  1. I agree circumstance made our group worse in 2023 & 2024. I’m talking about the plan when building the team. Clearly the plan was to be stacked at rec this year, as we paid our top 4 guys approx 800-900k and relied on guys to step up on the ol. We did this with an immobile qb behind an untested line. Two guys are pushing 40, our young Canadians hadn’t proven anything, and our rt was a journeyman. I’m not a fan of that approach. I was hopeful it would work out, but it was a struggle. If we were going to go cheap on the ol, I wish we brought in more Americans throughout the year to challenge for some of those spots. It’s not like we didn’t have the roster flexibility to use them.
  2. Imo all three guys we used were fairly interchangeable, but I think Kase looked the most natural doing it. It never felt like he was going to break a big one, but I was also never scared he’d cough it up.
  3. He was awesome. Nobody else had a memorable season. Our depth that year was Kelvin McKnight and Charles Nelson.
  4. lol, you ask which year we won with average receivers, then concede 2019 and list a very average receiving corp from 2021. Those two years would be my answer.
  5. Prior years have shown we can win with average receivers and a great ol. Our decision makers decided we should start moving money from ol to wr and it hasn’t worked out. I’m a big believer in building from the line out on both sides of the ball. I really hope we get the best ol money can buy this offseason and ride our run game again.
  6. I remember giving up something stupid like 11 sacks in a game against that cover zero D. Took awhile for teams to figure that out. Just relentless pressure…
  7. Remember how adamant you were that our offense’s early problems were in large part due to O’shea’s decision to not play our starters in preseason? Now you’re saying two years away from BC’s system should have no effect on Rourke?
  8. With the playbook his current team uses.
  9. To be fair, I think Kelly has been practicing. Rourke only had three practices.
  10. He’s been good. Not sure why so many in here don’t seem to like him.
  11. They’re really letting the Ottawa holding go. Jake Thomas might be pregnant after that play.
  12. I really don’t think a lack of interest/effort was the issue. I think he had accepted that he couldn’t beat a double team, so was sitting back trying to bat down balls.
  13. That was a weird looking play. I need to see it again, but I don’t think Demski fully extended his arms.
  14. Collaros was much better tonight, especially with the receiver group he was working with. I think Pierce called a better game, too.
  15. 1. The rookie dbs look very promising. Whoever scouts dbs is very good at his job. 2. Woli stepped up big time today. Our 5th or 6th option on O last year is now our #2 receiver. 3. I think Buck called his best game of the season, with the exception of the last few plays of the 1st half.
  16. That was embarrassingly bad game mgmt. WTF were they doing?
  17. Not sure about the time management/play calling at the end of the half.
  18. I’ve been coaching football since 2017, but my team’s never been better than .500 and we’ve never won a playoff game. I’m not sure what category to put myself in lol
  19. Yes. I only remember us doing that once this year, and Buck just ran him up the gut.
  20. 1000% agree. There’s so much we can do to help with protection and run blocking. In addition to what you said, maybe crack the de’s a few times. Might slow down the rush a bit if they’re worried about being decleated. I thought in the Ottawa game we moved Collaros around more, to mixed results, but it was better than standing in the pocket. Also, our use of Strevy has sucked so far. If anything, we’re using him less than we did Prukop last year. I don’t understand why we aren’t using him more, especially given our struggles to move the ball.
  21. I’d love to see an overhead view of games to see if the receivers are getting open. It seems like he’s double pumping a lot. Is that bc he’s not able to pull the trigger, the receivers aren’t open, or is the lack of protection getting in his head? Probably a bit of each, but it’s hard to tell without seeing film of the game.
  22. While he is starting to get old, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that his play has fallen off as our ol has gotten worse. Our OL was great in 2021, but has gotten a little bit worse each year since.
