  1. What good is a baseless threat? The US hasn't gone to war with a country that could fight back since Vietnam, and it certainly won't start now with North Korea. If it didn't start a war with China, it would probably result in South Korea being hit with a nuclear bomb. Besides, should military action really be threatened over a movie company hack?
  2. Other countries in the region should be carrying their fair share of the load. It makes no sense for US to do all of the dirty work.
  3. Where do you find NXT on tv?
  4. I wonder who is present at the interviews?Mike O'Shea is present. Is that it? Who else needs to be there? No one. O'Shea will have to answer for the coaches under him and therefore ought to have the final say. Having somebody else sit in on a meeting to offer their $.02 does mean it wouldn't be his final decision.
  5. That's pretty much the same time I lost interest. I moved on to watching MMA instead. I actually went to the WWE event in Winnipeg last winter with my son. He's eight now and that's about the age I fell in love with wrestling. He loved watching it live, but can't be bothered to sit down and watch it on tv. There's no Hulk Hogan type of hero to really catch a kid's attention now like how it happened for me.
  6. Well, I guess I learn something new everyday. I was pretty young when UFC 1 came out so I didn't know any of that back story on Shamrock.
  7. Severn & Shamrock were MMA fighters before they were wrestlers.
  8. Like TUP said, wrestling injuries can be much worse b/c of what they're doing. For example, nobody in the UFC is jumping off the cage onto a table outside the ring. This risk of catastrophic injury is much higher in WWE than UFC. As far as just the punches go, nobody in WWE is taking a bomb like Hendo landed on Bisping. A close friend of my parents was a professional wrestler back in the 80s. His career was ended when when he took the Road Warriors finishing move and landed on the back of his head/neck.
  9. Weak kneed President. Putting the screws to North Korea with even tougher economic sanctions would be a start. What sanctions are left to impose?
  10. Overeem was an unnatural monster. Check him out in that fight compared to earlier in his career, or even now. He was huge. Suprisingly, he failed a drug test shortly after that fight...
  11. You failed to mention he got his ass beat bad. Im not arguing for the sake of it. Sure the guy did some pretty good things... but tell the whole story... not just the part where he wins. Cain kicked his ass and then Overeem destroyed him. Why not mention that? Yes you are. What he did is amazing and it's impossible to intelligently argue against that. Of course he lost a few fights. Almost nobody goes through an mma career without it happening at least once or twice. Silva, GSP, Hughes, Fedor, JDS, & even Cain have all either been knocked out or had their asses kicked at one point. They're all still great fighters. In a sport with guys that big and gloves that small it's almost impossible for it not to happen. Add in the life threatening illness he was suffering from and it really doesn't damage his legacy that much.
  12. NEM is cleary arguing for the sake of arguing. Lesnar was a beast. To walk into the UFC and be the Heavyweight champ three fights later is crazy. Imagine if he had more time to work on his striking? He would have been unstoppable. As it was he beat one of the best ever, a former champion, and and at the time an undefeated monster who had never gone more than one round. NCAA champion. 300 pounds and moved like a welterweight. Almost an NFL DL despite having never played ball past high school. He's the craziest physical freak I've ever seen.
  13. Here's his quote on Hall: "Obviously Alex is a good player, but I don't know how he would fit in. We've got a lot of good players on our roster who don't get a chance to play right now. If you add another one to the mix, who do you bump?" said O'Shea. You play that game and you say, oh this guy would be great or that guy would be great. But you have to always ask where they fit. And what it really comes down to is, who are you going to release to get that guy on the roster? The way I see it right now, our roster has got some depth in areas, and we have some starters that are waiting to play who do a great job when they get the chance," he continued. "When I look at Alex Hall, I see an edge pass-rusher, and I don't see how that fits in with Gary Etcheverry's defensive system where you don't just stand a guy out on the edge and let him rush the passer all day while the other guys clean up the run plays. The way we are built we can't have guys who don't fit our system."
  14. Your analogy is terrible. They would only be similar if the actor playing a cop had now become a real cop and came on the show to talk about his career change.
  15. Like TUP said, wrestlers get punched in the face a lot. It won't be new for him. Also, How'd you decide on Nate Diaz for your example? edit: I just watched the clip and saw the Diaz mention. I wondered at first why you mentioned Diaz b/c he's certainly doesn't have the heaviest hands in mma.
  16. I think we trade Harrison once we're healthy. I bet we could get more than we gave up for him b/c we'd be trading him closer to the deadline.
  17. Landsberg's schitch is asking mock aggressive questions. Guys who don't know it's coming get offended. Sonnen walked off his show once, but has been back a few times since now that he knows what Landsberg is doing.
  18. You can only bring him up on an emergency basis. He can't stay up for a prolonged time.
  19. Chiarot & Brouillette are here and both Kichton & Ellerby are hurt. It makes sense to search for dmen from other teams rather than bring up guys who are bottom pairing dmen in the minors.
  20. Good trade. Big stay at home dman for a very reasonable price. Edit: Carolina also eating 30% of his salary.
  21. I think Portis would have wanted some assurance about being on the active roster before he re-signed. This makes me less confident Brohm will be back, which is too bad b/c I'm a fan. I'm a fan of all of our qbs though so I guess I'll be ok no matter what happens...
  22. Per Lawless the Bombers have spoken to Benevedes already. They have also asked the Riders for permission to speak to Hall.
  23. None. The best way to keep your job is to hire good coordinators and win games.
  24. We don't need a bigger dl. They're almost exactly the same size as the Riders, who had arguably the best DL in the league. We need Vega to rediscover his game and an upgrade on the other side. Peach is a decent rotational guy but I don't want him starting again.
  25. Benevedes, Claybrooks, Hall Claybrooks was in line to be Calgary's DC last season until Stubler became available and he's the heir apparent when he retires. I like anybody that Huff likes.
