  1. I agree, they deserve better pay, hey don't we all? Problem is they probably won't get significantly much more than they are now, even with the TV revenue increase. There's another team in this league this year and it already seems like they are trying their best to mess things up monetarily Not sure this helps the league stability as a whole. Let's see the team in Ottawa make it through a few seasons and how it goes first ...
  2. This is typical rabble rousing stuff that goes on in negotiations such as this ... "they really ripped us a good one in that last deal" sort of talk is so common. The reality is they pretty much are hooped, where are the majority of players going to play, even for the lower wages in this league? Brown sounds bored like he's ready to butcher more colour work on CJOB with Irving this season
  3. The guy steaming the sewer down the street might be better than DelMonaco ...
  4. I'd just be down with just having one, as in the original question, but yes Chui could be a great hire if Wylie is not here.
  5. I heard awhile back something about Wylie not wanting to come back to Canada right now. Chiu sounds interesting. On a side note wouldn't it be interesting if Wally and Wylie both came to work for us then we'd get to talk about Willy, Wylie, and Wally ...
  6. Where is he?
  7. Nice ... one of the all time great Bombers!
  8. I'm going with 5 years ... 3 if Dejardins remains GM for more than 2 seasons ... signed #kevinglennshacker
  9. The more I think about Glenn the more I am starting to have that "been there done that" sort of feeling, and I'm not sure I want the team to get into that. The goal for this team is to get this team to a Grey Cup championship and actually win the thing. We know QB is an important element of that. Glenn may have save for a broken arm, won one in 2007 (we'll never know and Riderfans will argue forever on that), but he sure as heck didn't win one in 2012 or 2013 on a good team. Yes he played well during the regular season but it still makes me wonder if he truly is just good enough to get you into the playoffs and that's all. I am of the opinion now that we need to develop the guys we have (with a better system) and see how it plays out. Ya, I know everyone is going to say that hasn't worked before, why now but what other choice do we have? Ottawa right now wants too much for Glenn and he wants to start. Those are problems IMO that could hinder the development of the young guys that may develop into the future for this team. If we can get him for nothing and he doesn't mind playing backup that changes things somewhat, why not? As it stands now though, I don't think it's a good idea to bring him in.
  10. Haven't been there since the Fall so I don't know what they stock now, but Giant Tiger on Regent had a plethora of boxed Old Dutch chips, all kinds of flavours I hadn't seen for ages. Might be worth checking out.
  11. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/glenn-only-as-good-as-team-around-him-249390601.html Kind of an off handed diss although the stats tend to prove what he is implying, that Glenn benefited from a good team around him the last few seasons and overall isn't as good as he looked in Calgary. Is he worth the risk of giving up anything of value for, even though he's a somewhat proven vet? We'll see if the Bombers think so.
  12. or the number 4 ... he looks like a young Arland Bruce in parts of this highlight package, maybe it's just the number
  13. We had Brink, Elliott, Goltz to groom and how did that turn out. Turns out Mack was a lousy barber
  14. two import starters and a later round draft choice ... let me think ... NOT!
  15. What's really interesting is the things mentioned here are things that have been brought up for the past four or five seasons by many in here as being reasons the Bombers were not getting better. Good to see the team now gets it and has hired people who do in the football dept. Hopefully the team can get competitive real quick. Good on Walters for cutting his pay.
  16. Speaking of Purdue and former Bomber QBs ... hard to believe Mike Bishop vs Drew Brees was actually called a classic LOL
  17. I like his focus in this video, nothing distracts him ...
  18. Sims right to me
  19. Interestingly enough Tim Burke was clocked at having the "fastest passing the buck" ...
  20. he did. Brandons a mentalist dontcha kno. He can look at someone and instantly know how intelligent they are or how much of a foot IQ. They have. Screw the fact he had some excellent seasons in the cfl, that he was helping out with offense while hurt and that he always seemed limited by physical attributes as opposed to brain cramps.. People need to really think before posting at times.. The "cuz i said so" defense is pretty played out already.. I hope Capt Blue is not basing his opinion on the last few seasons. Warren Moon in his prime could not have done any better with the chicken crap schemes the team worked with. I'm really looking forward to the team instituting a real CFL offence from camp on this year to see if what I suspect is true ... Crowton's playbook really hurt this team more than most realize. Like putting 20 lb weights around each ankle. Sure MB's playbook may not rival the Eskies in their heyday but nothing can be as putrid as that thing we suffered through as fans the last 2 seasons. Buck wasn't responsible for that and can't be blamed IMO totally for the complete failure of the offence. When we had a semblance of one in 2011 we did alright I recall ...
  21. top 5 Buck Pierce (non injury) moments
