  1. that I agree with. it will be funny when they do fall flat, bring in Johnny Football and he implodes.. *fires up popcorn maker*
  2. this whole dance with Manziel and his agent has been unprofessional. Both believe they are operating from a position of strength and that couldn't be further from the truth. They need the CFL more so then the cats need manziel.
  3. Me too to be honest, I thought he was a lock at WIL for next year.. unless.. this could be a possibility for sure... Or as mentioned, possibly setting up for a 3-4 scheme or reduced role as a backup/STer..
  4. Oh, so its ok to heap blame on him but completely ignore all the positives that are on the defense? Kind of a myopic way to view things, no? There is no denying we caused opposition to turn the ball over better then anyone else in the last 2 years.. we also increased our sack and pressure totals.. Its not like Hall was a complete failure.. Maybe the reason he is still here and it doesn't make sense to us is because at the end of the day, we are only fans and have no clue what transpires behind closed doors or the causes of the failures on our defense.
  5. dont you have have huge concerns every off-season though? lol. and I don't get this, just because other teams do things one way... we are clearly doing things wrong and heading for a nose dive into the depths of hell? you do realize we just came off of back to back double digit wins and are clearly trending upwards?
  6. thats gold lol.
  7. Hate to say it but I agree, they must not have liked his time in limited action or in practice.. Something isn't adding up.
  8. anyone watch the presser? I couldn't from work..
  9. by success I mean he has won in the CFL before. it wasn't constant nor was he reliable but he has had success as a QB in the league before. its not like hes a Max Hall or Mike Quinn.
  10. ooooh. never thought of that angle. From all i've seen, hes considered a very good coaching prospect. O'shea and him do have a solid history as well. Maybe this idea carries some weight and to be honest, I'd be ok if that was the case.
  11. I agree on Lefevour, his arm is garbage BUT you can tailor a package together that limits his throws to completely open targets only, short passes only and lots of motion, misdirection and heavy running. I think thats how he thrived (at times.. he had zero consistency) in Hamilton and montreal. Davis's arm is not a question. its his ability to use it. guys got a bazooka. He just panics and loses all accuracy when rushed. the game has to slow down for him or else he will never find success.. game only slows down for players after they get into a groove with their team mates and the offense. in the offense designed as is? for sure. We could have given him a vanilla run heavy concept to use though.. I agree. its not like hes been a piss-poor QB in all of his stops. He has had success at times and played very well.. hes also stank out the joint at times. If put into a position to be successful, he has been. if put into an offense catered to other QBs, hes struggled. Hes too niche of a QB to be slotted into a regular offense unfortunately.
  12. yea I hear that.. needing to be a big time 2 way player is crucial in todays NHL overtime. being able to flip the switch from offensive to defensive quickly should be just as important to whom is slotted to play the extra minutes as is their offensive skills.
  13. I can't believe how much of that he tore out.. just savage
  14. anyone else notice Canada's PK seems to look alot like the Jets? push it to the top of the circle, let them shoot on the goalie from a ways out without any traffic? maybe it was a coincidence but sure looked like it to me this tournament so far that they were running a similar PK.
  15. ya and I don't know if Hutch is worth us dumping for a 4th. I like knowing we have an essential NHL ready goalie waiting in the wings if something bad happened to our netminders. *knocks on wood*
  16. this is what baffled me too.. I'm assuming its more so hes a square peg, round hole scenario here.. Would it be worthwhile to tool a portion of the offense to cater to his skillset? debatable but I think thats what made him look as bad as he did.
  17. Santos-Knox and Leggett say "whaaaaaaat? "
  18. if it was really that simple, don't you think every team would do it? A QB has the better hands, the better knowledge of where the gaps should be, SHOULD be able to find said gaps quicker then a FB/RB AND has the option to pull it down and make a throw. a QB is a requirement to be a short yardage guy unless you devote waaaaay too much time to convert a RB /FB into said short yardage guy. then you are also employing "dead weight" for kind of no reason as well..
  19. uh... wut? has dementia set in and he wants to flip to the other side of the x's and o's?? never get tired of this lol at what.. OC? I guess his defensive mindset would be interesting to use against other defenses but I kinda think you'd want someone with a bit more, oh, I dunno, offensive skill sets to handle that side of the ball..
  20. guess when he saw the "freelancing" mingling with the contract, he realized social media can suck at times? lol. at least he aint saying fu winnipeg yet.
  21. I would take Durrant over Glenn simply because Durrant is bigger and personally I believe he offers more at this point in their careers.. plus I realllllllllllllly dislike Glenn as a QB.. and I don't know why. is it his size? it is his horrid way of throwing back breaking pics? is it that he let some shmuck break his arm and cost us a GC? I think its all of the above.
  22. I recall thinking the same thing. always wondered why Santos didn't get more of a shot.
  23. kinda had to when his name was being bounced around as an HC option, no?
  24. it wouldn't be the fact that he might get hurt, to me anyway, it would be the fact that he knows hes brittle and puny and would hold back when you gotta go balls to the wall to get those yards.
  25. huh. that I did not know and I could see how that would piss off people, especially when you are one of the "vets" in the secondary and should be looking to cover for the rookies... not hoping they will cover for you.
