a quarterback playing professional football. The first pick across his body - Inexcusable regardless of experience. He's not an accurate passer, he can't read the defence, and he's starting to get happy feet in the pocket as well now that he's getting acustomed to playing behind out line. It's not about looking like the "second coming of Warren Moon", it's about there being something as a passer, not a runner, that you can build off of, or something that flashes that makes you say as a coach "okay, we can work with this", or develop this, something to that effect. You saw it with Reilly, Willy, and Collaros as they were breaking in. You're not seeing it with Robert Marve. -
Good Lord some people try WAY too hard...

Mid September at the earliest. Lets play hypothetical at for a moment...if we trade for him (we won't, but again hypothetical) then what? The line in front on him is still garbage, and the play calls are still garbage too. On top of that he's a guy that's a free agent next year, so he'd be nothing more than a rental to try and salvage a season where we are clearly miles behind the league's elite. Re-signing him is pointless for both sides as we have Drew Willy and Ray could find work in Ottawa (should Burris retire) or Montreal once Marsh starts trying to play sand lot football which he does after a certain amount of time, and Popp realizes he has a B+ Steven Jyles in Rakeem Cato.

I'm not implying Mike O'Shea is free of blame with the comment I'm about to make. Certainly that's not the case as everyone has a hand in as to why the team is in the state that it is right now. That being said, with two weeks to prepare coming off a bye, if that's the best offensive game plan you can come up with, that should speak volumes about your offensive staff, and OC. O'Shea's specialties, or whatever you want to call them are defense and special teams. For the most part, I think those facets of the game did rather well tonight.

Saw that tackle live on NFL Network. Shocked he got up after that.

Some random thoughts in no particular order… For as slow as he started at the beginning of the year, Jamal Westerman has done all you can ask for and then some. The defence is gradually improving. The pass rush was good today – Albeit against a banged up offensive line. Speaking of which, they have nothing to hang their heads about tonight (with the exception of one person in the next point). A pick six, and another that goes down to the four yard line pretty much seals your fate. Yes they gave up plays, but that’s football. Bruce Johnson shouldn’t have had a job after last season. This year is further proof of that. He may have limited experience, but some of Robert Marve’s reads and decisions with the football have no place in the professional game….but he can run so yay Marve, right?! That being said in his defence, when you’re in second and long all game, you aren’t going to have a lot of success, especially with minimal pro experience – That still doesn’t excuse his decision making. If you want to keep Robert Marve down the road as a third/gadget QB, hey, no issues with that, but if you’re counting on him to develop into a legitimate QB who can read a defence, and deliver the ball accurately AND smartly on a consistent basis, perhaps you should bet on the Toronto Maple Leafs winning the Stanley Cup this year. Any one (emphasis on one) still want to claim the offensive line “isn’t that bad”? Marcel Bellefeuille needs to be fired. Tonight. Is it going to help much in the long run this year sacking him? Likely not. That being said, this team is going nowhere this season, and he’s a big reason why. Hard to see us winning either game against the Riders coming up. Sure glad we have a first round pick to look forward to in May…Oh wait a second…. Two years is way too long not to find an answer to what ails the run game. Have we attempted a screen pass since Cameron Marshall’s touchdown against Toronto? And of course, last but not least…Anyone still want to argue against the value of Drew Willy to this team? No? Hmm, fancy that. Imagine him with an OC that actually knows what he’s doing. -
If I were Wade miller I would...

Our starting quarterback is out at least according to the team until mid-October. We're 3-5, have an inept offensive coordinator, can't run the ball, give up the most sacks in the league and are counting on a third string quarterback with a tendency to force balls he has no business throwing, and you expect our coach to go 5-5 down the stretch with two games against Calgary, and games against Edmonton and Toronto to save his job. Brilliant. -
To be honest I don't think that it matters. Have a hard time seeing us winning that game regardless.
-
Some people have WAY too much time on their hands...

Comical Riders. Absolutely comical.
-
Ball was never fully secured as per the rulebook. Correct call made.

Our centre is pathetic. Our left guard, whether it be Greaves or Neufeld isn't much better. Three out of five does not make a good offensive line.
