If you want to review Walkers skills re-watch the Bombers first game against the RB's last season. No doubt that he had the physical talent at that time but as we have seen until recently with Stoudermire sometimes these guys forget how to use it. No Walker has been the same since day one with Hamilton. He's fast. If he has a big hole to run through he's got the speed to exploit it but when the going gets tough he folds faster than superman on laundry day. Speed gets guys 9 lives in sports but if you can't do anything with that speed but run through gaping holes you're not a football player, just a track star. I was not impressed with Walker and wondered why Winnipeg bothered bringing him in. Interesting comment about his speed though. There is something very wrong with Bombers run game and it doesn't matter who the RB is. First, they telegraph every run. So its easy for the D to pick up. Secondly, every run play takes too long to develop. You can count steamboats while the QB is holding the ball out there waiting for the back to take the ball and then silly-walk into Picard's backside or one of the Bombers guards or the waiting arms of an opposing defender. It's been like that for the past couple of seasons. Its almost like there's no communication between the O line and backfield. And of course no play action to give pause to the D and no misdirection. Major fail. Does MOS not see this? I honestly don't think he does see it and wouldn't know how to fix it if he did. MOS was a LB not a QB, unlike head coaches like Hufnagel and Austin. I'm sure he sees the game differently from many of us and I don't think it's a coincidence that our D is light years ahead of our O. Yea cuz if your a defender.. All you retain and have the ability to follow is defense.. *insert eyeroll emotji* Lets be serious here. Hes been involved in football for how long? He isnt an idiot. He sees now his defenses played against offenses and Im sure he realizes what offenses could and would beat defenses..
-
Exactly. People always love the guys that do well against but fail to look at his whole body of work.
-
Tried him already lol
-
Passport. And last season.

I believe one of the biggest glaring issues with our offense is inital timing.. Those wobbling, floating snaps at the qbs face or higher pull qbs eyes away from defense, make the RBs a step behind the blocking and cause the QB to lose 1 of his steamboats. I assume goose isnt ready to bark the assignments or confident enough to block one on one when it comes to it as there is no way his snaps could be any worse..
-
Without question, but I'm not certain they blame MB for the current failures, or if they want to blame injuries, etc... It really would be great to get walters and oshea out for beers without any prying eyes and get to hear exactly what they think and feel without any risk of penalty or harm.

Week 16 CFL - Mon. - Tor.@ Mont. (Sask. 15 - Hamilton 30)

Burris is definitely peaking at the right time.. If he stays healthy and doesnt drift back to hank too often, he and the redblacks could do damage in the playoffs. -
He also came cheap, was a known commodity and has had some success (albiet small amount) in the league. He wasnt brought in to be a saviour, he was a stop gap. Reason? All of our "wanted" guys were probably still in NFL camps. Guys that were available were grigsbys and walkers and probably the same level of skill. also, other available guys could easily be on neg lists too.
-
Name a veteran coach who isn't 70 who would come here. No to Higgins. There isn't oneGary Crowton is available. Casey Creehan. As head coaches?! They were borderline competent as coordinators.
-
Two of the closest games we have played all season and you think hes looking defeated? Man. You ought to go work as a body behaviourist for the FBI.
-
I've commented on this before. The tempo of the running play does not match the blocking, IMO. By the time the RB gets the ball, and hits the hole, it's been back-filled. Too slow. Im confident the slow as molasses snaps have a big effect on those timing problems..

Yeah, that'll absolutely help his confidence....good call. We're in the business of winning football games and he's now cost us at least two. **** his confidence. Couldn't agree more. Why are we suddenly treating players like fragile babies? They're professional athletes who are paid to make plays. Lirim's performance was unacceptable. I wouldn't cut him but he needs to take a seat on the bench. If he can't respond from being cut, how will he ever be able to respond with big kicks? They should be bringing in guys who can do the job. Why must we be so invested in a kicker simply because he's Canadian? He's either good enough .. consistent enough .. to do the job or he isn't. Give me one person who can do all three jobs .. I don't care if they are Canadian, American or Martian. Just put the ball through the ******* uprights with some regularity. He did. Last season. More then any other kicker in bomber history percentage wise. He can do the job. Its up to oshea and walters to find out what went wrong. Oh, and we are vested in him because he has shown hes skilled AND Canadian kickers are valuable. Also, we dont want another peredes situation.. Except this one would be worse as we developed him..
-
we due.. We so due, right? Lol,
-
Lol at suggestions to get rid of him. He set a team record for kicking percentage in his rookie season.. And now like many others, is hitting a softmore slump.. We cut him, we have another peredes situation on our hands except this time we have developed him..
-
Kid didnt just forget how to play.. Hes getting hungup on himself. Mental fortitiude is the hardest piece of the puzzle to put in place. Do wonder if maybe a sports psychiatrist might not be a bad idea. Competition also seemed to help him focus before.

At the time that info was reported it was thought he was signing with the Eskimos. And if you read the tweet I posted from the Als official feed, they say 2 years. One of those "2 years" might include remainder of this year.It means this season and next - just like you posted before. Not what they said on TSN today. This year plus 2 TSN was wrong. @JacquieWinnipeg: @HerbZurkowsky1 Confused about Muamba contract. Als tweeted it was 2 years which means this season and next season, doesn't it? @HerbZurkowsky1: @JacquieWinnipeg yes Cool thanks for that. Makes me feel better knowing we passed on him or he passed on us or whatevs.

Well, Mtls defense was butchered both by burris and injuries.. muamba may help the middle stuff but their secondary is porous now for sure.. i remember being on the crappy side of games like this against ricky ray... So gut wrenching. -

Week 15 - Sask @ BC - (Calgary 23 Hamilton 20)

Ottawa built a pretty solid Oline from the rest of the leagues depth. Not too shocking really.. Also landing a very good tackle in FA helped matters.. But they have become a very good football squad. -
That's kind of an odd way of doing it... when I heard the three names I just assumed it was Burris (offensive), Westerman (defensive), and Rainey (ST)... Nice to see Westerman is finally getting some recognition around the league... I'm pretty sure that it's planned that way to chose one from each facet of the game. So Westerman would be the defensive player of the month. Thought that too.. Apparently not.
-
Yea pretty sure those numbers are meaningless and its offense, ST, defense. canadian is missing unless Westermann is double winner lol.. Did they do away with the old format of players of the month? (edit) They did do away with old format and those numbers are lamely relevant. burris gets 200 points. rainey getting 100 and westerman 50.. No bearing on position or part of squad. Last week two offensive players got second and third. Not a fan of this imo.
