  1. I thought Randy Turner had the tweet of the night when it comes to Alex Brink: randy turner @randyturner15 · 3h Hey, Alex Brink, don't think this is what Jim Popp meant when he wanted you to take the Als offence in a different direction. #Bombers
  2. Sheets was injured tonight in Green Bay. Season over. Kory #1Time Sheets ‏@Sheets24K 56s A dream deferred....out for the year
  3. Interesting opinion. I'd say that you're highly overrating Manny, Fuller & Taylor. Even Carter hasn't performed like a tier one receiver this year and IMO that's not just because they don't have a QB. I wouldn't say I'm overrating Manny at all. He probably attacks the ball as a receiver better than anybody in the league and he's still managing to stay among the league leaders in yardage despite the fact that he's being matched up against by the DB1 in most games. Fuller and Taylor are just complete receivers and while their track records aren't there, the talent level is. They fight for balls, they battle through contact and are an absolute handful to tackle in the open field. Good hands, good blocking skills. Duron Carter is an absolute animal and in my opinion, he's the most talented receiver in the league. This will probably be his last year in the CFL. Reminds me a lot of Arceneaux before Arceneaux went to the NFL. If he had Ricky Ray throwing him the ball, he'd likely average over 100 yards a game. Too bad he has the Montreal circus instead. Carter has played what 9 games and you think he is a top tier receiver. Give me a break. Plus Stamps has had ever funky injury a receiver could ever have. He misses far more than he plays. If your system is to be true. How the hell did the Riders win the Grey Cup with 4th tier receivers. Pure Bomber fan propaganda Well he did quite clearly say Dressler was a tier one, and some guy named Kory Sheets probably had a lot to do with it....
  4. I'm not doubting the result, I expect us to win, that being said I wouldn't be suggesting this will be an easy game. The other team gets paid to play as well, and as they've shown a number of times this year, the Montreal defence is pretty good.
  5. Mo Leggett will be licking his chops.
  6. Absolutely he does. You can't be doing that to the opposing bench, but at the same time, you need to have that brash confidence that he does, it's what makes him who he is. With the upcoming suspension to Josh Gordon, there is no way Manziel should be starting, you need to give a rookie QB weapons (something all the recent successful rookie QB's have had, and the not so successful ones have not had). Jordan Cameron is a great football player but you can't count on him alone to help Manziel along. I have A LOT of confidence that Manziel will pan out. He has all the physical tools to do it. Yes the attitude rubs some people the wrong way but that's life. Not everyone is going to be a choir boy.
  7. Exactly. Much more significant than a new league.
  8. Montreal's defence will do al they can to keep them in it. Marcel had a very poor game plan against them in week 3 but Willy bailed him out (and Demond Washington). Hopefully Willy doesn't need to resort to heroics again to win.
  9. Like any other football league, it will pass.
  10. I'm excited to see what Chad Anderson does. I can see him being a staple on the Bombers OL for many years to come. Lets see how he does first before making proclamations like that. He's never played the Canadian game before.
  11. This week will be interesting for sure. Week 3 of NFL preseason is always the one to watch. We'll see how he performs.
  12. Until we get lineman capable of run blocking, I wouldn't be tying up money in a running back regardless of how good he is.
  13. Mixed feelings. I'm tempted to say good based on what's happened to the game in terms of officiating, and David Braley. That being said the league is rolling in more cash than it ever has, which is never a bad thing.
  14. Released by the Alouettes today. Drafted fifth overall by Calgary in 2012 but hasn't been able to get his career going. I know he hasn't done much since coming into the league but maybe someone to bring in for a test drive considering his passport? It couldn't hurt in my opinion.
  15. Great move for the Riders. I look forward to starting at our own 40 yard line for the next two weeks after Friday.
  16. Doubt it. Jim Popp is first and foremost why this team is in the shape it's in. Wettenhall a close second. Higgins is a decent, B level coach that just has nothing to work with. I don't doubt that he'll be the scapegoat at some point, albeit undeservingly, but I'd be surprised if it's after Friday.
  17. Johnny Football's on an international stage & being paid millions so he can't afford to act like most 21 year olds because even he knows he's not like most 21 year olds. As far as being more talented than the other 2 qbs mentioned, I'd say definitly more than Tebow but not as much as Leaf. Leaf was a big, strong qb who could make all the throws. He was just a complete moron & headcase. He still is to this day. The money & fame went to Leaf's head just like it seems to be doing to Manziel. Par-tay. Ryan Leaf was capable of making all the throws until he hurt himself in his second season when he tore the labrum in his throwing shoulder. It's a hell of an injury to come back from for anybody that puts their arm through what a quarterback does, or even a baseball player for example. Not sure how familiar you are with Brandon Webb but it finished his career. Jeff Francis went through the same injury and has tried to regain his form but never did. Same with Chris Young. Yes Leaf was a headcase, but to write his failures off as 100 per cent fame and money is simply not correct. Ontop of that, to imply that the money is getting to Manziel's head is off base too. His family is VERY wealthy. Being rich is not something that's new to him. Manziel will be fine, critics be damned.
  18. Stupid decision yes, but he's got more talent in his little finger than Tebow or Leaf. I highly doubt he did it unprovoked. It doesn't excuse his actions but who here hasn't reacted poorly when someone has gotten under our skin. I know I have regrets when I was 21. That's life. He'll learn.
  19. You're right, let's trade for Eric Taylor. I love when people act like height and weight are the only determining factors in the quality of a football player, especially a linebacker.
  20. Sure hope so. Kuale has been painful to watch on more than a few occasions.
  21. He's only two inches shorter than Kuale, and weighs seven pounds less according to the Bomber website. Not that much of a difference.
  22. CFL Official Feed ‏@CFL 16m BREAKING: @REDBLACKS release veterans Paris Jackson, Tim Maypray and Seth Williams #CFL
  23. Bob Irving ‏@BobIrvingCJOB 44s Abe Kromah likely to make his bomber debut at l.b. Replacing injured ej kuale vs Montreal.
  24. Yup, IMO, signing hank was all about name recognition, people know who henry buriss is, I'm not sure Kevin Glenn sells tickets. Henry is more marketable than Glenn, he is a name, he can put his name on things, Glenn, decent qb but if you were to poll a group of casual fans, and said... Glenn or Buriss, most would say Buriss just cuz they have more than likely heard his name before. Burris wasn't brought in to sell tickets. The fact that there's football again in Ottawa, and for the first time in nine years is more than enough reason to buy tickets. The fans know full well what happens when you don't buy them.
  25. Drew Edwards ‏@scratchingpost 53m #Ticats QB Dan LeFevour has a suspected ACL tear in his left knee and will likely miss the rest of the season. #CFL It will be great watching a team hosting a home playoff game this year with 5 wins.
