He used our 4 draft picks to take Mike Morris, Adam Bestard, Peter Quinney, and Thaine Carter. If those names aren't familiar, there's a pretty good reason. They were terrible picks. Some of that is shared with Taman, as he traded some of those 2009 picks. Kelly let Gauthier, Koch, Picard and Goodspeed walk in free agency. I know Goodspeed isn't a NI, but if I don't mention him, Kelly's "I think we can re-sign all four!" doesn't quite make sense. Some of that is shared with Taman, as he could have extended these guys earlier. Kelly claimed he was going to do a better job of hanging on to our draft picks than Taman ever did. As I recall, we were still missing a pick in the 2013 draft from one of Kelly's many traded picks. None of that is shared with Taman. You'd have to do a pretty comprehensive essay to convince me Kelly added anything to this team other than bloated bombast, including the area of NI talent. He mean Kelly added to the mess that Taman created. Anf btw, I know you still feel the anger on Kelly's stupidities... but chill man! watch your blood pressure. Yea i agree.. Foley is an idiot and a d-bag but I think you are undervaluing him. He had 54 tackles and 12 sacks last season. Willis had 32 tackles and 13 sacks, Chick had 45 tackles and 13 sacks. *shrug* we will see how he does on a less talented Dline in Toronto.. I think he's more so a solid tackler who is on a pretty good Dline..

Pavs has been an international and NHL level goaltender for how many seasons now? Old dogs cannot be taught new technique at this stage of their careers.. They risk losing what edge they have plus injuring muscles that they have never hardcore conditioned.. Maybe a goalie coach could tweak some small stuff but in general, they wouldn't be changing enough of his game to make a difference.. He is as good (or bad) as he is because of his style. you think anyone tried to teach hasek to not flop around?

What makes you think we even get a chance to match a better offer? Say Sask throws down 250 and we offer 260, Taman says "275 if you sign right now." Maybe we are willing to best 275 and maybe we never get a chance to do so. It's not just an open auction floor where the highest bid wins. We can do everything right and still not win. Unfortunately.
