After labor day, I believe all Montreal home games are Sunday afternoon games due to the neighborhood the stadium is located in.

I'm not sure if I love that movie because of rowdy Piper or because it's such a good movie... Either way what a great movie! That movie was a guilty pleasure for me too. I don't know if anyone can honestly call it a "great" movie but I didn't feel cheated when I left the theatre that day. Probably wouldn't like it if I saw it now though. Kind of like how I bought the original Star Wars movie for my grandson and sat through it barely. The back alley fight between Piper and Keith David (Frank) that just keeps going and going and going is what really makes that movie for me. Also, training camp? Seems to be some thought that we might end up with 8 NI starters?

I'm wondering how this factors in to the fact that Bell (TSN) is now going to be part owner of one of the league teams.

This is awesome. I see Shaw filling a void that Rogers first created when they walked from their sponsorship. And with all the Rah-Rah that TSN/Bell is plugging towards Shaw, I see that as a bit of a middle finger in Rogers direction.

related note: the contractor (Stuart Olson Dominion), is also in a dust-up over the convention centre project. The convention centre part is fine, but as part of getting that contract they also had to build a top-tier hotel to service the expanded building. This seems to be mired by backroom deals that I'm no so sure SOD had much involment in, but the facts are still coming out. It seems that CenterVenture kept throwing wrenches in the works of their hotel building so they could get the contract in the hands of TrueNorth. In exchange for doing the dirty, the 16 million dollar penalty for not building the hotel was slashed to under 4 million. One of the reasons that centerventure uses to try to convince the city councillers to accept the deal is that if they try to get the full penalty out of SOD, the whole thing will be tied up in courts for years. Part of me thinks they are using the reputation of the legal battle over the stadium construction as leverage to add more umpf to this BS argument. The good news for taxpayers is that it seems mayor Bowman smells something shifty and is demanding a public RFP for the hotel build now. Here's hoping this issue can be fixed up, and SOD gets a fair chance to get a hotel built, or pays the appropriate penalty, not something discounted by over 10 million bucks.

And aside from his presence as a defender, our long snapping really took a hit when Wild was out of the lineup. We would be on the market for a new one if we can't get him back for sure.
