Both Sask and the Lions could use Tate, though I don't see Calgary giving up their insurance. Why would they? Then they would be like us sans nichols or like BC is now. Im actually really happy that we got nichols when and for what we did.. He coulda fetched a bit more with the QB concerns still creeping up in BC and potentially Mtl.

Noticed this on saturday too. I caught Adams dogging it a couple times on passing plays yet. Saw this in the Calgary game, as well..... Could be that they are... Or were... Tired of being tossed suicide balls and not being involved in the play if they ran farther then 10 yards? Blocking, denmark and watson used to be our best.. JFG does admirably as does Kohlert but too small to be of much use.. Moores meh and adams is like a younger Romby.. Talented but not much for effort if not into then play.. We also have to remember,, if they are fast, good route runners, focused and excellent blockers... They aint in the CFL. Everyone is going to have some warts essentially..

You'd think so, wouldn't you? The waggle really tends to make some receivers have a problem with coming here. Coupled with our inability to bring quality guys down here.. But cant blame too many players for taking a pass if weve showed them our QB play and OC's highlight picture. Cant be a reel, not enough to make one lol.. I am kinda shocked Danny Mac cant find a few gems tho. Figured as a QB he would have an eye for talented enough guys to catch passes here..

It is frustrating but he's still our best receiver by a mile and I'm not sure Walters has the ability to replace him with anyone other than another similarly high priced CFL free agent. Clarance denmarks says maybe by like, half a kilometre if that.

Faith may be blind but it also takes balls to support your team in dark times.. Also, faith isnt so blind that we cant see positive results. Much better QB. Defense is becoming a force.. Progression, not regression is what fuels my faith.

Hoping for Marsh but not too scared of crompton should he be healthy by then.. Truth be told, how well our defense has played and with cato coming back to earth a bit... Id even think we have a heck of a shot against him as well..

Way to gloss over everything. nichols threw deep balls better then marve or brohm. He executed the offense properly. Made better fakes and moved the ball with his feet when needed. Did he play mistake-free? No. Did it look like his first game as a bomber after 4 practices? Yes. I dont think many are clamouring for him to be #1 but many see his value and that he is leagues better then previous QBs.. Give the man his due. If he doesnt make the first downs and move the chains, maybe our defense tires out again.. You're the one whose glossing over his mistakes. Better than Marve/Brohm? Sure. I said as much in my post. 'The Man'? After 1 game? Where he played inconsistently at best? Nah. We've seen lots of QB's have a good half before. Most don't end up being 'The Man'. So just conviently ignore what hes done in edmonton this season as well.. Its not like he was brohming it up over there..

He wasnt making plays at safety because he was rarely if ever tested one on one and it always seems like whomever he was doubling was always blanketed.. Imo at least.

I never said the STs were good. k nobody is calling it a masterpiece.. or that it should save his job even... what we are saying is that with a legit QB it is functional and capable of producing points and yards.. couple with a stingy defense and error free ST.. 2 outta 3 aint bad. That's taking it too far, Lirim and Stoudermire are becoming the "usual suspects" in regard to ST errors. Stoudermire looked better on his returns tonight but he fumbled the ball on hits at least twice. ... Hence 2 outta 3.. Our offense was good today and defense was stingy.. STs, while improved continued to be an issue even if its only down to two specific targets.. I never said the STs were good. Sorry, misinterpreted your intent. All good, thanks for clearing it up

nichols salary could be made up of marve and brohms salaries lol. henoc is a rare specimen. Canadian who plays like an american allstar MLB. You find one of those every.. What, 7-10 years? nichols come and go. We can keep trying to find our own or steal someone elses. You cant really scout a Muamba or steal one.. So.. henoc and it should be a landslide lol.

plus denmark was pushed out.. smiths nonfumble (twice considering the quick whistle in 4th) and the missed headshot by chick on nichols in second... it was embarrassing to watch the refs on field and at command centre botch so many calls..

brohm plays scared and Marve cant hit the deep ball accurately.. and cant read defenses as well.. nichols knows the teams defenses and play makers.. and they know him.. and can still move the ball.

he struggled but still looked better then greaves or paddy had in there.. he should be ok once he gets a rhythm.. nichols looked like he was in another league compared to brohm or marve..
