  1. interesting. ya he was said to have been the reason Bear Woods was expendable. Suppose the story behind Wood's bringing issues up to the CFLPA may have had more weight to it.. not that I'm surprised in the least, Kavis Reed's tenure as a GM has been laughable at best.
  2. yup I could see Demski in the same role as Thorpe was this season. thru the middle, hard yards, breaking tackles. IF Lapo is still here and IF he wants to keep with the dink/dunk style offense.. I'd think this would be a wise choice.
  3. heres hoping.. I'm all for giving people more time to prove themselves but Washington has been underwhelming at this point.
  4. this is the truth of it right here. having 3 guys who can all catch, run, grind for yards and block was awesome but it was next to impossible to find a way to get them all on the field, all get touches and all stay happy. 2, no problem. 3 and you are handcuffing your offense.. I'm sure there was an offensive set out there that could have made it work but Lapo wasn't trying to incorporate that me thinks.. if Thorpe didn't become a petulant child and demand more playing time, maybe next training camp they could have changed the offense to cater to that but now.. no point.
  5. ya that I will agree with.. it was borderline nauseating at times. seeing our defense turn it over and then not recover in time.. hanging Mason out to dry.. that was painful.
  6. and I understand that frustration but its not like we are 0-6. there has been some glimpses of good play. Helly has looked good, the offense has clicked. Defensively we could really use some consistency no doubt but I mean.. to suggest its hard to care about a team your a fan of? does not compute.
  7. I think Denmark wouldn't have slotted in there either tbh. Lankford's speed is used as a decoy as much as it is to move the ball me thinks. well, in theory anyway. Lankford being stone hands when it comes to receiving (which makes my head hurt as he is pretty sure handed on the returns) makes the likelihood of him being an effective decoy pretty narrow. We need a burner who catches the ball and makes team pay. Lankford hasn't been that guy. I wish we had the capacity to keep him on as a return man AND field another receiver who is the burner speed guy..
  8. I kinda think so too, especially with Fleury out.
  9. lol thats the spirit.. just had a 3 game winning streak snapped by a very solid team.. might as well give up the faith after 6 games.
  10. ...isn't that what I just said? well minus the higher paycheque but they offered him a spot to start.
  11. not so much quit as left for greener pastures... cant fault a guy for moving to where he can start.
  12. IMO it was Flanders versus Thorpe. Flanders was just as effective as Thorpe, if not more so. He also backed up Harris and bided his time without complaint. He was doing the same things Thorpe was doing. He wasn't a receiver who could play the speedster wide out spot so its not a Lankford versus Thorpe thing.
  13. Obviously but to what extent? You want to get a deal done thats mutually beneficial and form a relationship that will be lasting... not try and grab the team by the balls and make them break.
  14. Adams has taken a beating this year and it took one of the most vicious hits I've seen... ever.. to knock him out of the game. I don't think Adam's is too slight or small.. I think he plays a big game and like most receivers who bang thru the middle, they are going to get hurt sometimes. not every receiver can be built like Nik Lewis.
  15. boo-urns. lets see what Givens and Brown have to offer.. at least we got some time before playoffs.
  16. thats hilarious. wonder if the CFLPA denied his certification. wonder if they will certify him now that hes slamming the CFL and its practices.. sure didn't sound like he knew how the CFL worked tho, thats for true.
  17. Any news to report out of Saskabush? Thought Jones was supposed to address the situation sometime this early afternoon... feel like John Lovitz character in the wedding singer when Adam Sandler's character is starting to unravel and hes in the corner like "hes losing his mind... and we are reaping all the benefits!" except the benefits are just an endless stream of entertainment.
  18. oh I agree, hes an elite receiver in this league imo. I'm hopeful hes back at 100% as well, because we gotta need him at his highest level.
  19. Ya me either but wow has Adams stepped it up this season.. that and Dressler hasn't been himself this year it seems..
  20. The pair of defensive backs have just finished practice and are taking a few minutes to talk about the growing false-birthday joke that has been escalating since the start of the season. Fogg’s birthday, it should be known, is October 6th. oh lol.. ya I totally missed that one. that or read it and its now lost in the myriad of my memories.. I blame all the ringing of my noggin off low doorways and ceilings.
  21. cool. thanks for the heads up... also, clearly as all I had to do was post on a forum and voila, info found lol.
  22. I thought I heard tha he was 6 game'd but definitely just a rumour, no confirmation..
