  1. I heard on the radio this morning that the rumour is it took so long to charge him b/c they were trying to get him to give up his supplier. He refused, so they charged him. That's from Wheeler, so take it for what it's worth.
  2. No one is going to use revenue for one thing and one thing only and I honestly don't believe that it should be used like that. Why not?
  3. I wish one of the parties (LIberals) had the stones to bring the GST back up to 7%. Such a stupid move by Harper to cut it. I'd like to see those two extra points added back to the GST and used exclusively for infrastructure. I would want oversight on those funds though, so nobody could pull a Selinger (PST hike) and spend it on whatever he wants. Liberals are promising to pour a pile of money into infrastructure (causing above noted deficits), which is desperately needed. The problem is the Conservatives have cut off so much revenue it's gotten harder to pay for it. IMO they have to borrow to do this b/c it's desperately needed. Balancing the operating budget and borrowing for infrastructure is the way to go imo.
  4. I have no problem with the healthcare "cuts". The provinces need to get their costs under control. Their plan of always asking for more isn't sustainable.
  5. Fairly sure the riders would have something to say about that. BC too.
  6. Of course they will. That's what every gov't says when they run a deficit. I would hold the Cons responsible if they do it though since they have been very clear that despite economic warnings, they intend to balance the budget. A minority Con government changes things because the opposition will force them into deficit so 3-4 years later they can claim Harper lied. A Conservative majority would never post a deficit.

  8. That's a good take on most people posting in this thread.
  9. Dallas puck stopping tandem is better than most of the western conference. Which Western teams do you think they have better goaltending than?
  10. 6 yrs / 40.5M deal for Giordano in Calgary. Lower aav than I expected. He'll be pretty old when it's over so I suspect it's as front loaded as is allowed.
  11. You remind of the Chinese student in Tiananmen Square that stared down a tank.
  12. How long does a novelty period last? They're going into year 5 already...
  13. You're far from the field in Toronto. I saw a game there against the Bombers in 2001 and there were maybe 12k people there. The atmosphere was brutal.
  14. Why is it a "so called" Canadian Draft? It's a "draft" for "Canadians". Seems appropriately titled.
  15. 1 yr / $1.25M per for Ehrhoff in LA.
  16. The two teams that smashed us also soundly beat the Riders. Two of their close losses were to a team we beat. Also, we've beaten them already.
  17. IMO the Ticats have the best qb, ol, and receiving corp in the league. Add that to what so far has been an historically good D, and they're looking pretty friggen good right now.
  18. I had him, but changed my mind and switched my roster right before the deadline. I also added Cato in that same stroke of genius...
  19. Produces a lot of it too.
  20. This seems a little much on the opposite side of the spectrum. No way Philly would ever give us that much.
  21. Think it through. Antoine Vermette was worth a 1st rounder. Do you think any team wouldn't trade Vermette for Buff?
  22. Well, sure, and I'd take a Lotto Max win.......... Buff would get us a very good return. Look at what dmen were going for at the deadline, & none of them were as good as Buff.
  23. As the Conservative's Minister of Propaganda, it's TUP's job to know these things.
  24. I think the biggest issue with the Senate scandal is that they appear to be getting caught in lies about it. If they hadn't tried to cover it up it would be Duffy painted as the bad guy, not Harper. Or at least not to the same degree he is now.
