Regarding our offensive improvement, we just played the worst defense in the league (other than possibly ours) back to back. People were saying the same thing about our offense after last season. We need a real search for a GM (I thought this was the plan as laid out by Miller), who needs the freedom to hire who he wants. Trying to hold onto coaching pieces that you think might be responsible for "improvement" (now were still in the game until the fourth quarter before losing) is in part what led to this year's debacle. did you just say the eastern division leading argos have the worst defense in the league next to us? stats are for losers, that defense was good enough to win a GC last season and depending on how calgary finishes out, could do it again..

Wormans offense didnt seem too stellar to me during his last kick o' the can.. Agreed. 14-4 was a terrible time for us. I'm sure being the first crossover team to win a playoff game (largely on an offensive gameplan that destroyed the Bombers zone with passes to backs) was a terrible time for Eskimo fans too. yea nevermind my bad, for some reason i thought worman was brutal for us at one point but he was OC for only one season.. even in EDM he had a solid offensive output year.. so even though both rosters were much better then ours, if he came in as OC i could see success..

blech. too much control for MB and Wormans offense didnt seem too stellar to me during his last kick o' the can..

Its not a choice or a popularity contest, its a singular opportunity to get one of the best NI's in the league …. the point is to wake up uh. k, did you read the thread? mike mentioned he would chose harris over cornish and we were debating that. obviously i hope we make a move to sign harris... only a moron wouldnt see him as being an impact player on our squad..

i know your going to spout off about "bend but dont break" defenses and opposition not playing their best defenses but our offense, broken and pathetic as it is on oline and at qb were some of the best in the league in the last 3 games.. that, to me, tells me we could do much worse then bellfuille at the moment.. id not have a problem if we let it ride at the offensive coordinator position for at least the first third of next season..

Hindsight is 20/20. It was the correct decision at the time. i beg to differ but hey, thats the joy of these forums.. -
thats what i was wanting to know.. dont get me wrong, harris is awesome and would love to have him but if it was a choice of harris or cornish, its a no brainer.. id have thought anyway..

Arash Madani: Miller Trying to Force Rick Worman On Walters

Well glad you're finding it funny. It's not like this franchise has been an absolute gong show since 2009 or anything. i find it hilarious actually. you mad bro?this team has gone thru some struggles, no doubt. they keep trying to resolve it which is fine by me. its not like lapo or kelly or daley are still here.. ditto dinwiddie, lefors, randle or michna.. change is good, when the club sees failure they act on it.. I really dont know what else you want to see happen. I get you think there is some grand conspiracy at play with ex bombers players and coaches getting special consideration but its not like the coaches and gms are not without solid backrounds.. walters, if kept as gm, would be the first one without a glowing resume.. but then again, thats a new change isnt it? Dude, you just made my point without even realizing it. Daley, Kelly, Mack, Lapo, Burke, the QB carousel -- they constantly make knee-jerk reactions and changes because there is never a viable plan in place.... ...because there is never a qualified football man or men making decisions. So you can laugh and go "oh well, I trust the board to make the right decisions" or you can look the last 5 years objectively .... you act like we are the only franchise to go thru lean years.. its simply not the end of the world man. we have been gone thru crappy times in the past and sorted it out.. sorry i have more patience then you.. the search for the guy or guys who bring us.back to the promised land will continue and pan out eventually.. you act like people are sitting on their asses not attempting anything to resolve it when its simply not the case.. -
fer serious? rationale would be...? (and im not a big fan of sheets..)

Miles definitely earnes a spot at camp next year and a decent contract offer (same or a bit better as he did score a td and hit 100 in limited time)

meh. we let him get away, plain and simple.. teams need to develop kickers and we chose to let him walk.. bad decision. -

the jumping to conclusions in this thread and outrage that ensued is freaking hilarious.. this boards collective insanity has been on the rise as of late.. -
i reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally didnt like the idea of barker but seeing what he has done in toronto... ill gladly take him now.. he changed my opinion of his ability as a gm thats fer true...
-
if at all possible, bring in harris... exceptional talent at RB.. blocks well, catches well, runs hard..
-
that wouldnt be a wise choice imo. bilukidi has potential to be the next doug brown.. a perennial allstar and a rock on our dline (if we can keep resigning him) trading that possibility for a qb who could be a product of the system and players in toronto isnt worth it.. id much rather trade a pick or player thats here..
-
not definitively true.. bellfuille may have had juggled the offense a bit to work around what they were doing.. but suddenly blitzing all half definitely made it easier on us.. wonder what caused the switch..
-
If we want to have a good offence, we should plan to "start" 5 NI's on offence, 2 on defence. If Pencer or Neufeld win the RT spot, great, Swiston is the better of the 3 so he'll probably end up being our RG by default. We shouldn't rely on it. That's a recipe for a bad season. We really need to solidify the interior though. For some reason the Mack/Lapo regime had this great fascination with the NI tackles and we've done nothing to procure or develop any interior guys other than Greaves and even Greaves was looked at as a tackle prospect. I think they assumed that is a guy could play tackle he could also play Guard... it's turning out to be pretty untrue personally, i imagine they felt developing a tackle would be better then FAing ones every other season where as guards/centres are much more plentiful,.cheaper and easier to bring in (in theory) but ends up that all Oline members are difficult to aquire because they are all in such high demand..
-
how about chalking it up to adjusting and learning what toronto was doing? at the end of.the day that "dreadful" half was half of the second.best offensive output in the last 2 seasons, best of this years... id prefer to look at it that way..
-
the fact that we have this discussion in back to back years is disturbing... but i agree, playing to not win shouldnt even be a consideration... i feel it goes against everything sports stand for.. honesty, fair play, play hard, etc etc..
-
this is some pretty cool news.. i really thought he was set in the raiders organization.. cool news for us regardless... getting that first axe tends to lead to the cfl eventually..
-
meh. id be protecting him regardless at this point... so I doubt its due to any deviousness..
-
sadly I think your kinda right.. i imagine they are playing him to show him off to ottawa in hopes they like what they see.. if not, cut or traded I would assume will happen with what ive seen since the trade..
