[MERGED] Bombers Add Justin Blackmon to Neg List
Mr. Perfect replied to Goalie's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Both Gordon and Blackmon are phenomenal talents. A shame it's being wasted away. Hopefully those around them can help them get the help they need, but likewise I'm not holding my breath. The good news is that the NFL is full of amazing, young wide receiver talent in guys like Jeffrey, Bryant, and Jones. Watkins will be in that category soon enough as well. -

I think Cotton stays. O'Shea did say on his show that while he's happy with Grigsby he'd like to somehow get Cotton on the field. -
A couple corrections - It's "Darian" Durant, and "Roughriders", not "Rough Riders". Interesting read though.

anonymous thoughts from CFL coaches/execs

Personally I'm not surprised about Morley having a good season at centre. For those that recall Morley's best year with us was in 09 under Kelly when he was asked to play centre a number of times in place of Khan. -
Don Matthews joins Als coaching staff

Well said. -
Well considering the one throwing the ball has been studying the playbook since he was traded/signed here, he'd probably have a good idea where the route was suppose to go, nevermind that he was seen afterwards on camera and suggested post game that Romby had run the wrong route.

While Higgins is an average coach to good coach at the best of times if he has the right roster, you can't blame this on him. This is squarely on Wettenhall and Popp. Popp has had his worst offseason that I can recall, and Higgins was hired very late in the offseason compared to when coaches are hired. Considering that point he was also likely unable to assemble the coaching staff he wanted. If Higgins was hired around the time O'Shea or Jones were, would Worman have been his OC? Considering how long it's been since he held the position on a team, I'd say not likely. Ontop of that Popp had no idea Higgins was even hired (your GM should be picking the coach as we all know) until he heard in the media Wettenhall had hired him. The issues with Montreal start at the very top. -
Bryant already is at wide receiver.

A schedule with nine teams will always have its messed up portions. It was the same thing last time Ottawa had a franchise. At least we have a bit of time off after the Toronto game. I believe Owens and Durie should still be out as well assuming they aren't pulled off of IR. -

I was wondering if that may be something O'Shea would consider. -

Personally I'm confident our O will return to its status of the first two weeks when we get some bodies back. Watson, Kelly, and Greaves are big pieces of the puzzle. Good thing for us is that overall the offence has still been decent in their absence and the defence has been playing lights out so far. Lots to be happy about through five weeks.

He has already proven that he can be productive in a better system. The offensive system isn't the issue. Collaros takes a long time to go through his progressions and he has a long delivery as well. Not a big deal behind an offensive line like Toronto - Quite a big deal behind a line like Hamilton.

Told y'all.

Their OL is truly awful. Worst in the league right now. Hamilton's isn't much better. LeFevour will help mask that though.

Not concerned by this at all actually. Hamilton only has six sacks so far this season. Goossen should be able to hold himself just fine. -

LeFevour running doesn't concern me in the sense that he'll be easier to bring down than Reilly because he's not nearly as physically strong as Reilly. What does concern me is the amount of option plays Hamilton runs with him. Our ends are going to have to be extremely disciplined and the linebackers can't get caught hesitating either when Hamilton uses their option plays. -
Sorry but that's a bad argument. First because running back coach is on most staffs an entry level position into coaching regardless of the position the actual coach played in the past. Secondly Buck is not the only coach to oversee a position they didn't play. For example in Green Bay, Edgar Bennett is the team's receivers coach when he played running back in his career. I know the obvious counter to that is that running backs catch the ball too, but they don't run nearly the variety of routes a receiver does, nevermind other responsibilities of the position. Another example is Alex Van Pelt (same staff) who played his career as a quarterback and got his start in coaching as a running backs coach (which he was very successful at). He's since been promoted to quarterbacks coach but the point is, is that A) coaches on a staff often oversee a position that is different than what they played, and B ) A running backs coach is, as I said an entry level position into coaching so to suggest that Grigsby (or any back on the roster) has nothing to learn from Buck is simply not correct.

While I'm not rooting for it to happen by any means, I'd love it if we wound up in the crossover position.

Just wanted to say kudos to them for making a child's dream like this come true. Unfortunately it's often said that athletes are selfish and self centered. While it may be true for a handful of athletes here and there it's great to see the bulk of those in sports still have time for the kids and the community they serve. http://espn.go.com/espn/features/mywish/story/_/id/11233307/carolina-panthers-draft-6-year-old-my-wish

Bang on. Just poor mechanics in general.

Two awful teams going toe to toe. Lefevour get eaten alive by the better defences in this league. On a side note did anyone notice JJ getting scorched tonight. He was about 15 yards out of position. Then later he gets an interception and tells the world. "I'm back!!" You sure are JJ...you sure are. That was great. Typical Jovon. Glad garbage like that is off our team.

Love this quote from Bryant Turner. It was in Penton's article from today discussing how the defence played. I wonder how many other teams have been able to figure out Glenn pre snap? Also makes you wonder how much this hindered us when he was the QB here.... "We know that Glenn is a quarterback who is trying to get the ball out soon. Right before the snap we noticed he was basically looking at who he was going to go to. So it was pretty much timed routes, and we were just trying to get pressure in his face before he can get that ball out. It paid off."
