Bombers trade for QB Brian Brohm; cut Justin Goltz
Mr. Perfect replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
When do the feelings of being betrayed tweets/comments start coming from Goltz again? -
Bombers trade for QB Brian Brohm; cut Justin Goltz
Mr. Perfect replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't Taman eyeing Brohm for quite some time? -
The mastery of Marcel Desjardins continues...
Mr. Perfect replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Nah the guy was a goof before that. Some of us remember all the hype he went to Hamilton with and that team sucked then. The only good thing he did in Hamilton was sign Printers to that monstrosity of a contract which prevented Taman from getting him. That deal went down as Desjardins was being let go and Obie brought in. The Holmes, Flick, Smith, Getzlaf are enough zits on MD's watch to warrant condemnation or "hate". Wow. Forgot about Holmes and Flick. You can add Ranek to that list as well. -
The Redblacks have added the man, the myth, the legend..... Kirk Penton @PentonKirk 6m The #RedBlacks have signed former #Bombers draft pick, receiver Liam Mahoney.

Eskimos release Alexander (Now Signed with the Bombers)
Mr. Perfect replied to voodoochylde's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Agreed. I think the closest thing idea we as fans could get is what you hear from other players. Sure a lot could be bullshitting for the sake of ruffling any feathers, but when you heard from guys like Obby Khan, and Terrence Edwards just to name a couple, in my opinion it seemed sincere whenever they would talk about what Buck brought to the table. -
Wow! Such Quarterback! So Signing!

Some food for thought regarding Will Ford, and I'm not advocating anything with this point other than it's just something to ponder, but in the nine games he started from the Banjo Bowl on, he averaged just over 62 yards rushing per game. While that doesn't sound like much, if you average that out over a full 18 games, that turns out to a season total of over 1100 yards rushing which would have been good enough for third in the league last year.

A Look at the Blue Bombers Defensive Line
Mr. Perfect replied to JuranBoldenRules's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Good read. Not sure the Bombers would seriously consider Gill at #2 considering the need to patch up the O Line, but still good work none the less. -
Darren Cameron @Darren_Cameron 1m #Bombers have re-signed East Division All-Star running back Will Ford. @_GODSWILL2886_

You can VERY easily get Bruce's production from a rookie from down south for a fraction of the price. Laurent would be great when he exhausts his NFL options, McCune wouldn't be bad either but more of a band aid solution at the end of the day.

Same thing every time with you. Why aren't you ripping BC? They struck out on every player they wanted. Rip Saskatchewan for losing Sanders, Butler and Schmitt. Every time someone signs in this league, another team or more loess out. Get used to it. No team gets everybody they want. Rip Wally? Winningest coach in CFL history & uber successful GM? Walters & O'Shea only hope to win half as many games as Buono has the past 25 years. Sask built their team to win a GC at home & now they're up against the cap. Their 1 year gamble paid off. Somehow I knew you'd come after me even though everyone else kept the discussion civil. Why don't you just hit ignore if you find peoples comments not to your liking all the time? I won't miss you. You won't miss me. So,please, go ahead.. You're always getting PO'd about something. Sorry but B.C. and Saskatchewan have had FAR worse off seasons than we have had. Just about all the players of value they could lose, they did in fact lose while both teams have added very little. Does Wally have a great track record? Of course, that goes without saying, but there is no way anyone could reasonably argue that they are better today than they were at the end of last season, just as there is no one that could reasonably argue that we are worse today than we were at the end of last season. If you argue or imply things that are simply not true (Such as losing out on Burris as some big catastrophe when an expansion team made a 39 year old QB one of, if not the highest paid player in the league) you are going to get called out on it. That's just how it works. Nothing in Mike's comment that you quoted implies he was uncivil. He did not insult you in any way, shape or form. There is nothing wrong with him being critical of your statement, I would have done (and am doing) the same thing. The fact is, is that BC and Sask have lost more, and gained less than we have, yet you are being critical of us losing out on Henry Burris of all people? Sorry, Burris was no grand prize, far from it. We have been aggressive NOT ONLY in free agency, but on the trade front to acquire pieces that were of need as well. You're complaining about us being second choice or whatever, but the fact is, is that this team has made more significant moves this off season than in the last three combined. You're not going to get EVERYTHING you want in one off season, that's life, welcome to football. This was never going to be a one year fix. I get that you're tired of being "years away" but guess what? When you're a three win football team, you are in fact years away. That's life and the situation in front of us. Is this team better? Absolutely, no doubt in my mind. Are they contenders yet? Far from it. Since this current regime has taken over, they have EASILY made more good choices than bad, and mortgaging the future on players that don't justify a certain contract falls into that category. It's not called being cheap. It's called smart business, and that is a fact, whether fans like it or not.

Wasn't that a few weeks ago already? No. He made his comments on Michael Sam a few weeks ago. He was rumoured to be on his way out anyway, but hadn't been officially cut at the time.

Understandably so. The guy is a turd, pure and simple.

Careful, you'll get blocked Seriously. Is this real life right now? How bad can a reporter be? Paul Wiecek @PaulWiecek 12m RB Travon Jones (5-8, 171), who played for Sacramento State in 2012, has tweeted the Bombers have invited him to training camp. #bn MorningBigBlue @MorningBigBlue 8m @PaulWiecek he hasn't played for Sac State since 2007, Paul Paul Wiecek @PaulWiecek 3m Check that earlier tweet -- RB Travon Jones played for Sacramento State in 2007, more recently with McPherson College in 2012. #bn MorningBigBlue @MorningBigBlue 1m @PaulWiecek He left McPherson in 2011, Paul Hilarious. Tell him to get back to covering the downs.

The last running back we had from Sacramento State was pretty decent was he not?

Bombers name Gene Dahlquist as new QB coach
Mr. Perfect replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Just curious ... who did you have in mind? I wonder if a guy, who would be the players great grandfathers age, will be able to connect with our young QB's. As Mike said, considering he was worked with guys like like Marcus Mariota, Zach Mettenberger, Tajh Boyd, and Terrell Pryor, I don't think we need to worry about that. The fact that he's worked with Mariota alone has me curious what he teaches our stable of QB's. Again, those comparing him to Crowton, Kelly, etc couldn't be more off the mark since Dahlquist is not designing or running the offence. That's not what a QB coach does. -
Farhan Lalji @FarhanLaljiTSN 2m Popp was prepared to do both jobs this year. #Als have been the #CFLs model franchise under Popp. Now it looks like a franchise from the 90s
-
Had we known.... that is a very, very good GM that just might be available. With his NFL interest, Popp coming here as GM is just about as far fetched as the chances were of Dickenson coming here as head coach.
-
Oh boy... Farhan Lalji @FarhanLaljiTSN 3m This will not end well RT @DidierRDS Higgins's hiring is a slap in the face of Jim Popp who from what I'm told wasn't consulted #Als #CFL
-
No chance in hell that's ready in time.

Some food for thought from Farhan Lalji
Mr. Perfect replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Mike Kelly was a dreadful head coach and worse as a GM, so his judgement is highly questionable. I don't want to give him more air time, but he came into the job(s) with enormous goodwill in the bank and proceeded to burn it off at a rate unprecedented in recent Bomber history. The fans and players turned on him when it became painfully obvious just how bad he was. I'm not tooting Kelly's horn at all with my comment. He was flawed in a lot of things but he was right in others as well. Fans wanting to jump off the ledge in February is a prime example (one of many for that matter) of his comment being right on the money. -
I think it's a good hire. He's everything Montreal needs for the direction that franchise is going in now. Popp needed a safe hire after the Hawkins debacle, and this is it.

Etcheverry announced as Defensive Coordinator (finally)
Mr. Perfect replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Agreed. Running back is the last thing we need to worry about. As has been said, it's the easier position to find a capable starter.
