You think Rich as the site owner disrespects this community? His mantra is a giant middle finger to the community that visits this place? And the rest of the guys who volunteer their time to this place? You should be embarrassed for even suggesting such a thing. Do you know what Rich gets out of fronting the money for this place? How much of the revenue he takes for himself in exchange for the late nights when he has to do site updates or for the money that he puts up to pay for server fees, etc? Not a single dime. It all goes to you guys. The shirts we made, the contests we run, the season tickets we donated to charity on behalf of all of our members here. All of it is for our members, not for the people who own and operate this site. There's ONE guy on our moderation team that pushes the envelope. Me. You want to suggest I'm a bad site administrator? While you're at it, maybe find me some examples of how I've used my admin privileges in an abusive fashion because there's a difference between "mod abuse" and you just not liking my attitude sometimes. It's a deep draft so I'm not really concerned. It's hard in my opinion to see Toronto passing on Demski given Durie's age and wanting to keep the ratio in tact. I think we'll still get who we want - and I doubt it would be him considering the state of our line.

When it comes to B.C. I think we simply need to stay healthy. We showed earlier in the year that we can beat them quite easily when we have a healthy ball club. Yes they did beat us twice but we had significant injuries in both games. It's a team that doesn't impress me in the least, even with Lulay likely back under centre next year, assuming he stays healthy. As for Saskatchewan, we need to get bigger up front, and Wild needs to be the full time middle linebacker. I'll take our secondary against ours, though whoever is against Bruce Johnson admittedly would concern me a bit. I don't dislike Bruce Johnson by any means, but I don't think he is necessarily as good as some have made him out to be. Gets beat deep a little too much for my liking, but I like him in the short/intermediate portion of the pass game. Hopefully we can add another receiver whether it be free agency, or a rookie find to further test their secondary.

Your right, facts are facts, so lets look at a few: Willy finished the year over 3,700 passing yards which is the best mark we've had since 2007. His completion percentage is fourth best among CFL starters, and is ahead of Bo Levi Mitchell, and his touchdown passes is tied for fifth among starters as well. You can like or dislike Drew Willy all you want, I frankly don't care, but those are impressive facts for a first year starter. Yeah it's great Marve can scramble, good for him. The name of the game at quarterback is throwing the ball. It comes first far and away above anything else, and Marve has a long way to go before he's in Willy's league in that category. I must say I find it quite amusing that Troy Smith can complete 52.6 per cent of his passes last season, and can show an ability to run as well, yet have the critics he did (and justifiably so of course) yet Robert Marve can have worse passing numbers when averaged out, can be just as reckless, yet we have a "quarterback controversy" among our genius fan base (nevermind the fact that he's only thrown 22 career passes) because of how this town always loves the #2 quarterback. Don't get me wrong, I like Marve, and I want him to do well as he's part of our team, but he is the back-up for a reason. He is not better, nor in the same league as Drew Willy. Can he run and extend plays? Sure he can, good for him. That alone does not make him the better quarterback. Outside of Ricky Ray and Bo Levi Mitchell, there has not been a quarterback in this league the past 15 years that has been elite in his first full year as a full time starter, but there have been some good ones. Drew Willy is one of them. That's a fact whether you like it not, so get use to it. Without Drew Willy this season, this team wins no more than four games in 2014. Remember how Mike Reilly was last year? Lots of ups, lots of downs. That's life when you're a first year starter. You have to be willing to take the good with the bad. Look at how he developed in 2014 - There's no reason to doubt Willy won't continue to develop as well. Furthermore, lets look at some games where Drew Willy held us in as best as he could despite no running game: Week seven at home to Saskatchewan - We amass 37 yards rushing in the game and lose by six points. Labour Day - Grigsby runs for 68 yards and we lose by five Banjo Bowl - Grigsby runs for 66 yards and we lose by six. Week 14 - Grigsby runs for 42 yards and we lose by five. These are unacceptable rushing totals, and on top of that, for anyone who knows anything about football - Second and long all game is a defensive lineman's dream. There's two very good reasons why we gave up the amount of sacks we did this year - Our offensive line and situation football. While it would be naive to think we win all four of those games with Cotton in the line-up, I have zero hesitation in saying we'd win at least two of those four, which would put us at 9-9 and in contention for a playoff berth. You look at the best teams in this league, and what do they have to go along with a good quarterback? They can run the football. We couldn't this year. With Willy and Cotton together for a full season in 2015, plus the new pieces that will be added through the draft and free agency, there's every reason to expect this team to challenge for the playoffs next year - and they'll do that with Drew Willy. And on that note...

I've always been more of a fan of a power running back. Marshall seems to have that. I really hope he's back in camp next season.

Prices have gone up every year since at least 2000. I had seasons for nine years, and then went in with after that until I moved. I'm sure it goes beyond 2000. It's the nature of running a business, especially with the increased demand of hosting the Grey Cup.

He sure did with his 50 per cent completion percentage.... 6/12 in the game, 11/22 on the season and people are comparing him to one of the best QB's to play football for this organization. I can't even...There's a very good reason why coaches coach, scouts are scouts, and fans are fans. The quoted statement is a prime example.

Win or lose there was no reason not to be in high spirits. This team has significantly more pieces than it did last year. One win or one loss doesn't change that. It's about being realistic. We're precisely where we should be coming off of a three win year last season. No one is saying it's all sunshine and rainbows. We know there is still lots of work to be done, but ending the season with a win is a nice touch. As for quarterback, Drew Willy is still QB1 here, and he holds the position easily heading into next season as well.

We win on Labour Day and the home game against Hamilton easily if he plays. I'm sure there are a few others where we were in second and long all game that he would have prevented.

Willy will be fine. You don't "forget" per se how to play football. Marve is still very green. He does some things well, there's no disputing that. That being said, he takes a lot of risks, and those aren't always going to turn out in our favour. Happy to have both on our team. We are in a very good position under centre.

Considering (in my opinion anyway) that if Cotton plays the whole season we're likely 9-9, I'd say it's certainly attainable.

It's a process. To become an elite team, we're likely another two years away. Expectations will be for a playoff birth next year, especially with hosting the Grey Cup. We added good pieces last off-season. We'll do that again.

Not in the least. We improved by four wins this season. If the team improves on their record again, and there's no reason to believe that we won't, O'Shea won't be going anywhere.

Considering we won three games last year, seven is a significant improvement. Have to keep the expectations realistic. Well done.

There is still a large difference between what organizations do internally and say externally to the media. Words are cheap, and in this day and age organizations keep things closer to their vest. I'd be willing to bet that O'Shea, Walters, and Miller aren't at all happy with the way this season has turned out, and are already planning on how to start addressing these things going forward. There are multiple reasons not to to divulge these things in the media, some of them including tipping your hate to the 8 other teams in the league as well as leaving your options open as your plan changes and evolves as you evaluate going forward. Actions will always speak louder then words. And we really won't know what the leaders of this organization think or where they see problems until training camp next year when we see who they kept, who they released, and where they brought in talent. Whatever is said now is really just lip service, whatever is said. Given what we know about O'Shea from his time as a player does anyone here actually think that he's not the most pissed off guy out there about how the season ended? That dude was super competitive and I guarantee he is not happy with the way the season ended. Absolutely. Anyone who thinks otherwise obviously didn't pay attention to O'Shea during his playing career. This isn't sitting well with him, you can bet your bottom dollar on that. As disappointed as we all are to miss out, considering the hours and effort he puts in, he's more disappointed.

As I've said before, and it's not a difficult concept to understand - The message O'Shea presents to the media, and the internal (and true message by the way) message are two entirely different things. There's decisions/ideas that I'm sure he, and other staffers would like a do-over on, but saying that in the media serves no beneficial purpose whatsoever. If someone truly thinks O'Shea sees no problems, I frankly don't know what to say to you. This team will get better, and it has the right head coach and management to do so.

Passing yards is the most overrated stat that there is. Right, because all you need to do is go through your progressions, make the correct read, deliver a good ball, all the while having upwards of four or more people trying to take your head off every single play, and in the process hoping your receiver does his job properly by running the correct route and catching the ball while someone else is trying to take his head off as well or deflect the ball to prevent the completion....Unbelievable.

Actually what Lawless said was that Walters should sign Heenan, which we all know (the intelligent ones anyway) the chances of that happening are slim and none. If Heenan does test free agency, he'll be there about as long as Josh Bourke was before Montreal re-signed him.

Not true in the least. Last year his completion percentage was under 60 percent, and he nearly threw 20 picks (18 to be exact). Yes he did finish second in yards passing with just over 4,200 yards, but when you consider that Drew Willy is just shy of 3,800 yards, coupled with the fact that he's missed a full game, plus halves against Edmonton and B.C., and that we still have a game to play, Willy would have thrown for more yards than Reilly last year. Bottom line: Willy is exactly where he should be as a first year starter.

I've said in a number of conversations with friends that starting 5-1 was the worst thing that could have happened to this team because of the fanbase. People were saying in May they'd be happy with 6 wins which is exactly what we have but because of our start, the overwhelming majority of the fan base got unrealistic expectations about the remainder of the season.

If anyone thinks that by having Marve start this week, it means anything for next year, they're sorely mistaken. Marve could throw for 400 yards and 5 touchdowns and all it means is that the media will have some ammunition for when they conjure up their articles this offseason about a QB controversy. Willy is still QB1 going into next year, he's earned the reps, he deserves the reps and even if he's dinged up, beaten down and it ends up in a big loss for us, it's still all part of the process we need to be prepared to go through as fans. Because the end result will be a properly developed star QB. Period. You have to be Kidding ? Ryan Dinwiddie says hi. How did things work out for him and us after that Calgary game?
