  1. You also have to remember, the team that scores the most points by the end of the game has a better chance of winning. - Chris Schultz
  2. Paul Friesen ‏@friesensunmedia 51s Import Cordaro Howard taking reps at left guard in place of Greaves. #bombers
  3. The criticism of Woods reminds me of the way Albert Johnson was criticized by fans back in 2006. Despite leading the league from start to finish in combined return yards I recall a number of people that would call in to Doug Berry's radio show asking why the team doesn't try someone else at returner. Both (not including when Johnson first broke into the league) are/were solid returners but appear not to have that spectacular return capability that Demond Washington has. The issue of course is that Washington, despite his ability to take the ball to the house on returns has also shown a penchant for putting the ball on the ground as well. As long as you as a returner average in or around 10 yards on punt returns and over 20 yards on kick returns and don't fumble the ball, you have nothing to worry about, hence why Woods will be staying right where he is.
  4. Woods is fourth in kick return yards and is far and away the leader on punt return yards. He also leads the league in combined return yards. He isn't seeing the bench any time soon.
  5. Walters traded the 24th pick to net Randle and the 26th pick in the 2014 draft.
  6. I don't know that it's his size that has anything to do with it. I think he's just very inconsistent. I recall more than one occasion him being lined up against Jamel Richardson and Richardson throwing fits for Suber essentially making him a non factor in games.
  7. 150K for the amount of carries he's getting is quite solid actually. Not taking him this week based on the matchups of other players and the cap but more often than not I plan on playing him.
  8. Coombs will definitely get more reps. He looked on the verge of breaking a big one almost every time he touched the ball and will likely be counted on even more with Durie out for the foreseeable future.
  9. It's professional sports folks. All teams are going to crap the bed every now and again.
  10. Cory Watson also will remain out of the lineup for at least another week.
  11. The top two running backs at this point are imports who had zero CFL experience coming into the year - Why would anyone trade for a running back? It's way too easy to find a back. Giving up an asset, any asset for Will Ford or any back on our roster for that matter will not happen.
  12. It's far from their best chance to win. Ottawa is significantly better than both BC and Hamilton right now.
  13. It's an MP4 file. Should play in Windows Media Player.
  14. Great find. Great download speed too.
  15. Toronto had to come out and establish the tone early given what happened last week. Saskatchewan should have a touchdown but Durant underthrew Swain on the corner route when he had two steps on the DB. Durant is also missing Getzlaf a lot.
  16. In a way I feel bad for Glenn. For the better part of his career turnovers have been an issue. That being said when you compare last year's interception total, and compare the difference in the offensive lines and receivers, a decline was inevitable. I think Wally really undervalued Moore, and having Arceneaux out of the lineup leaves Glenn with a bunch of guys who frankly aren't that good at catching the football.
  17. A few thoughts... - Obviously we're still very early in the season and a lot can happen in terms of injuries but at this point I can't say there's a team that really scares me right now if we were to line up against them tomorrow. Yes Calgary and Saskatchewan would likely beat us more often than not as of now, but aside from that I'll gladly take my chances against any team in the league. - I like to avoid "X coach should be fired immediately" statements because of how they are typically a jump to conclusion type of comment, but with a two possession lead in the fourth quarter and both offences practically crapping all over themselves, Gable should have been running that ball just about every play in an effort to kill the clock, especially with how poor Masoli and Lefevour were playing. Even if you're punting every time you're giving Edmonton a long field and they couldn't move the ball. Hamilton couldn't give that game away any harder if they tried. Tommy Condell should be sacked for the way he called that game, especially in the final 15 minutes. - So glad we aren't stuck with Mike Reilly. Yes he shows flashes but I have significant doubts he'll ever be an elite quarterback. Granted the line in front of him is mediocre at best, but he's way too inconsistent and his mechanics go to hell when trying to rifle a ball into a tight spot. - Speaking of offensive lines, B.C.'s is beyond a joke. Even worse than Hamilton's which is quite the accomplishment. Not making excuses for Kevin Glenn as he's obviously made some awful reads but no one will be successful behind that line as it currently stands. - After Toronto, Saskatchewan, and Calgary, the drop off in offensive line quality is quite staggering. - In comparison to last week, a much better game from Troy Smith. He's still very raw and still had too many over throws but the game was called much better for him, and he didn't have to deal with the wind he did last week. I like the attitude he shows on the field and in interview. He has room to grow. How much, is up to him. - And one more time just because it's true....out of the four current starters that moved teams last year, we by far made out the best. Not only for today, but down the road as well.
  18. Knew it before this, he had already shown it previously. The kid is a gamer and I'm beyond thrilled for us and our long term prospects that he's on the team.
  19. So give Toronto the East at this point? Drew Edwards @scratchingpost · 3h #Ticats coach Kent Austin on QB @ZCollaros7: "Right now, it doesn't look good but we'll see." #CFL
  20. Throw Aaron Kelly in there as well just for spare parts since we could do so much better than him and doesn't really fit into this offence.
  21. Penton had a blunder too. Referred to the Bombers as 2-0 in one paragraph then 1-1 in the very next one.
  22. The call that annoyed me the most was the PI on Johnny Sears. Granted, looking at the replay of the call last night it was the right call as Sears was there early but that being said official #50 who was literally 5 yards away and had the best vantage point did not make the call. The official way deep in the secondary made the call 20 yards back but given his position at Sears' and the receiver's back there is no way he could tell where the ball was at the time of contact.
  23. It would have been a loss of down had it been first or second down. However since it was third down you can't force a turnover on the penalty so it was a 10 yard penalty instead of the usual 5 for time count violation.
  24. ...Guess I'll put away the double revolvers....
