  1. I'll never understand this either. Project picks (even if they were not meant to be projects) are so frowned upon here. how dare someone take longer to develop or suffer a setback! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!! makes no sense. its like everyone has this misconception that players should always pan out instantly or else be shunned and tossed to the garbage pile..
  2. you're using 3rddownnation's writer to justify a stance on Richards? I mean.. sure.. hes a "journalist" just like I'm a "blogger" lol but really.. hes a fan and that's kind of it.. Id rather trust Walters and O'shea's stance on him over this guy.
  3. I'm so glad others can see this and its not just me. He has been dealt a shitty hand up to this point. I do agree with the general statement that this does need to be his make or break season tho.. He does need to validate his position on the roster or be moved to make way for someone else. I fully expect him to show well in camp if he stays healthy and if he inadvertently injures himself again to be cut adrift..
  4. I dunno if I would myself. I love our Canadian content and less pompousness and pageantry.. maybe I'm just a hick from the sticks but I like how our game feels more.. grass roots.
  5. theres no try because its fact. Has he had a chance to prove himself or establish himself? Nope. Thusly, he isn't really in a position to be called a success or a failure. you DO understand that, right? you have to be given an opportunity to become a success or failure before you can be called one. Would it be fair for me to call you a BC lions fan simply because you live in lotus land? no, I call you a bomber fan because you seem to generally be passionate about the blue and gold AND have proven it.. well, sorta anyway lol.
  6. Bond over Neufeld because you need to protect your QB (but neufeld isn't a starter and this argument pertains to starters..) ditto import over JFG (same scenario, not sure if JFG is going to be the bonafide starter outta camp yet.. but this MAY be the only one truly relevant here) a special teamster LB versus a starting American?? if you want to make this argument, at least reference starters for starters.. would you rather Muamba versus bass? Greenwood? Id take the Canadian hands down.. BUT I am in the camp that would much rather see a Canadian over an American in the "talent" spots.. I value that curveball our league has.. how to overcome the differences.. how each team looks at getting around the "problem" some people think it to be..
  7. you just admit to the grey area but need to define him in an absolute statement? mind bottling.. he is a developmental prospect that hasn't proven himself. So I'd probably just call him that...
  8. exactly! He hasn't had a chance to fail as he hasn't been in a situation where he has had to make or break. Injuries and depth have kept him as developmental or potential.. not quite a spot where a kid can prove himself a success or failure imo... and frankly, wtf does it even matter? if he develops, awesome.. if he doesn't, oh well.. its not like its a personal affront to me if he doesn't pan out but others deem it a requirement to label players thusly.. does not compute.
  9. it has to be a success or fail at this point tho? No grey area for a developing player??
  10. you wouldn't be in the minority I think. It would cheapen the experience for myself and probably to the point of turning away from the game if they removed the requirement drastically enough. I love my Canadian content. blue Jays are really the only MLB team I follow, Raptors are the same for the NBA. We lose the identity that makes our game great and I think its a big time detriment..
  11. nope. we change the ratio and I'm probably done with the CFL. I love it BECAUSE it requires Canadian content, not in spite of it. you want American football, go watch the NFL.
  12. you are a scholar and a gentleman for trying lol. me, I relate it to banging my head against brick wall over and over and over again..
  13. gotta have a neck to shrug the shoulders tho.
  14. and then he acts like we slapped his sister-cousin for suggesting they may be up the creek.. its not like we don't know what we are talking about here, lol.
  15. yup, me too.. I was religious on that site.. sad sad state of affairs..

/me ftw lol. miss that from my irc days.
  17. Loffler or Leggett... Medlock too all viable to be "worthy" imo..
  18. Yea gotta agree here.. if your shoulder is toast, it throws EVERYTHING else off not to mention the pain from having a fouled joint. I buggered my rotator cuff in a car accident and took me forever to get strength and flexibility back. Couldn't imagine if it was my actual shoulder joint
  19. And it's not like the search just stops because we might re-sign Nichols.. Should we go below mediocrity while we keep looking? seems like a bad idea to me when we could sign a guy who is capable of getting us Ws
  20. He could also have been notified that he could be getting traded to 1 or more teams, no?
  21. Loffler was way more of of a critical part to our defense then daniels was to the stamps offense He was also more impactful in games imo. and he's canadian. can't believe he didn't get the nod.
  22. Wild being cut due to performance.. *scoff* the crazy pills were dolled out in this thread for sure..
