  1. Great success with Milanovich. Only makes sense that he'd want a look for himself to see what the issues are.
  2. Ottawa will make a run for Popps once his contract with the Als is up. For what reason would Popp want to go to Ottawa? He's had more than a few sniffs in the NFL the past couple of offseasons. If he does leave Montreal it will be to go down south.
  3. Hell when you're paying a 40 year old quarterback nearly $400,000 you might as well make him earn his paycheque and just go for it all the time on third down.
  4. Oh that Marcel DJD, what all good GM's should aspire to be.
  5. Patrick Neufeld, Jesse Briggs and Drew Willy for Kris Bastien, Dylan Ainsworth and Johnny Mark. Interesting. Take it any day without thinking twice.
  6. Sask got our 2nd rounder in the Neufeld trade which turned out to be Dylan Ainsworth. Still, Walters in a landslide. Not even close.
  7. So the next time anyone feels like bitching about Kyle Walters, we essentially got a starting Canadian O-Lineman and what appears to be a very good QB from Saskatchewan for absolutely nothing with Jade cut and Hall down south.
  8. Jon Cornish
  9. Your West games is not balanced. West total wins/loss should be 45-45. East is 36-36. You're not perfect Mr. Perfect. I just realized that you are incorrect. I have proof: http://cfl.ca/standings/2005/reg It can be how you said, but it doesn't have to be. Further proof that those should really think before hitting post. Well done Duressler. Thanks for coming out M.O.A.B.
  10. Lack of time to go into a lot of detail currently so I'll sum my thoughts up like so: Calgary, Toronto are in a class of their own. B.C. and Sask both take steps back. Troy Smith exceeds expectations in Montreal. Despite their Canadian talent Hamilton falls below expectations. Collaros not as good as some think. West: Calgary 13-5 B.C. 10-8 Saskatchewan 10-8 Winnipeg 7-11 Edmonton 5-13 East: Toronto 12-6 Montreal 10-8 Hamilton 9-9 Ottawa 5-13
  11. Not sure that was Friesen. It definitely sounds like Joe Pascucci listening to it again. http://bluebombers.com/video/index/id/97525
  12. he dropped a ton of passes in game 1, receivers who can't catch tend not to be worth much. I am a bit disappointed in cutting Hall now, I think that was a move that could have waited until you make damned sure you're other backups are for real but whatever I know why they did it... I just don't have to like it. Guy makes one mistake compared to the other and he's out that's a risky way of running your team. Haha, so that's how you see it, eh? I have no problem with Max Hall and up until the signing of Browning, fully expected him to be the back-up this year..... but there are several more reasons he got cut than just that pick he threw against Cgy... It wasn't about "one mistake". Max Hall, as he has been his entire career was just ineffective and he was cut because of it. End of story.
  13. If this is how brass really felt, Hall never stood a chance - Not that that's a bad thing... Jim Toth ‏@JimTothSports 33s As per @BobIrvingCJOB #Bombers QB Brian Brohm moved up the depth chart to #2 in training camp & brass feel he is a Danny Mac clone. #CFL
  14. Have to say I find some of the posts in this thread rather amusing. No surprises in the cuts I don't think. Those who performed are on the team, those who didn't are either making flight plans or will be making peanuts on the PR. The team has a long way to go but overall we're significantly ahead of where we were last season.
  15. If he's on the practice roster (and Browning will be of course) it pretty much is training camp for him. He learns the playbook at his own pace and gets minimal reps as a new QB would regardless of timing.
  16. No kidding. Kid's got wheels, and we liked that about Jyles too, didn't we? Wheels and a pretty good arm according to the highlight pack. All you need according some geniuses.
  17. Hopefully he does better than our last quarterback from Louisiana-Munroe...
  18. I really wish there was more video of that season. A home game against Hamilton we won 63-31 or something to that effect really stands out. The offence was clicking and we got a few breaks to. I remember one particular play we had fumbled the ball and a bunch of Hamilton defenders were booting it around and trying to pick up the ball and run for what must have been 25 yards or so then Jamie Stoddard comes out of nowhere to jump and fall on the ball. Great season.
  19. I don't see the comparison to Chad Plummer at all. Plummer was as useless as they come. Kelly (despite his bad drop on a short curl last week) will catch the ball more often than not, is effective running deep crossers as well as the fly patterns and creating mismatches in the endzone. He fills a nice role on this team as a fourth or fifth look for the QB.
  20. Thanks for the input folks. So I take it in terms of the atmosphere of the fans around you, it's all the same pretty much with the exception of the family zone?
  21. Hey all, I'll be taking in my first games at IGF over the coming weeks as I'll be in Winnipeg for holidays. I didn't get the chance to attend any games last year so I'm not sure how the seating has changed compared to Canad Inns. I know section S sadly doesn't exist anymore - Are there any comparable sections in the new stadium, or places my friends and I can sit and not get awkward looks if we decide to stand up and cheer? Thanks in advance.
  22. I would really hope that Chevy could do better than an opposing team's fourth line centre to fulfill our needs, even if said team did win the Stanley Cup.
  23. IE. O'Shea was not happy with Halls int at the end. I finally got around to watching the game and yikes that was a poor decision to make. Eat the sack there and they might win the game. QFT. Stating the obvious but an extra three points would have been huge.
  24. O'Shea just said on his show that Ford is at least a couple of weeks away and won't play in the opener, so yes Cotton will definitely be on the team, and likely starting week 1.
  25. Darrin Bauming ‏@DarrinBauming 44s O'Shea is optimistic LB Graig Newman could return from dislocated and fractured ankle this season. Dr. Peter MacDonald in surgery today.
