  1. Ferri is one of those guys you HATE playing against but would love to have on your team. He'd be a welcome addition.
  2. Willy has more talent in his little finger than LeFors ever had.
  3. I'll take that as a subtle middle finger to Desjardins regarding any Glenn trade.
  4. Based on what? He has a larger sample size than Reilly had coming into his new team, and Reilly was known by many around the league last year as the king of garbage time as he was wildly inconsistent and put up a lot of his numbers late in games when teams typically switch to a cover 4.
  5. Agreed on all counts. Well said.
  6. Great thread. I was wondering about this on the drive home from work yesterday. I think it was to do with the fact that Reilly was the top prize in the eyes on many last year, as was Collaros. Willy just flew under the radar despite his stats and his work on the field.
  7. And this is a very good thing. The other day I made the analogy of Walters being in a poker game. Now you see why. He handled things beautifully. Hey, does Paul Wiecek owe Walters some sort of apology for dissing his handling of all things Bomber thus far? No, I think Wiecek is still smarting from me simply telling him to "relax" in a tweet for which he blocked me afterwards.

  9. Yes, lets go ahead and trade a guy who, in a perfect world will be our starter for the next seven or eight years, maybe longer if all goes to plan versus a guy who will be hanging them up in four or five years. Exactly what would we stand to gain in that? Holy ****, some people.
  10. Danny McManus disagrees with you. He might know a little something, something about quarterbacks.
  11. I'll keep this short and sweet: ******* rights!!
  12. Has he ever been successful anywhere he's coached?
  13. Agreed unfortunately. I'd love to have Drew Tate here, but Drew Willy is a nice consolation prize.
  14. Injury history aside (though obviously it is part of the equation when considering trades) Tate is much more of a ruthless and cerebral QB than Glenn. He'll have his foot on a team's throat and keep pressing down harder. His attitude rubs some people the wrong way. Personally, I love it when a QB is animated. You see it presently with Tom Brady, and you use to see it in the past with Dunigan all the time during his playing days.
  15. This. Factor in that he'll be in an actual CFL offence right out of training camp is sure to help as well as both him and Marcel were really in no win situations last year.
  16. Well hey, head down to IGF and tell Miller you're looking for a job. Be sure to tell him you clearly know better than him and Walters on how to properly run this team.
  17. Miller's full of **** Haha I think it's called being generous but point taken on that comment.
  18. A couple of notes from a Sun article from Thursday. Miller's quote is refreshing and what knowledgeable fans have been saying since Tuesday: http://www.winnipegsun.com/2014/02/05/miller-moving-forward-after-missing-on-burris "You're not going to give that kind of compensation to somebody that's got a year or two left," Miller said Wednesday at the CFL Congress in the nation's capital. "I know our fans are educated and intelligent and will be able to see that and know that." There were rumblings Wednesday that the Bombers are talking trade with the Roughriders to get quarterback Drew Willy's rights before he hits the free agent market on Tuesday Also an interesting quote from Walters at the end of the Muamba article: http://www.winnipegsun.com/2014/02/05/losing-muamba-just-salt-in-the-wound-for-blue-bombers "In free agency we're going to explore the possibility of potentially getting three quality starting Canadian receivers in here, too," he said. Let the speculation begin. I'm thinking Kohlert, and Arthur but I'm not sure who he'd be eyeing as a third Canadian receiver. Regardless, it doesn't seem Walters will be sitting with his thumb up his ass like Mack did during free agency.
  19. There is nothing wrong whatsoever with a Glenn and Willy duo. Both are every bit as good if not better than the two QB's who have signed elsewhere.
  20. pure speculation I think (and in the words of the great Dave Ritchie "When I say I think, know that I know so") Mike just might have a better track record than both you and Kels. He knows what he is talking about. On the other hand, as has been evidenced time and again over the past number of days, you and Kels just simply don't.
  21. Love how Wiecek is trying to pin this as a failure by the Bombers. I'd call him clueless but it may be a complement. The goal of every football player is to try their hand in the NFL.
  22. What's your point? We weren't going there this year with him. Also keep in mind he was pulled a number of times last year, including the playoffs where his back up played a big part in the win over Montreal. Burris did nothing in the cold during the Grey Cup that was well in hand by half time.
  23. It's more likely to be the worst contract since Casey Printers signed with the Ticats. Except Burris has thrown for 5000 yards wherever he has played and scored plenty of touchdowns. And also throws plenty of picks, got benched more than anyone should with the money he makes, and more often than not doesn't get the job done when it gets cold outside.
  24. Why would Walters cut him! What an idiot! He should have matched the NFL offer!.... Congrats to Henoc. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
  25. Kirk Penton ‏@PentonKirk 7m The #Bombers have released Henoc Muamba so he can pursue NFL opportunities.
