  1. The old away is good but could be considered a bit boring I guess. I like the new one, a bit more interesting. It's all personal taste ...
  2. I'll take royal blue and no "piping" over what we had, even with a few things that aren't exactly as I would do them. I think it's cool actually that we have a bit of an update on the classic royal blue jersey (something I wished the fans had the option of buying for the last ten seasons or so). That way we actually still have a classic uniform to go to if needed (no not the navy blue ).
  3. The only screw up by the Bomber IMO is the fact they held on to the navy blue colour scheme faaaaaaaar too long (talking years and years) when they knew the fans wanted royal blue back. For whatever reason the team remained stubborn about it but finally realized they weren't going to win and finally changed. http://www.cfl.ca/2016/05/16/dunk-new-threads-adidas-come-18-months-making/ in this article it says the teams were consulted with every part of the design, not sure the Bombers had that option when Reebok was doing it, so I'll cut them some slack. In this case however Adidas messed up, not the team ...
  4. To each his own, but I hope the Bombers never take a kicker anywhere but in the last two rounds of the CFL draft from here on in. Most teams are moving away from National kickers, replacing the roster spots elsewhere. It's becoming like the National QB it seems. There are lots of good out of work American ones out there. Why draft one?
  5. Hefney or Suber both were great so really if either of those guys was available it would be awesome.
  6. Suber would be my choice ...
  7. ... says the dude who is still obsessing about a joke posted over 18 hours ago.
  8. ... and it was a darn funny Rider joke cause it was true
  9. Replacement? Any ideas? R Hall for now ...
  10. Ummm, where did I say not to draft him? But go ahead, draft a kicker number one next year , I'd love to see it. You won't need to, but because the Riders never make mistakes and Joe Mack it once and awhile, I'm sure that will be the best thing that ever happened to them in your opinion. And all I have to say to you about that is Mo Price LOL ...
  11. Taylor LOL ..
  12. Well if you're saying drafting him in the third round is a fail, I agree . Not saying he isn't or won't be a good kicker, but considering the positional needs the riders have, kicker is a reach that high in the draft. I doubt anyone else takes him because every team seems set at kicker so you wasted a pick you could have used on a positional need for something you could have had anyway. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/04/tampa-bay-buccaneers-draft-roberto-aguayo-reaction. And yes ... I thought it was funny, anytime the Riders mess up it brings joy to my heart
  13. Woohoo I was drafted by the Riders in the third round of the CFL draft! I didn't think anyone was that stupid ...
  14. So Alan Perun, Bud Harden, and Jayson Dzikowicz are to blame then? Thank God Murphy at least tried to fight against the move, restores my idolic view of him They must have made threats against his family for him to consent ...
  15. I would pick door number 3 Monty, and suggest one watch this when it comes to discussing the old Bomber regime's truthfulness (at least 1995 - 2013)
  16. That's the only thing mentioned as to why but no real details (although Walby's comments about feeling like a different team are telling). The 90's was a bad time overall in the CFL IMO, expansion to the US, Ottawa folding etc. The person(s) who decided to change from royal to navy and change the classic W logo were probably the same ones who thought it was a good idea to fire Cal Murphy after a few down years, let Matt Dunigan walk in FA, and hire Jeff Reinenbold. It all degenerated from there ...
  17. Some answers here I guess http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/bombers-new-jerseys-a-nod-to-the-past-379204641.html
  18. Now that we've returned to our iconic royal blue and gold uniform colours, I've been wondering, why the switch to navy in the first place? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy and don't want to dig up bad memories, which the team had a lot of in navy blue. I am trying to recall for my own clarity I guess, the reasoning for the change. I vaguely recall it being mentioned in the 94 season (in which a goal post caused us to miss out on a Grey Cup win IMO ), and don't remember much complaining from fans about it. I know the league had American teams in 95 when we switched, and teams had more freedom to alter uniforms then (no big company and league mandated change like now) but who decided we should switch, and why? Cal Murphy was GM and coach at the time so it's safe to assume he had input, but he seems like a guy that could have cared less about uniform colour, design save for the fact that he was strong on Bomber heritage/tradition. Anyone who was around at that time like myself recall why we changed? Sorry if this topic stirs up bad nightmares .
  19. Let's see, Jones is my new HC and it's Saskatchewan I'm going to now live in ... time to explore other options
  20. He just got to the Riders, he hasn't left them yet, gotta keep up ...
  21. ... on winning your third WHL title over Seattle last night! Good to see Manitoba do well in hockey on the national stage. Kelly McCrimmon has done an amazing job with that franchise for so long, he really deserves a chance at a Memorial Cup!
  22. I like JFG and think he makes it as a backup with Richards not fully recovered yet. Once Richards can play thinking he goes PR and the Riders pick him up and then he retires
