This is the first I've heard of a meeting between the Bombers and Claybrooks. There was a rumour from one of our media guys (can't remember who) that Claybrooks was in town shortly before Etch was fired.

What an absolute disaster of a trade that would be. No chance this happens. Byfuglien is one of our top 2 D. ROR would be a 2nd/3rd line winger. Terrible trade-off. Not to mention O'Reilly has a $6M cap hit and will also be UFA after next season. Buff has a similar cap hit and will also be a UFA after next season too. That's why I said also. Why trade a guy with an expiring contract for another guy with an expiring contract? That's trading for the sake of trading. Buff's cap hit is $800k lower. He has comparable value as a winger and can play a top pairing role on D. It would be a terrible trade.

Chairot has to go on waivers to be sent down. We would almost certainly lose him to another team. Will he considering he was called up due to injury to someone else? From Capgeek: http://capgeek.com/waiver-calculator/?player_submit=1&player_id=1924 Ben Chiarot's waiver exemption of 3 year(s) and 138 career NHL regular season and playoff game(s) has ended. He has been credited with 3 year(s) and 13 career game(s).

was the DC for Ditka they were at each other's throats for most f the season. Actually had to be physically separated during a game as they nearly came to blows .. was during their only loss of the 85 season. Monday night vs the Dolphins. That's the first NFL game I ever watched and it made me a Dolphins fan. I remember telling my mom the team with the cool helmets would win that game.

Burris restructures contract with REDBLACKS

Because they will be lousy team with or without Hank. A couple legit receivers and I think they'd be a pretty good team. Pretty good might be an overstatement, but I don't think they'd be terrible again. Their receivers last season were awful. What sucked for Ottawa last season was DeMarco getting hurt. They lost a chance to see if he could be their guy. Now they've been forced to hang on to Burris and that nasty contract for another year. -
I think that would be a mistake. He's good at forward, but he's been great on D. I'd go with the same six guys Floyd named, though I might change the groupings. Stuart could finally be the bottom pairing dman he should be. Buff-Enstrom, Bogo-Trouba, Stuart-Chiarot. Those first two pairing have worked together before so it's not like they'd be strangers to each other. When Kane's in the lineup we have three effective lines. If we want to add another guy we could probably deal Postma for a decent 3/4 line player. He's big, young, and has some offensive upside.

Roy's off the market. Sent to the Oilers for Arcobello.

I'd be willing to consider it if you asked with more confidence. Who cares what college Stewart came from. As for the length of his career, EJ Kuale has been in the league for six seasons. He must be really good too... -
Roy isn't very good anymore, but he's a lot better than Heatley. He's finished as an NHL level player. I'd rather see Galiardi in the lineup.

Pavelec has been terrible in Minny. Playing Hutch was the right choice. Unless there's a shutout in this game, I expect Pavelec in the return game in Winnipeg.

Great is a pretty strong word. I'll give him a "pretty good" rating while he was here. He was tried in a few spots here and was only able to maintain a starting role as the field corner. I'm not sure why Hamilton thought he'd be able to play a different role there. He's a freakishly good athlete, but for some reason he can't cover anybody who has a running start. -

So they put all that money into their past-his-prime qb rather than extending guys who will be their core going forward? That doesn't seem like the best plan. Seems like they're pretty much tied to him again after paying him what amounts to a signing bonus for next season. -
Angle didn't tap. He probably would have had to, or had his arm broken, if the ref wasn't smart enough to make the 3 count, but he didn't tap.

If they were attacked? I'd be shocked if they didn't.

What good is a baseless threat? The US hasn't gone to war with a country that could fight back since Vietnam, and it certainly won't start now with North Korea. If it didn't start a war with China, it would probably result in South Korea being hit with a nuclear bomb. Besides, should military action really be threatened over a movie company hack?
-
Other countries in the region should be carrying their fair share of the load. It makes no sense for US to do all of the dirty work.

Poll: Who Should be the Bombers' New DC?
sweep the leg replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I wonder who is present at the interviews?Mike O'Shea is present. Is that it? Who else needs to be there? No one. O'Shea will have to answer for the coaches under him and therefore ought to have the final say. Having somebody else sit in on a meeting to offer their $.02 does mean it wouldn't be his final decision. -
That's pretty much the same time I lost interest. I moved on to watching MMA instead. I actually went to the WWE event in Winnipeg last winter with my son. He's eight now and that's about the age I fell in love with wrestling. He loved watching it live, but can't be bothered to sit down and watch it on tv. There's no Hulk Hogan type of hero to really catch a kid's attention now like how it happened for me.

Well, I guess I learn something new everyday. I was pretty young when UFC 1 came out so I didn't know any of that back story on Shamrock.
-
Severn & Shamrock were MMA fighters before they were wrestlers.

Like TUP said, wrestling injuries can be much worse b/c of what they're doing. For example, nobody in the UFC is jumping off the cage onto a table outside the ring. This risk of catastrophic injury is much higher in WWE than UFC. As far as just the punches go, nobody in WWE is taking a bomb like Hendo landed on Bisping. A close friend of my parents was a professional wrestler back in the 80s. His career was ended when when he took the Road Warriors finishing move and landed on the back of his head/neck.
