It's a long season folks.. We also don't have a deep roster so when too performers slouch, there's not many around to pick up the slack.. This team will have to fight and claw it's way into the playoffs IF we make them this season..

How is buck supposed to teach a guy to not trip on defenders finger tips or pick the right gap at full speed? Trick question, he can't. Both of those key failures are on the RB.. He either has the power to run thru pinky fingers or he has the vision to see the holes made by oline.. Not sure if serious ... what do you think a running back coach does if he doesn't go over game film with them and point out snaps where the runner missed going through the right gap, etc? There are literally dozens of things Buck could do with a guy to teach him to not get tripped up by a defender. Evaluate his running style ... everything from his hip stance to his pad level or body lean to make sure he's driving at defenders with force to break through a tackle as opposed to just running at them. Get him to work on keeping his eyes up to spot those arm tackle defenders. A lot of what they'll teach running backs at lower levels in the fundamental stages is the basic principle of see it - prepare for it. Locate the first potential tackler, prepare for him. That's where Grigsby sucked. The fundamental stuff. Pierce could have worked with him to improve that in so many ways - and I'm not suggesting he didn't - I'm just suggesting that you're incorrect when you say you can't teach that stuff. A lot of it is instinct, but a lot of it isn't. To Pierce's credit ... I thought he did a lot to improve Grigsby's game. Pass pro and commitment to a north-south style with no hesitation especially. Grigsby's issue was he just wasn't born to be a running back. And this is what I was getting at mike.. Stuff that grigsby sucked at was taught at like peewee level.. He SHOULD have known how to keep his pads level, keep his centre of gravity low and keep churning the legs.. He should have also picked up field vision and seeing the gaps form and develop long before he landed here.. Bucks job isn't to redevelop fundamental skills or if it was, grigsby wasn't exactly a star pupil.. Obviously, his job would have been to improve the RBs game play and I thought he did so with both grigsby and cotton.. I also believe his role was more to prepare the RBs to work in the offence while trying to fix their issues. I thought he did that well too as grigsbys blocking did get better as well..

Ugh. No Marshall.. Ever again plz. -
I've heard the same. My buddy who grew up with Rod Black told me Rod would go to socials and always leave with another guy's girlfriend. Guys hated him, but the women couldn't resist him. With his advanced knowledge of figure skating and saying "wicked.." why wouldnt they?! Honestly, i could be wrong but I thought rod black was in the park Pontiac commercials..

SPuDS replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
goosen aint going anywhere anytime soon.. Greaves either.. Dont like the o-line? Turner, Vega or Anderson perhaps? Wild would be a good option too.. Randle, Sears Jr., Leggett would round out my last few choice.. -
Ya didnt wanna put Willy, Randle and Leggett on there?

Yeah, in a lot of ways it would have been better if that sucker punch to Rich would have killed him as his quality of life isn't very good now. Hate saying that... You should hate saying that... Rich was sucker punched from behind in a bar. The guy who did it ran out of the bar but was apprehended. Rich fell & his head hit the floor hard & he suffered a severely fractured skull. Along with a fractured skull he suffered severe brain damage. He is in a special care facility now. He can't feed himself. He needs assistance going to the bathroom. He has limited communication skills. Rich was a prolific CFL poster, a huge Lions fan since 1954 & was a stockbroker in Vancouver. I feel so bad for the guy now & what he & his family are going thru. The life he knew is over. The prognosis is that he'll never recover or get any better. Yeah, it sounds cruel but what he's going thru now, is just so tragic. I didn't say I wanted him to die. I just said that in a lot of ways it would be better. Iso, I believe most old schoolers here are aware of the entire situation. I also believe most of us dont believe in considering such an option when it pertains to life. It does suck that he is now incredibly diminished in functionality and what not but to suggest death would have been a better option... At the very least, a topic for general discussion lol.

Isn't that a little young to be drafted? Wah Wah Wah waaaaaaah.... Bah-dum *Ching!*

Question.. Onside "gunner" decides to not go for ball but balls to the wall to hit the return man.. As he is onside there is no 5 yard budget zone... Technically speaking couldn't this play be one designed to just tee the bleep off on the return man?

Lies. They stopped teams plenty only to have the offense send them right back on the field. No use in trying to help you see the truth. You've already made your mind up and nothing's going to change it. Pot meet kettle. When's the last time you've changed your position based on someone else's "truth". sad part is tburg is right. No... Not realllllllllllly... Anyone can bring up stats to prove their point by tweaking and omitting or including x or Y.. This is why stats are for losers.. -
Im in agreement of build the lines first and foremost.. Unless there is an absolute stud at a "non-traditional" roles... I simply dont know enough about demski but i do think we can grab him and a very good prospect at 11 and later..
