  1. Pretty good chance his career is over.
  2. I suppose hypothetically it could be. In reality it almost certainly won't be.
  3. How can we accurately compare Washington & Leggett when they have different jobs? How often did Leggett have to cover a receiver 1 on 1? I like Johnson, but I think it'd almost be a certainty he'd lose his job before Washington if we had to make a change. He lost it last year for awhile.
  4. I wouldnt defend calling Reimer's mom, but the question had merit. It might seem stupid because no player is going to admit to being uncoachable but in the wake of the firing, it was a topic for discussion. When a coach is fired, many players admit to taking fault and feeling awful. I thought Kessel's reaction was telling in that he immediately deflected blame. Ron Wilson was right, when you change coaches 2 or 3 times with the same players, who's fault is it? The GM's.
  5. The reporter who asked that question was Dave Feschuk, the same guy that called Reimer's mom trying to get an injury update on him.
  6. Holy crap that's a lot of money!
  7. My guess is he competes for the job at wil.
  8. Certainly sounded to me like January's days as a Bomber could be coming to an end. I'd like him to at least come to camp, but I think the chances of getting a vet like him to basically tryout w/o a signing bonus are pretty slim.
  9. Well that's certainly interesting... I'm sure it's so he can try for the NFL again next year.
  10. Sucks for us, but good for him. Should be a good st'er down there.
  11. Now we add Stanley Bryant at LT, Holmes at LG, Heenan at RT, and we're set.
  12. Just saw that too. That's interesting. Does Goosen stay as 6th OL or do they think he can start at guard? I guess another follow up question is, "what the hell do I know about OL play?" I thought Morley was every bit as good as he was...
  13. 0% chance that would be enough. McDavid is going to be a franchise player. You don't hand those guys over for a 2nd liner and a 10-20 pick. The last time a "generational" prospect was traded was LIndros. Philly had to give up a tonne (Peter Forsberg, Steve Duschene, Kerry Huffman, Mike Ricci, Ron Hextall, Chris Simon, Philly’s first-round pick in 1993 and 1994, and $15 million in cash) to get him. McDavid is the at the level Lindros was coming out of Junior and will also demand a huge return.
  14. I was hoping for at least one of Washington or Sears, so this is good news. Now we should get both...
  15. Let me be perfectly clear...I'm not a Rod Black fan. Just sayin' somebody must like him for him to keep the gig.
  16. Keep them all and look for a forward in FA.
  17. They've turned the guy into a celebrity. He's probably the network's biggest personality since Jay & Dan left. Sportsnet also offered him a pile of money to take over Millard's duties there. Black must have some fans, or they wouldn't keep bringing him back. As much as we might like to think so, a couple dozen fans on a message board don't speak for the general population.
  18. Why? Duthie is hugely popular.
  19. Serious question...are you drunk right now? First, neither McDavid nor Eichel is small. They're both already 190+ pounds and over 6' as 17 year kids. Second, being very good hockey players is how they'd help.
  20. He's my first choice too.
  21. Klinkhammer isn't a centre and he's not very good, but he's at least a capable 4th liner on a good team. He'll certainly have a regular spot with the Oilers. He's a pending UFA. Perron is actually younger than him, and has another year left with a reasonable cap hit. His offense should go through the roof now that he'll be playing with stars. Look at what moving to the Pens did for Hornqvist. I like this trade for the Pens. The 1st rounder they gave up will likely be in the 25-30 range. More than reasonable for a 26 year old who should put up 60-70 points in a full season with them.
  22. I'm not sure about that. Donny O shouldn't be able to command too much money. He missed most of last year and he was never dominant prior to that. Hickman has one good CFL season to his name, and Bear Woods potentially has two other starting calibre mlbs to contend with that will bring his value down. My guess is their cumulative total would be closer to $600k. IMO Holmes is the only one of that group that should approach $200k.
  23. Although Hall is third on my list of wanted DCs, I'm happy with any of Claybrooks, Benevedes, or Hall being hired.
  24. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2014/12/29/byfuglien-playing-elite-defence-maurice From Paul Maurice on December 29: "The way he's playing defensively right now, he's got to stay there."
